How can I adjust the storage memory and program storage memory under memory allocation ICON? Can we adjust? I have the capacity problem on the storage memory. During activesync everytime, my iSilo document cannot be synchonize as my storage memory was not enough for 11MB.
Can iSilo support the file synchronized on the storage card folder?
Regards,
Victor
I don't think there is "storage" on the WM5 devices. Not sure, don't use mine much, but because of the unified memory structure it's not necessary AFAIK.
However, for isilox, just change the "target" of the file, remove your PDA from the target and instead export to a file, eg on your desktop. Make the ebook, and then just use activesync to explore and copy the converted pdb anywhere on your phone. I use \my documents\!ebooks

Thanks for your advice. Eventually, I have located the method to export the file to Storage Card.
Yes, WM5 system did not have much storage space for storing data.

Hi ... If we Sync. files with my computer, the files are stored in the Imate Jam's main memory but I want the files to move to the storage card. How can we do this? Thanks for your replies in advance
As far as I am aware, Activesync only syncs the contents which are contained within the internal memory of the pda/phone - it doesn't touch anything in your storage card memory.
The only way around this is to move the files manually onto the storage card...
Thanks for your help. Much Appreciated.
Hi There, Found a New software called MOBSYNC which actually allows you to SYNC all the folders to any location in to your PPC. It allows you to SYNC any folders from your PC (not specifically My documents). Thanks
Is there some way to do this via WM5? Or is there a utility that you need to do it? Is there a freeware app out there that can do this?
My storage card freaked out a little and now isn't showing files that are on there, although it is reporting that the disk space is being used.
I don't have a link on me at the moment, but look around the forum for a program called Storage Tools. It should let you format the card as you wish.
I use my laptop to format the storage card.
spb pocket plus has a format function for the file explorer to allow formatting within the device, otherwise, i have a card reader and use the laptop to format, or my other laptop has a built in memory card reader that can format it.
i think also resco explorer can format the card also, i can check if you havent resolved this yet.
If you have some time read this article.

That utility did the trick. Thank you.
Experiment a little with your format parameters.
I found that FAT32, 4kb cluster and no Backup fat is the best settings for my specific needs and Sandisk highspeed card.
Lower clustersizes reduce slack (lost space) but increases memory needs and write time. No golden rule here.
Also take a look at this info from msdn: FAT File System Registry Settings
I use a 0x10026 for the flags in the FATFS key.

I am trying to install pocket radiologist on my trinity. This program is quite a memory hungry program so am trying to install it onto my 2GB storage card which also has a heap of music on it (but still 500MB free).
When i go to install it it gives me the option to save it onto the storage card but when i select it it installs it into the storage memory on the trinity and not the storage card!
I cant remember if i used some kind of tweak to do this but would love to save the program to my storage card so i can also do it for GPS when i get it......
What am i doing wrong? Is there a setting somewhere which will enable this? i cant seem to find it anywhere.
thanks
Scott
anyone? help please?
someone must have some idea.....
The problem is the installer, it must be hard-coded to use the internal memory instead of the external card, it shouldn't offer the option to install on the card.
You can edit the cab file to remove the hard-coded paths using a trial of WinCE Cab Manager, but if they are hard-coded.. there could be a reason for that, anyways, you can try to do that.
have you tried installing the application on the miniSD card from a card reader, rather than Trinity?
Often if a program installs itself to the internal memory, you can safely find the directory on your phone and move it to the miniSD and just make a new shortcut to your start menu. An example is TomTom, you can copy the directory "Navigator" from the phone Program Files directory to the /Program Files directory on the miniSD and TomTom works perfectly...at least on my device.
My Hermes is producing fake files on the storage card and in the HERMES built-in storage.
The files (attribute: system) shows big sizes but in reality they are empty fakes.
I'm not able to delete this dump with Total Commander.
What can i do?
On the storage card i can format the card and recopy the useful files. But on the HERMES built-in storage i'm not interested in a hard reset.
need help please...

What's better: install system software on internal memory or ipaq file store?

depend on file size of the system software you would installing
coz storage on internal memory and ipaq file storage very limited
i prefered installed on my storage card
i believe storage card is a bit slower than the internal memory/ipaq file store, so i generally put them to internal for essential apps, ipaq file store for non essential but handy and storage card only for things that i dont use much or are rather large.
The ipaq file store is too small for proper storage so i might as welll use it for program installs.
I swap my memory card resonablly often though.
If I delete IPAQ File Store it's memory goes to internal memory?
I don't think so, it only stop loading the partition at boot.

Nope, it doesn't. Just like keyx says.
