Solution for M$ stack Magician and FS Loox 720, but other pda too.
1. Install and run Bluesoleil BT stack, use the PDA without GPRS.
2. Edit registry \\HKLM\ExtModems\
- create MyBlueDialup section
- in the MyBlueDialup add below values:
[list:ee01889b06][DWORD] DeviceType = 1
[STRING] FriendlyName = MyBlueModem
[STRING] Port = COM3:
[/list:u:ee01889b06]
3. Select network: Start > Settings > Connections > Connections > Advanced > Select_Networks:
Programs_that_automatically_connect_to_the_Internet_should_connect_using = My_Work_Network
Programs_that_automatically_connect_to_a_private_network_should_connect_using = My_ISP
Of course, I know what it is nonsense, but another variant of decision wasn’t found. It looks like Bluesoleil bug.
4. Create new connection: Start > Settings > Connections > Connections > My_Work_Network > Add_a_new_modem_connections:
Enter_a_name_for_the_connection = MyBlueConnect
Select_a_modem = MyBlueModem
…then enter your operator’s settings
5. Run Bluesoleil Bluetooth Manager:
- find GPRS PDA: Act > Device_Nearby
- select it in the list of devices and get list of available services(double click)
- select Bluetooth Dial-Up service
STOP! Enter nothing in the next page.
6. Run MyBlueConnect connection.
That’s all. Enjoy the GPRS by BT between couple of PDA.

THANKS OF NEW BUT NOTHING
I HR the pda and reinstall AS and BT SW
Thanks
I'm not sure what i did but it works - that's all what counts
By the way - what is BT soft ?
mine is widcomm

did you use comport 20 for you activesync connection?
no i haven´t got 20 port available ...
thanks of new
I think I've got it
But it's a little tricky
1. Delete all connections on Pc and PPC
2. Start the Setup-Assistent and choose I want to find
3. Initiate Paaring
4. Choose ActiveSync without secure connection.
5. Set com20 if possible.
6. Please go to your ppc properties on your pc and allow active sync
If you coose com20 you can quit here, if not try this:
7. Start->Run->Regedit
8. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WIDCOMM\BtConfig\Services\
9. Search the folder with Name=ActiveSync (I have 0010)
10. Change the ComPortNumber to 20.
11. Search with your PPC the services on your pc and take activesync
12. Go to the preferences of your bluetooth-enviroment of your pc and take the tab local services. Now change the com-port number of your activesync service to an existing one (I have 4).
Now it should work
km
What if my computer does not show Activesync as a bluetooth option. I can get PIM synchronization but no Activesync. How do I go about adding Activesync as a service my computer can use?
I think the Activesync service is nothing else then a serielle connection called "ActiveSync" with com-port 20. Just create this on manually.
i think tomorrow we have a new rom version, a uninstall AS, and HR to the ppc, then i do this test...
thanks
I have the same problem, when I try to connect from the PPC it says there's no partnership with an AS enabled PC. And when pairing / updating services, the PPC sees serial and handsfree services on the PC, but no AS. Partnership is established, it works fine over USB.
Like miguelromerom I also use the Widcomm stack. Mine is urrently version 5.0.1.1400. I tried several older versions as well.
On the PC I have an incoming bluetooth serial port at COM 4, which is named "My ActiveSync". Secure connection not checked. AS 4.1 is set to allow connections on COM 4. The service on the PC is active.
On the PPC I had optionally configured serial ports: incoming (7), and outgoing (6) to the PC. Set the non secure. Though I'm not sure if either of them is required. I suppose we're all agreeing the port numbers on the PPC bear no relation to the port numbers on the PC?

I also tried this. I still see no AS service from the PPC when doing this. It is not possible to select COM20 in the AS 4.1 connection settings.

ActiveSync via Bluetooth
I am not sure how it will go with Wizard, but with Magician it help me.
I found this step, but I forgot the origin. So actually no permission from the author. I share this with hope can help others. Hopefully the author understand.

