Copy MiniSD - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I like to upgrate to a larger MiniSD card.
How can I copy all files from one card to the new one without reinstalling all programs?
Thank you

use a memory cards reader to copy all the files from the old minisd to a folder on your pc then copy them back to new minisd

or copy files to pc using activsync then copy back on to new card

Slow copy to SD card on JAMin?

I just got myself a 2gb SD card for my JAMin. I want to copy wikipedia file which is 1gb in size, when I drag the file into my storage from my PC it seems to take forever and not actually copy??
also what is the most efficient format method for 2gb sd card? fat 16 32k?
Yes copying via Pocket PC and computer will take long I would advise investing in a USB 2.0 card reader. (Fat32.)
Or you can use your Prophet as a card reader by using CardExport II or a free app called WM5torage 1.53.CAB attached below.

Migrate SD card to another (Program files ok?)

I install most of my programs onto my SD card. I just got a 1gig SD card and wanted to know if it's safe just to transfer the files over and pop it into my phone. Will all my installed programs still work as if nothing happened or do I need to do anything extra?
Hi,
Yes, that should be fine, I've copied the contents of the SD card to my PC a few times now as it's a little dodgy and had become corrupt.
If it happens I just format it on the PC then copy the contents back to it again and all is well.
Cheers,
D.
Not in my case
All files are there and seen but all programs won't run after migrating , via a card reader under WinXP , from 1G to the new 2G SD card . I have to reinstall every single program on the new card to get them work ! I'd tried both FAT and FAT32 format . Any idea why ?
1. copy all files from sd card to PC
2. Install Pocket Mechanic Professional or Flash Format 2.80 into the main memory of phone. (Free trial)
3. place SD card back into phone
4. Format the card in the phone using Pocket Mechanic Professional or Flash Format 2.80.
5. Copy all files back over from the PC to the SD Card.
6. Try to run a program.

Dumb SD card question...

OK... being used to Nokia I just want to double check something before I do it... This is how I would upgrade a memory card on the Nokia.
If I load my SD card into a reader or mount it on my Mac desktop via the USB cable, then copy its contents to a folder... will I be able to just copy the contents back (keeping the directory structure in place) to a new card and everything will work as normal but I get more free space on the new larger capacity card.
I will of course format the new card in the Hero before copying back.
Also, is it OK to rename the card currently in the Hero ?
Its called NO NAME and so is my Windows partition... I get confused Will it confuse the Hero to rename the card ?
cheers
The OS your working on deals with putting the files correctly into the file system of the card so don't worry.
And I wouldn't think the hero should rename the card.
Thx.
And I mean not the Hero renaming the card, me renaming it... will the Hero balk at the name change ?

just bought a new sd card

is it simply a case of copying and pasting from the old card ?
make your Windows show all hidden files and folders and then simply copy everything to your new card.

How to transfer to new memory card?

Got a new memory card, but unsure how to transfer all data to new card? Is it as easy as putting old memory card in pc and copying files to pc, then copying them over to new card, or is there a better option?
Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk
yep. unless you have a dual memory card reader for your pc.
old card in phone-> copy to pc
new card in phone -> copy from pc.
its what i did when i formatted my card to a new cluster size and put everything back on with no issues.
