From that link you only can download version 2.92..!! for 2.93 download from here http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?programId=45&productId=53564
Not working
In my JJ is not working. ROM 1.13.82 from O2.
Ciao
RE
Nope, I got v2.93 from Pocketgear otherwise my system would have flicker and hang which happened for v2.92
Well, trial just expired
Doesn't work at all for me.. Choose cpu speed 624 press ok.. System hangs completely..
Piece of ...
Then I wont try it yet... I had a fit with the first version and my heartbeat went 100x than normal.. haha..
Plus, I've practiced the art of patience. I just wait for the "???" to turn into battery percentage in my today screen (Resco TOday plug in) before clicking the screen. It just takes 10 seconds or so.. better than forcing my device to be faster than it should be..
Works fine with me at 624 mhz.
What is the max speed you have been able to achieve?
Qtek 9000 XCPUscalar working at 624MHz
Seems to be working @ 624MHz, but with Auto Scale selected the speed does not seem to adjust automatically. Just sits there at 624MHz with range of CPU%ages between 32% @ 45% with only Activesync and no other programs running.
Also there seems to be only one 'speed settings' page which only allows scaling up to 624MHz not the 728MHz referred to as being supported. No sign of the 4 tabbed pages (Advanced; Meters and About pages missing) shown on the immiersoft website. This could however be due to running OzVGA.Therefor there seems to be no VGA support either.
Was working @ 624MHz
Further update.
System now hung.
When trying to check 'programs in use' the system just hangs.
Uninstall coming up.
Works like a beauty for me.
Use Advanced speed Settings:
104 mhz 25%
208 mhz 50%
312 mhz 75%
624 mhz >75%
I do not have the courage to try settings fater than 624 mhz. (you need to enable show frequencies above 624 mhz. to do that).
There is a bit of flickering screen flickering filter does not do much).
Main Memory or Stoage Card?
Have you installed to Main Memory, or to Storage Card?
Do not install to Storage Card.
Use Device Memory (same for Tweak2k2).
Now Working, but still no additional tabs
Thanks
Installed now to Main Memory.
Auto Scaling now seems to work, including up to 728MHz.
This seems to have worked and despite short usage time looks more stable than when on Storage Card.
Still only one 'speed settings' tab with no options to adjust thresholds etc.
I assume this must be due to a VGA support problem because the speed settings screen is definately qvga format and not VGA
You have to click on Advanced and there you will get Advanced Speed Settings Iif we are talking about the same thing).

Do you confirm 728 mhz works fine?
There is no 'advanced' button/menu item to select
Thanks for the advice, but as I said in my earlier post, there is only one "speed settings" page.
The only other items are the File; Options and Device menu's.
Swivel the screen around (in "portrait mode" and you should be able to see at the bottom of it Speed Advanced Meters and About (or set resolution to the default one).
OK Sorted
Great
If I exit OzVGA then the tabbed pages appear.
Thanks for your help.
I can see all the advanced speed settings on mine but it won't even run at 663 never mind any higher lol. Just a blank white screen unfortunately.

It's not intended for the Wizard but it works!
There is one limitation though, after standby it reverts back to default.
Thanks to Kremo for this find!
I tried it and it worked!
It said my OMAP is running at 180MHZ! I thougt it is 200Mhz?
So i should be able to boost the speed to 200 Mhz (programm uses 8Mhz steps, so it would be 204Mhz) without any problem?!

on my wizard the about page says 195, TCPMP says 168 and this app says 180...
I used TCPMP to check.
Where do i find that TCPMP?
Sweet, does it speed up both cores? Anyone seen what speed the wizard maxes out at?

wow this is amazing i have been waiting for this forever. my sjphone is really fast now and i have less skipping. my snes emulator runs so much better. thanks for sharing this with us.
wow even skype works great with voice cancelation checked!!!! finally flawless voice over ip
That's all great, but more speed comes with more heat... Does anybody have an idea what this overclocker will do with the cpu? Does the OMAP cpu have a way of measuring the temperature?
Greets,
David
@dafit
If you overdo it,the worst that happens is that it resets itself.
@grinny11
Just don't forget to run the app before you use e.g. Skype because speed goes back to default when you put your phone in standby.
thanks bolasz. the highest stable i get mine to is 264 through the app which reports 250 in tcpmp. if i do anything higher it just freezes and i reset.