1)On your PC go to the Control Panel and select "Bluetooth". In the "Options" tab, make sure all the ticks are on. You'll now see a little bluetooth icon on your system tray. Makes it easier to access in the future. Your PC should also be ready to be found as long as you ticked the fist box in the step above.
2)On your Jam, Go to Start, Settings, System (Tab), Bluetooth Settings. On the screen that comes up you ONLY want to hit start. Leave the incoming and outgoing checkboxes OFF!!!
3)You will now be taken to the partnership screen, where you just follow the instructions to add your PC. Follow through until you hit finish. Close everything down until you're back at the today screen.
4)Back to your PC, double click on the Bluetooth icon in your system tray. Go to "Com Ports" (Tab) and click "Add". Choose incoming. A You'll see an incoming port added to the list (probably be the only item there). It should look like "COM X Incoming"
Remember what number is after COM. Close all windows, making sure you hit OK or Apply where you have to.
5)Open Active Sync on your PC. Hit File, Connection Settings. Enable the first tick, and select the COM port you had to remember in the previous step. Hit OK
6)Open Active Sync on your Jam. Choose Tools, Connect Via Bluetooth.

Hi all,
i have recently bought a laptop and as i am away alot, it would be helpful for me to connect to the internet through my phone. e.g. use my phone as a modem. However i cannot find any documentation on how to do this?
Can anyone tell me if this is possible, and how? I have tried through activesync but no luck.
If you could let me know that would be brilliant!
Thanks
Yeah its possible... just finished setting it up on mine This site helps:
http://www.filesaveas.com/gprsconnect.html
But i'll walk you through cos it took me a while to get it to work...
Firstly, are you on pay monthly or pay as you go?
There should be a program on you're XDA called "Modem Link" that is used for this. You can do it either over USB or infrared, though i recommend USB cos its much faster
Open this program and choose usb, then pick the Access Point you use to connect to GPRS normally on youre phone (check in the connection settings to see which AP corresponds to which settings if you need to) then press activate.
Now connect your phone to the laptop with the usb cable, and the new hardware wizard will pop up. Allow it to search the internet (you need a connection) and it'll install it automatically for you.
Then, On the PC, go to the Networking section of the Control Panel (Start > Settings > Control panel > Network)
Select "Make new connection" (this should start a setup wizard)
Choose "Dial up to Internet"
Choose the "connect via a modem" option
Enter the telephone number to dial as *99# (No area code, and turn off dialing rules)
Username for Pay Monthly is: o2wap
and for Pay and Go is: payandgo
Password for both is: password
When complete, go to Control panel > networks, and right-click on the icon for your GPRS connection. Choose properties and set the following: Connect Using - select your modem (infrared / USB)
You need change one other thing - to do with your modem settings. Do this as follows:
Go to Start > Settings > Control panel > Modems
On the Modems tab, select your modem, and press Properties
On the Advanced tab, you need to enter string in "Extra initialization commands". This initialisation string will need to be entered as:
+CGDCONT =1,"IP","wap.o2.co.uk" (for contract)
or
+CGDCONT =1,"IP","payandgo.o2.co.uk" (for PAYG)
Note the space before the =1. obviously dont include the bit in brackets.
I found I then needed to go into internet explorer and go on Internet Options > connections tab > choose "dail when network connection not present"
and then select the GPRS connection you made earlier > press settings > enable proxy server.
use the following ip address for the proxy server:
193.113.200.195
Now, I'm not sure which port number you will need, because it says to use 9201 but that didn't work for me, i use 8080. try both and see which will lets you load up a page.
press ok and try to load a page in IE. dial you connection when asked and it should work. try google as a test.
Tell me if you run into any problems.. I have it working on my pay as you go sim.. I have no idea if it will work on pay monthly, you might need to try using some of these settings:

Anyone who has the cab settings or the manual procedure?
If you have no luck here, contact Smart and they should be able to send them to your phone.

I'm sure someone may find this helpful though...and I'm sure that's why you posted this.
For sure.
Hello! I have a problem with WLAN. I couldn't find where to set up my proxy and port settings for WLAN. If I go to the start > settings > conections I can't set up a wireless network, just 3g, bluetooth etc. (but there are settings for proxy), but if I go to start > settings > network cards and then tap Add new there are just options that i need exept those two. Help me please!
P.S. I have WM5 and Qtek 9000 (HTC Unversal)
OK, after about 10 minute trying, I finally get it done.
When you select one AP name in Wi-Fi setting,it will ask which profile will the connection connects to.( I use Chinese version, I guess it will be "Default Internet" and "Default Company" ).The two connection is the two you select in setting->connection->connection->advance tab, the upper is "Internet" the lower is "Company", and you can make a new profile here using the "New" button, here you will find proxy setting and enter some proxy , because you are just using this profile in wi-fi ,so the "moderm" can be left blank.
When you have done the setting, you can turn on Wi-Fi, browse some web site, in taskMgr(additional application I installed) you will find the ppc has establish a tcp connection to the proxy server you set up.
