Hello all,
I tried to setup the TMobile "web and walk" GPRS stuff, but without success.
I get a nice GPRS logo (it's connected) but when going to a webpage it says "can't connect/locate the page".
Using my (local) Wifi connection it works fine, but when on the road I would like to use my GPRS connection...
Note : I'm looking for the Dutch settings...
Thanx in advance,
Michael 8)
Hey Michael,
As far as I know this is the cab file you need to install for the T-mobile settings.
Good luck.
Hey Panja,
Ok, will try it.... Is't that loaded during (re)Flashing the MDa Vario ??
I just reflashed it using the latest (found here) Dutch TMobile 1.6.2.2 ROM (dated 1/11/05)...
Thanx for your help.
Michael 8)
Edit : Tried it, helaas without success !!!??? Anyone who has GPRS active and running in the Netherlands for TMobile ???
Thanx again for you help !!
Michael 8)
Its a cab file that was in the extended rom of a Dutch T-Mobile rom.
Its official and should have all settings for Dutch T-Mobile users.
Hey Panja,
Thanx for your answers and suggestions, but I'm still not able to get a webpage or email when connected using GPRS (tMobile)....
Using Wifi all is ok....
Anyone in the Netherlands who is using TMobile GPRS on his/her MDA Vario can tell me the settings... On the TMobile website they don't even show the MDA Vario settings !!!!??? (only from MDA to MDA II and SDA).
Note : I tried all of them without success...
Thanx for your help and understanding
Michael 8)
The gprs settings are very simple for Dutch TMO.
Just create a 'Cellular line (gprs)' connection with 'access point' internet. That's all no user/password etc., if it doesn't work it might be your radio.
Cheers, M
Hey oltp,
Looks like I was thinking to technical to establish a GPRS connection, and I was looking at other (TMobile GPRS pages/set-up's).
This did the trick !!!! So simple !!!???
Thanx again for your help.

I updated my rom to 2.26 english version and lost the wifi settings for t-mobile netherlands. Can someone please help me because I don't understand Dutch.
check oltp posting (above) on Jan 09, 2006, you should see the gprs settings for t-mob NL.
if you stil have some trouble go to the xda-developer ftp site from wiki xda-developer. There's a pdf file for HTC wizard settings for dutch operators.
cheers,
thanks for that. Couldn't find the .pdf file but did find a .cab file with settings which I'll try.

What version of WM2003 you are using?
Did you setup your network band setting? click phone/tool/option/band 900/1900.
See my post on this: you might have to change back the band with Bootloader/Calendar button: if you change something under the Tab Band in Phone settings, you can not use your phone anymore (in Europe). Don't ask me why, I had the same problem. If I don't touch the Phone Setting menu, everything works.
Hello..
I am using version 4.2.1081 (build 13100) and I did choose the 900 network for Europe... but still no work
And the worst of all.. Unfortunately no backup.
Did you choose the 900-band with the bootloader/calendar option or through the phone/settings menu? i could only change it with the bootloader, I have the same version as you have.
Hi Rick
Right now, looking through forum, to find out what the bootloader method is.. Can you enlighten me??
Thanks in advance
The same my XDA 3 weeks ago
http://xda-developers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1687&start=100
Note: have to HOLD the JOYSTICK for confirmation of the selected band then soft reset

Hi OCMAX,
Do you know the way to set the Maxis GPRS in WM2003.
I had tried two ways but it doesn't work at all after the upgrading:
First setting
-------------
1. Modem : Cellular Line
2. Number : +0~GPRS!net
Second setting
----------------
1. Modem : Cellular Line (GPRS)
2. Access point name: net
The username and password for both setting are maxis and wap.
Would you please share your experience ? Thanks !
Regards,
Vince

@Lars

I had the same problem and I switched back to the old radio version and now it works...
I think the radio upgrade does not work in Europe. Since in the US they have 900/1900 band and in the EU 900/1800. I'm a little bit confused because also the 900 carriers (here in Germany two: TMO and vodafone (D2) are not detected. Why?

Went you in the bootloader band selection. scroll down to the setting using your joystick and push the action button (center of the joystick).
1) select the network 900/1800 or 900/1900 and push action button
2) select to ON the GSM and push action button
It will prompt you when done.
You need to go to the O2 site and down load the European radio stack 4.21. You can't use a US radio stack on a European XDA and vice versa. The O2 4.21 stack will install from an .exe so it is easy to do and it workd with the WME 2003 4.00.10.
Do you know their site.. have searched on Google wo result !!
Cheers,
Lars

Hi All,
I hope someone here can help me with this. I have a T-Mobile MDA, i was playing around with O2 site and i found the Radio Stack Upgrade 4.21. I upgraded it and after the upgrade was finished successfully, the Phone doesn't want to get service... asa it opens up it gives me the Antena and an ! next to it and says No Service.
What could be the problem and how can i get back the old stack.
Hope that someone can HELP me..
Thanks a lot in advance
Hi, if I'm understanding your problem correctly then what I suggest is:
Go to Start-Settings-System and select the Auto-Configuration application. This should allow you to choose your operator from a list and it will then auto configure your GSM/GPRS settings and reset the device, after which it should work.
Good luck
Steve
Hi
I cant' find any Auto-Configuration app what is it called?

