hoping someone on here can help!
I got XDA Exec (latest firmware), and a Fuzion bluetooth GPS receiver (model: fgpxbt02), And Tom Tom navigator 5.2
I cannot get tom tom to see the GPS receiver at all.
I paired the device ok and selected serial port and created an incoming and outoing COM port.
When I configure GPS in tom tom it says "no GPS device (flight mode" - by the way the device is NOT in flight mode).
This happens when I select 'other bluetooth GPS', if I select 'other NMEA gps' then the COM ports are not listed.
HOWEVER...
I also have XDA IIs, and the only way to have the Fuzion GPS receiver work with it was to select 'Other Cable NMEA GPS' and then COM6.
So it would Seem that the option to use the com ports I created as an 'other nmea device' is not available because its only for bluetooth connections.
Is there anyway round this, or is there anyway to force 'other nmea device' connect on another port than those listed in the options?

I recently upgraded my Bluetooth GPS Receiver from a rikaline 6030 to an Aktronix with 16 satellites but i can't make it work with my XDAII and Tomtom 3.07.
I can pair it. But when i start the Tomtom GPS Tracker, it can't seem to connect to the Aktronix GPS Receiver.
Any Help will be greatly appreciated
Which port are you using for the gps? Did you accept serial profile when gps was being bonded. Try choosing tomtom wireless gps and bt gps in the bottom box.
I tried to use com 1 port, but xda issued an error saying that com 1 doesn't exist. I then tried 4, 5, 7, 9 to no avail. I tried selecting tomtom wireless gps and bt gps but it still failed to work although that's the setting i used for the rikaline 6030.
The aktronix uses nmea chipset and the manual tells me to use it as an spp slave but xda doesn't have that option. I also tried installing pocket Bluetooth tools but when i tried to pair the aktronix GPS, there's no port number in the serial option. It just has a blank field...
Hopefully you guys can help me sort this out
Try the following under the GPS section (2nd page where the world map is).
Top dropdown = NMEA 0183 v2 Bluetooth
Bottom dropdown = Blue tooth Serial Port COM6
Make sure the box is "ticked"
Also, switch on Bluetooth, go into bluetooth setting, select service, highlight serial port and make sure there is a tick in the Enable service box.

I've selected NMEA 0183 v2 Bluetooth and Com 6. But when i went to bluetooth settings, i can't see service on it. All i can see are:
================================
Bluetooth Beam Authentication
Authentication Required
Bluetooth ActiveSync Setup
Press start button...
Bluetooth Serial Port Setup:
Inbound COM port: COM4
Outbound COM port: COM5
================================
Is this the service that you're talking about? If not, where can i find this service thing that i need to highlight.
ROM Version 1.72.00WWE
Radio Version 1.17.00
ExtRom version 1.72.187
Looking at those setting you should be choosing com 5 for your gps. It should also work by choosing tomtom wireless in the top box and bt gps in the lower box in tomtom gps settings. Try removing the gps from your bonded items, reset the xda then rebond, it should offer to act as serial port profile, answer yes to this.
I also tried installing pocket Bluetooth tools but when i tried to pair the aktronix GPS, there's no port number in the serial option. It just has a blank field...

This is the same problem for me, but with a Royaltek RBT-1000, XDA II and Pocket Bluetooth Tools installed...
Any solution?
Well, I have a similar condition.
O2 XDA II, AA Navigator and Fortuna Clip-On Bluetooth GPS.
It has worked before with TomTom, it STILL works with Microsoft Pocket Streets - you start it and it shows the GPS data.
AA Navigator automatically detects the device, setting the data to COM5 (which seems right to me - Outbound port which means the XDAII initiates the link) and speed to 4800. This is the same setting which is used by (working) Microsoft Pocket Streets, so I'm pretty much confident that the port would be COM5.
Yet when I confirm this, it still says <unplugged/setup wrong>... and the blue LED on Clip-on does not pulsate just like it does when there is the reception with other working software...
Wrote e-mail to AA support (I'm no fool to ring £1 / minute support line...) and waiting the answer... not going to resort back to TomTom...
I'm using these three items. Although the M1000 appears to see the Bluetooth GPS receiver, when I run Tom Tom, I'm told "No GPS Device". I've tried the various configurations and selected "Other Bluetooth GPS" and "GPS is connected to ... BT on Com 6" but still get the "No GPS Device" message. Where am I going wrong
Go through each of the Bluetooth devices and keep checking on status page to see if arrows flow from icon to icon if they dont then that device is not compatible it should only be linked on Bluetooth GPS not really com 6
be sure your device is correct either SIRF or NMEA or just use tom tom wireless device and see which connects

Does anybody know how to get the XDA EXEC to work with BT GPS
FGPXBT02 as I am really struggling to get this device to work. My phone can see the device in bluetooth but when I run TomTom 5 on the phone the program cannot see the GPS device in the "OTHER BLUETOOTH RECEIVERS" section
Any ideas?
create a outgoing com(0-10) port unsecured
then select that com port in your tomtom by selecting different GPS receiver
Scouse - please modify topic title to give more helpful info...

hi viper thanks for info tried that but the tomtom software does not see com0 in the other bluetooth receiver section. this is the problem i am having.
Don't use "Other Bluetooth", use "Other Wired GPS receiver" and select the com port there. I think if you select a Bluetooth GPS, TomTom will try to find the device for itself rather than using the connection you've configured manually.
Hi I have tomtom 5 and the BT device is on Com8 I just tried all com ports until one worked. Its set to other bluetooth and connects everytime.
would prefer it to automatically set though.

worked for me on my exec..... enjoy
I installed tom tom on my 8525. when I ran the program it will only allow me to use com 3,7 and 6 for the blue tooth gps. My phone will not allow me to use those com's to set up the gps receiver. any ideas?
you have to go into settings - connections -external gps. gps program port choose com2. hardware choose com4. access-uncheck manage gps.
also go settings-bluetooth com port. select new outgoing port. choose com2 and finish. start tomtom and go to setup you should now see a com 2 available to pick.try this it is what i had to do to get my tomtom to work .
External gps does not show up under connections. I installed navigator 6 on my phone hoping that would help but now it does not find my maps. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I did set my phone to com 2 but it was not one of the coms that show up in navigator 5. All that was there was 3,7 and 8.
thanks
i have a xda trion and have installed tom tom software. Problem is i cannot get a gps signal. Within the tom tom software what type of gps receiver do i set it to or am i missing something more obvious. Any help appreciated.
What kind of GPS receiver are you using? If you're using a bluetooth receiver other than the TOMTOM one, you have to discover your GPS, then, after you've paired with it, go into the COM port tab of BT devices and add a serial port, and select your receiver.
In TOMTOM select "OTHER" BT GPS and select the COM port you created.
I don't know what you need to do with the TOMTOM receiver. I assume it's similar.
I have tried to select the requested com port(3 or 7) and it rejects it with "the COM port could not be created. please check your settings and try again" i have no other programs using GPS.

I use com 2 on mine
oh right. but tomtom asks for ports 3 or 7 to be used. can i ignore it. and use to. is there anything else on the phone i need to set ?

In bluetooth settings > com ports what com port do you have? If you don't have one create an outgoing port, I have mine set on com4 and in Tomtom my gps is set as other bluetooth gps receiver and select com4.
