CALLER GROUPS - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hi,
I have searched all this site, and most of the web but could not find any software or plug-in that assigns ringtones, pictures for a group. Let me exlpain;
In my previous Nokia's, when you assign a member/contact to a group it inherits the picture, ringtone, and whether to inform about his "call" in a profile from that group settings.
And you can assign more than one contact (in my case usually hundereds as I have over 1200 contacts all the time) to a group by just clicking it or by multiple selections....
Is anyone aware of such a software or script?
Best of wishes for 2006

the unit itself has a software called caller_id. there are other software available mortring (freeware) and ringtonex doesn't support photos. i use photo contacts pro and has everything you require.

Love PhotoContactsPro, only takes up 1MB space on your storage. I tried Mobile Contacts Phone Edition but found it very slow on startup (even when installed in RAM) but PhotoContactsPro has abundantly more features and price is the same.

A decent Caller Photo application?

Alow, for the last 4 days that i have my JAM i have concluded that the bundled caller ID that displays contact photos SUCKS!!
first of all i dont like applications that are slow, means they are badly coded, and caller id takes like 10 seconds to load my 260 contacts database. Other than that it seems too buggy and not usable enought.
I have also tried Photo Contacts which seems a nice alternative however the lack of an easy way to add contact pictures have put me off buying it. I dont wanna name files in order to assign contact pictures. Throught the contact list could have been superb. Althought the full screen contact pictures are awesome.
Any alternatives to them? or shall we start coding?
My wish is an application that use the photo from the contact.
In Outlook2003 you can assign photos to your contacts why not use them?
for that we will need to wait until WM5, if i am not mistaken in WM5 Pocket outlook supports contact pictures and hopefully activesync 4 will sync them as well.
Take a look at Photo Contacts v1.1 where you can assign photos from within the program. Works like a charm!
How do you do that? Its that one i hav tried, th trial version
Loboman can you send me your version to try it out to [email protected] ? it seems that the demo is version 1.0 and not 1.1!
Of course, I spend over $20 to get this program for my PDA2k (and now my JAM), and some guy posts the full, latest version right here.
DOH!

Have to admit, though, it's way better than IA Caller ID and it's full screen!

Pocket Informant, Finding Contacts Online (GAL)

I've recently installed Pocket Informant on my 8125 and love it - highly recommended to anyone who does anything with the PIM functions of their device.
There is one feature of the built-in contacts program that is missing from Pocket Informant that I use all the time - "find online" (interfaces directly with the global address book on an exchange server - I use it to track down contact info for coworkers who are not in my personal contacts list). I don't want to give up PocketInformant but need this feature to be available.
I know that one option is to simply not have PI register itself as the default contacts/calendar program -
What I'd rather do is keep PI as the default and just know that I can use the find online feature when I want. Does anyone know of a way to create a shortcut to actually run the built-in contacts program (so I can bypass any registry changes PI makes)? Alternatively (and even better, possibly) - anyone have an idea of how to call up the "find online" feature directly?
How did you get Pocket Informant to install on your 8125. Everytime I have tried to load it the install failes out with incorrect OS message.
Make sure it's the most current version. I had to upgrade the version I bought when I had my Ipaq 2 yrs. ago.

Contact Program Suggestions

Hi All,
I'm looking for a new contact program that is compatible with Outlook. I am currently using PhotoContactsPro and thought it was pretty great but did have a few issues with it - so new phone = possibly new program.
Things I need it to have:
1. Compatible with Outlook
2. Photo capability - even better - select contacts by photo option - since I can't remember names to save my life
3. Capability to set rigntones according to group or category. We would prefer if we can set MP3 ringtones!!
PhotocontatPro did all of this but I had problems with the address display - which I need since I am always on the road and need to see where I'm trying to go.
Looking for suggestions or warnings of programs to stay away from based on peoples experiences. THANKS!!!
photo contacts pro has worked great for me..

mail account missing send/receive button

Dear all,
i'm used to use Himalaya/Andes.
when i using my mail account, how do a do a fast send/receive.
On my previous Himalaya, there was a button on the bottom of the screen.
Can i change this?
ROM 1.13.62 WWE
Radio 1.04.10
ext ROM 1.13.9030
In a word, no. You have to select the send/receive option from the menu.
A lot of WM5 apps are missing their toolbars, and therefore missing a lot of their functionality.
A lot of third party apps will have the toolbars included (TCPMP, Resco Photo Viewer, etc), but not sure if there is a messaging program available. I'm sure someone else will dive in here and suggest one tho

Trinity , why so slow????.

I just purchased the Trinity. Installed HTC official rom upgrade (GPS enable).
I found the device is very slow in alunching applications.
For my work i need to manage about 6000/7000 outlook contacts and activesync everyday with my office server.
I previously owned a qtek9090 (blue Angel) with PPC2003 and worked quite ok (syncronize time abt 30 mints) . With the Trinitry it took me abt 3-4 hours and then i had to stop syncronization.
When i opened "contacts" with the Blue Angel it took me fraction of a second to open the Contacts' windows.
Now with the Trinity it takes about 15 secs!!!!
All the commands of Trinity are reacting much slower than the Blue Angel.
How it can be? Being a new device running WM5, isn't it supposed to be faster than the old Blue Angel?
Anyone experienced same problem? Anyone can give suggestions?
USB sync or OTA? Exchange2003?
You should check out Pocket Mirror. It will sync anything you can see in Outlook. I have nearly 1000 contacts and sync my Trinity with our Exchange public addresses. It takes about 10 seconds.
It will organize your contacts into categories on your Trinity automatically if you have contacts in multiple folders. If you view by category and not try to display all 6000 at once, you may find it to be quite fast.
WM5 is slower than 2003 but newer devices tend to be faster than older ones.
I had a Blue Angel also
We had a similar query when WM5 came out, but I can't remember if there was a fix!
It seems that WM5 handles Activesync contacts differently to WM2003, and all PIM data is now held in a file called PIM.Vol in main memory, ratehr than in separate 'databases'. 7000 contacts is a huge amount for the system to aggregate, which is why it is so slow.
I'll try & look out some of the previous responses.
Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any answer to your woes- a Contact list of 7000 is simply too big for the memory available in WM5.
A MS article Here gives the bad news