I have a t-mobile mda compact branded jam with an o2 sim card. Can i just download the gprs settings off the i mate website and they woill work for it?

OK, i have finally taken the plunge and got a working ROM dump from my v1640. I have tested this rom, and it can be flashed back and it works (includeds the extended rom and version 1.09.00 radio).
If anyone wants this ROM, please post here and i will upload it to the FTP (I don't want to go wasting space on the FTP site, or my upload allowance if no-one is going to use it)
I know that this is an older ROM, but with all the new ROMs from other providers out, and the lack of one from Vodafone, i know that some people will be wanting to upgrade to a new ROM, but will be wary to do so without the option to go back to original. There may also be people who want to experiment and see how this rom performs compared to other ROMs.
I also have the ms_.nbf file for the extended rom if anyone wants it seperately.
Great,
I'm really interested. In fact I'mplanning to upgrade my v1640 ITalian version and I'd like to have a backup.
I assume your image is the English one.
Could you send to me an howto dump my Italian image?
Or maybe I can try with some product like sprite clone?
Thank you
Lupick
OK, basically i have outlined the procedure below (thanks to buzzdev and this site for all the great information)
First, you need a "host" rom upgrade to butcher. what you need to do is use winzip to unpack the exe into a file. you can delete the nk.nbf that is extracted.
http://buzzdev.net/component/option...view/id,8573/catid,33/limit,15/limitstart,30/
I used these instructions to dump the rom (its pdocread that you need, so the rapi enable cab)
http://buzzdev.net/content/view/65/115/
I used this to encode the ROM to nk.nbf
You will need to set version and operator code (Voda_001)
http://buzzdev.net/content/view/63/45/
I also unlocked the extended rom, and then decoded the extended rom (ms_.nbf) in the qtek flasher that i was butchering and replaced all the files in the qtek extended rom with all the files from the vodafone extended rom (ms_.nbf).
I also added the 1.09.00 radio image to my sollection of files, just so that the upgrade was in there.
Finally, to make it work, i used the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe to allow me to flash it.
This should give you a working rom, and will also give you the extended rom as a file that you can inject into another operators upgrade utility to have all the nice vodafone settings
Hi
I've been trying to get Vodafone live working on my Jasjar
does the V1640 Rom allow for Vodafone live ?
In that case i would be interested else i'll just wait for the Official Vodafone Live Update
Has anyone else had some luck with VLive?
Unluckilly, i have not got LIve working fully. i have however got it working partially and you do not require the voda rom to do it.
HeliosFA said:
For voda in UK (maybe same for other countries), there are 2 connections required - one for internet, and one for wap. You need the connection details for both (set wap as the default work connection and internet as ISP)
the url for live is wsp://live.vodafone.com
Click to collapse
You will also need to setup the 2 connections as follows (the WAP one is NOT setup by the extended rom cab)

Hello,
Does the extended ROM file have settings for Vodafone SPAIN? for MMS, Vodafone, Live 3G Settings?
Hi
On the New Imate Rom the South Africa Settings for Vodacom Live called vlive! is on the rom but it seems incorrect.
You cannot even connect to 3G or Wap using those settings. We had to re-install the previous Vodacom CAB file to get 3G connectivity working
I took the South AFrican settings of a Nokia 6680 (which connects) and set it up on my Jasjar without success then it's the same I cannot connect
They may just have a setting if Phone=JasJar then access=NOHighWAY Option on their APN
We tried the same settings on a HSDPA card and the same happened but we saw that the vlive! exclamation mark gets lost
Personally i think it's a way to block "unwanted" machines and PC's to access their content as people may be able to copy it, using anything other than a Joda-phone ...
Yes please
I'd like access to the original ROM so if you could upload it that would be great.
OK, gonna zip it and upload it tonight. it will be in the XDA FTP and will be labeled
Pls send me the htp so I can use it too thk you. by the way it wont make my phone lock the signal back again right ? cause now it is unluck to use with any carrier
Dear Heliosfa,
could I have one copy of your V1640 Vodafone UK original ROM ?
I'm so desperated because my old V1640, at this moment, run only in the "bootloader mode" and, if I try to install any coocked ROM not original, the installation stopped at 7% (max 8%) .
Thanks for your help .
Excuse me for my english .
Michele Reale from Campobasso-Italy-
i want to know how to configure my o2 xda neo for MMS and also gprs internet hope somebody got a .cab or .exe to autoinstall these setts on WM6. greets vince
NOTE: its a special provider in germany o2 hope the settings will fit^^
Your Service provider would be able to guide you through the process of setting up the MMS and GPRS service. These settings require Service Provider (SP) specific data as 'access point' etc.
As a pointer for WM5, these would need to be provided in Start - Settings - Connections - Add a new modem connection(under My ISP) and then as the SP guides you further.
Is that an official shipped WM6 ROM or upgraded with one of the ROM's available on this forum?
nope there is no official WM6 rom for the xda neo. its unofficial 4.0.0.5 cross pdaviet rom .
