UNLOCKING UNIVERSAL

My Question is if you can down grade the universal to WM2003SE
if you can do that you can use the unlock code we got on this forum
and if it is unlocked up grade to magneto (windows2005)
has anny one done this[/b]

Wouldnt make any difference as the Lock is held in the Radio Rom I beleive.
There also is no wm2003se for universal, it was designed as a 2005 device from start to end.
Nice idea, but I think making a working Unlock tool for the standard universal is a better idea.

is the o2 exec locked at all?
im travelling a lot between germany and uk, and therefore want to use my o2 plan simcard as well as my german eplus simcard.
The shop assistant in the o2 shop told me that i CAN use non-O2 simcards in the universal (o2 xda exec) without any problem. Could I also use a Orange PAYG simcard?
How much was it to officially unlock the phone?

Ive not received mine yet, but its possible they dont lock it. Unlikely though.
Can anyone with an Exec confirm if its provider locked?

Mine was unlocked on delivery. Also if you search these forums everyone else is reporting theres where not locked.

Can confirm that my Exec wasn't locked, tried both a Vodafone SIM and an Orange PayGo SIM with no problem.

theres no point downgrading to wm2k3....you'll only run into more problems...
wm2k3 is built to share ram for both ram and rom.....so, that means, your 43meg partition would have to be divided....and thats just too bad! So, i guess, you just need to stick with wm5 for the time being....and hope for a good rom update to come by!

How can I unlock my SPV v1640?

How can I remove a sim lock from my SPV v1640? It's HTC Universal based and it requires code when I install sim cards. I suppose that it can only work with SVF sim cards. Can the device be unlocked by SVF for money? I know that T-mobile offers such service for their customers. How can contact SFV?

The only way for you to find out if your operator unlocks it is to call them.
As for that, there is no way other than IMEI check (which costs £50)

My o2 mini S wasnt locked. I put the orange sim in and it all works. Is that normal?

Yup, often orange cards work in o2 devices i found.

That's because All O2 contract phones are supplied unlocked nowadays

[Q] Trophy sim unlock

Hey there.
I have just won a HTC Trophy on a seminar. Despite the system's limitations, the phone is great, super-fast, great screen, good sound quality...
There is only one thing that is keeping me from using it.
It is locked and works only with vodafone (Portugal) sim cards, and with other carriers sim cards it asks for a unlock code.
Is there any way to get this code? Any website (I'm willing to pay if it is a reasonable price). Vodafone PT says they will unlock it for 99€, which I think is too much.

Hi,
Try contact with Microsoft, they will give you the code, i brougth mine in Spain because in th time was inexistent here in Portugal and it brings the code to unlock.

I'd say find a reputable unlock service online to avoid the hassle of carriers and Microsoft giving you a run around.

Can't Sim Unlock my Galaxy S8

I have purchased a sim locked Galaxy S8. It was originally bought from A1 Austria and i want to use it with 3 Austria. I have ordered an unlock code from sim-unlock.net but they cant unlock that phone. They messaged me that they dont found a code! I also tried it in two local repair shops but they also didnt managed it to get a unlock code for me! Can someone maybe from austria help me how to unlock my phone! I hope to get a answer soon and sorry for my bad english!

Its possible the server there using is given trouble! This basically just means that your phone should still be able to be unlocked but the server they are using is unable to do so at present! I work in a repair shop and the server we use for unlocks is actually rejecting alot of them lately.... particularly Iphones and Samsung! LG, HTC etc are all fine for some reason! Might just be a case of resubmitting the unlock in a few days for it to come back unlocked successfully!

Not really. The only way to check would be to d
submit the unlock and it would be expensive from my end. Much cheaper for you to get it done locally. Some network providers will give you the unlock. Have you contacted ur network provider?

In my local repair shop they wasnt able to unlock it. I also contacted A1 austria (the provider the phone is locked to) and they would charge 150€ for unlocking the phone.