P.S Sorry - use translator with russian language on english.
Parameters of the command line
OmapClock -clock <freq> [-confirm] [-launch <path> [-restore]]
-clock <freq>
installs frequency of the processor in MHZ
-confirm
require acknowledgements of the change the frequency
-launch <path>
start the program (the way to reference in rabbit earses!)
-restore
restore former frequency after termination of the uncared-for program (is ignored unless it is given parameter -launch)
Sequence parameter importances has not.
The Examples:
OmapClock -clock 132
OmapClock -clock 144 -confirm
OmapClock -clock 144 -launch "\Storage\test.exe" -restore

Unfortunately yes.
But actualy there is no point to run your device at higher frequency all time.
The -launch parameter as suggested by arc is great to switch to higher freq only when needed e.g when you want to use Skype.
i'm not familiar with command lines for pocket pc. how would i make it so that it overclocks for skype and restores it in the end. do i make some kind of bat file?

Hi!
I was wondering on which speeds people have their Wizards running? I know there are a lot of people using OMAPclock so if you could enter your values into the poll it would be much appreciated. Also with this programm BAtti http://pda.jasnapaka.com/batti/ you can check the temperature of your battery! Wich temp. is acceptabel (is there any relation to the tmp of your processor?
My Wizard is running @ 264 Mhz and in rest, battery tmp. is 28.0c
195mhz
264 solid as a rock
technically....
the poll didn't let me pop my answer in (i run at 228 or 240, both of which are excluded).
i just overclocked to 240 using OMAPclock..
anyway to make sure it really is at 240 though? The system information app in WM5 still says it's 195.. although i think that's just a label.. not a actual clock measure..
You can use TCPMP with a given file to benchmark - just benchmark before and after overclocking
i like to run it on 240mhz but whats with the batt life?
I run at 228,
mine resets sometimes at 240
I got my MDA Vario just for a few weeks...it is a whole lot faster then my previous SonyEricsson P900, so for now I just run at at default speed
Before ROM update = 240mhz consistantly
After ROM update = standard 180mhz.
I run at 216, but it resets it's self at random times.
I've been running my Qtek 9100 at 204 MHz since Sunday with no ill effects. Battery life seems not to have been affected significantly. Still running the original ROM -- I might try an upgrade in a week or two after I've become more familiar with the unit.
264 24/7. no resets
overclocked to 240 with out rest or any problems
Because I use push-mail (so GPRS is on, all the time), and BT is also turned on 24/7, the battery drain is significant. I noticed a major increase in power consumption when I overclocked the CPU. Normally this CPU is smart enough to clock-down when not being used. When using the overclock program, this intelligence is switched off (or doesn't function anymore), resulting (in my specific situation), in a battery life of about 12 hours. When I run the CPU at default speed, it easily manages to live for 24-36 hours without craving for an outlet socket
264mhz on omap but it tells me 250mhz on tcpmpm.
(i'm posting this using my wizard, why is it putting two spaces?)
With the latest ROM I find the standard speed is adequately fast now, so I run mine at standard speed but increase to 240 when using skype to get rid of the choppy sound, reverting to standard when I close skype.
( I use a modified shortcut for Skype which automatically launches OmapClock and increases the speed when I start Skype and reverts to standard speed when I close skype).

How do did you create such a shortcut? I would like to overclock only when using TomTom.
I have got my Vario on 240 Mhz now. I have flashed it with the new Qtek rom (release 24 march 2006).
But even after installing memmaid, I can't keep it at 240 Mhz after waking up. It will be set back to 180 Mhz
I did make a new Event in Memmaid after waking up, but that doesn't work.
Or could it be because I did not register Memmaid yet?
1-2tje -
Extract the attached file to a new directory on your device called 'omap'.
In File explorer you should see the omapclock.lnk with a tomtom icon, and when you launch it it should start tomtom.
If not, then open the omapclock.lnk in 'Notes' and alter the location and/or name of the tomtom executeable.
To check the speeds, launch omapclock.exe before launching the shortcut and see what the speed is. Close omapclock.exe then launch the shortcut. While tomtom is running open omapclock.exe again and check the speed. Close tomtom and after 10 seconds check the speed again - it should be back to normal.

