Hey,
I've got an XDA Mini S with the original O2 ROM. I've heard that the XDA can't use other ROMS very easily because the keyboard mapping is different to all the other Wizard variants? Is this true?
If not, which ROM is the best? Is it the new T-Mobile one?
Cheers.
Anyone?
the mappnig is not that different... its just the symbols on the 3rd row are to the left from the 'b' key. And and from 'h' key on the 2nd row, iwith the addition of the euro and £ symbols... otherwise its fine

i just got the dopod cht900 and it has the chinese keyboard and rom. i got it flashed to the english rom.
however, it seems that the keyboard secondary buttons (the one where you need to press the blue dot before pressing the key) are not in the right place. for example, on the keyboard it shows '!' if I press the 'W' key but instead it turns out to be '?'
is there any way to overcome this problem by hacking the registry and if so, where can i do it?
any help given is much appreciated.
This has been asked before in that forum, search b4 posting plz.

Thanks for your help. Didnt see this when I was looking thru earlier. By the way, I can only use the second solution as the first does not work right?
right, and if the second isn't good for you you can try the first and modify the wiki adding the thing that works for you giving adivse to others... that's what's all about!

All Keys AlphaNumeric and Symbols are Working Except for TAB Keys
I change the Reg Settings for Keyboard Layout from 20409 to 20404.
The Results are all AlphaNumeric and Symbols are in place and perfectly working but the only problem is the TAB Key is not working totally no response.
Any help you pls need your instruction?
Jesus loves you all
Here's my PCM Human Keyboard. The keyboard has Symbol pad's fully integrated into it.
By holding down letters keys , you'd be able to get the capital letters. For example, holding down "a" will show all the "A" and so on.
Holding down "123#?" will show all the symbols including the smileys.
Holding down "shift" shall also show you the smileys.
Holding down "." gives you ","
Holding down "+" gives you "-".
The keyboard is based on the English layout. If you native language is not English, then you have to change the layout lines accordingly for you commonly use. Everything else should work regardless of the base layout.
WOW very good work shekhar..Keep it UP

You dont need to as I feel. Because when you long press "." you get ",". Similarly for longpress "+" you get "-".
I have edited the first post accordingly.

I have a 20 key HTC Touch Dual 850 and was wondering if a app was available where you can have an apple style on screen keyboard. There is a thread where a 16 key has this style keyboard popping up. Please see link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=79365&d=1207314335
Any help on this would be great!!!

I tried the pocketcm keyboard and liked it alot. However, It mad writing sms much harder. I swap between swedish and english quite alot and the skortcut key didn't work after installation of pocketcm. So I had to remove their keyboard to get this feature back.

TouchPal just came up with a new version that I believe you can switch between different languages with ease. I only use english so have never tried, but it's supposed to be pretty nice.
Hi my first time posting here, so sorry if this question was already asked.
My 8525 keyboard has letters that do not match the key symbol. It only happens on the shift characters and not the letters. It seems they are off by one or two keys at times. Are there any fixes or has anyone else had this problem.
Thanks all great site by the way !
mine is softbank X01HT - Japanese version
So to overcome the unmatch keyboad letter - i use japanese setting layout keyboard
Anyone knows how i could do a @ with the keys of the samsung keyboard ECR-K10D?
It doesnt have a key for it and i dont know any keyboard combination?
Thx for answer ... and @samsung ... what do u think, that people dont need the @? Lol
J.
I can't say for the QWERTZ keyboard, but on the UK QWERTY keyboard @ is pretty much in the same position as it is on my laptop - just above and slightly to the left of the right hand shift key.
Regards,
Dave
Hmm, i will send a photo. Could it be, that the qwertz keyboard doesnt have this key? ok, if this stupid thing is reality. .. is there any app in the market, which let me change the keys on the samsung ecr-k10d keyboard?
I will attach a photo of my qwertz-version of the keyboard.
thx for more answers.
sincerly daJhoony
Where is @ on your "soft" QWERTZ keyboard?
Regards,
Dave
I have to hold the ".,?" key, to get the small popup windows with a @ in it. Or the "123" button opens a small popup, with the @ inside.
Any ideas?
When all else fails, read the manual.
@Paten ... verry funny hint. I allready read it, before i post anything. So, is there way to change the assignments of the keyboard?
Thx
Have you tried holding shift while hitting every key to see if one is the @ symbol? If shift doesn't work, try ctrl and alt as well.
Hm, no way. I've tried every combination, every key with Shift and CTRL. The keyboard dont have an alt-key. It looks, like samsung got a big plan, what comes after the internet...
or the hole qwertz-team is a gang of idiots...
Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk
well before thrashing on samsung and the team, its already weird enough on QWERTZ using pop up to get the @
how bout your original QWERTZ keyboard on computer maybe, how to get the @?
or maybe you can ask samsung center directly who sells it, and they can ask their technician to give you the proper answer
I got the UK version today and it has the @ button.
What a fantastic keyboard btw !!
Glad i read this topic

For me using the QWERTY Keyboard from Samsung the SHIFT-2 (like a normal US keyboard and how it's labeled on the samsung keyboard) gives me a double qoute (")... So I tried using the SHIFT-" (double quote key) and it gives you the @ key that you are looking for.
So it looks like the keys are reversed.