I love OC'ing my wizard as its much quicker and now i can playback large video and FLAC audio files streamed over my wireless network. Opera does not freeze so often. Huge thanks to the person made omapclock.
However i am confused as to what speed my wizard is really running at. Omapclock reckons its 252, TCPMP thinks its 232 and 'system information' always says 185, although i guess does not check the actual current speed and just reports the default.
So which is correct?

Neither is correct both have the multiplier wrong.(omapclock multiplier is 12 and real speed multiplier is 13) True reading is given bt battery status plugin or sktools device info.
Eg - omapclock speed of 240Mhz equates to a true speed of 260Mhz so your true speed will be 273Mhz
Hi Guys,
Pretty impressed with this site, the dedication and commitment everyone here has.
Just thought to pick minds....
Which is better of the 2 clocking apps : OMAP (of which I could only find ver 0.2) or BatteryMeter , gives the best overall performance vis installation file size and continous use ?
Your thoughts please
AD10
I think they are the same thing, BatteryMeter provides the nice user friendlier interface that invoke OMAP (or you mean OmapClock?). For small size, OMAP is a command line simple tweak etc, but maybe difficult to set up, esp if you want it to be still around after suspending your phone. So, probably for start, try the Bmeter.
Don't you mean BatteryStatus instead of BatteryMeter?
Anyway, BatteryStatus, despite the name, has also overclocking features and has the advantage that the settings remains if you perform a reset. As far as I know, Omapclock does not.

Thanks guys,
Yes I meant BatteryStatus and OMAPClock.
I have tried both, and stuck to BatteryStatus - offers more information and seems to be constantly supported by Kai.
OmapClock and batteryStatus read different clocks
I used OMAPCLOCK to set the clock to 208 MHZ, however batterystaus, even not using its overclock function reads it as 221 MHZ instead.
Which one to trust???
Tks
I used OMAP for a while, but I was able to overclock max 246, now I use batterystatus and I OC to 286 without any problem. (Also BS has many more features over OMAP)
Hi everyone,
I was not able to adjust CPU speed in System menu, because the is no such. I installed BatteryStatus and it detected 312MHz. Is there any way to check/adjust system performance?

Ah yes, you may be right. I installed Pocket Hack Master 4.00 and I noticed when I unplugged the power, the CPU speed dropped down to CPU 100Mhz, Bus 104, Mem 52, LCD 52
and when I plugged in the power adaptor the speed became
CPU: 624Mhz, Bus 208Mhz, Mem 104Mhz, LCD 104Mhz
It seems that Athena has already Scaling feature bulit-in. Awesome! but with PHM you can go into advance and then tick checkbox: Disable Device Built-In Scaling. And You would be running Athena always at full speed non-stop!! woohoo!!
And watch the battery last 2 minutes Boohoo.
There was a reason it autoscales! But yes, it kinda sucks that they say its great because of this 620mghz cpu, then run it at 100mghz half the time.
This is very interesting information. I see the wait icon quite often and wondered if the device was running at full speed! I think I'll get PHM!

It keeps locking up my machine when I load it.
Worked long enough to test one speed setting (the normal high one), then every time I start it up it locks up.
Glad it's a trial. Seems to lock up on the nag screen, so the developers will get an email saying "Um. This locks up when it nags me to buy it, so I won't".

You'll need to go into settings, then advanced and check off the box to disable built-in auto scaling. Two auto scalers working at the same time would definately give you grief.

Sorry, I really don't know, but it does allow you to change CPU speed on fly (after you've set your favorite speeds), which makes a pretty useful tray icon. Though I hate to waste screen real estate, too! If I find out a way, I'll post it here.
