I have an O2 XDAII that just went dead, can't power on..all I can see is the red shadow rom version and nothing else..please tell me what i need to do..reflash it, maybe? how do i reflash it since the phone cannot power on?.....please give me links to software or rom if you know how to repair this problem..thanks
Have you tried hardresetting( power and softreset button simultaneously) your xda?

although you can restore the old rom or re program the new one again
you have to get the boot loader screen by pressing the power button and the reset and the round button in the middle to down in the same time
you will get "Serial " or if on the cradle "USB"

mine was 1.66, upgraded to O2 UK official 1.72 rom. did not see any problem.
stupidly i updated molski rom for wizard for my friend s mda compact ii , lucky the rom works but the problem is the battery doesnt charge at all, always stay at 0%, please some one help me....

the phone should still charge while off, so let it do that first for a while to get a good charge up. hold down camera button and plug in the sync cable, keep holding the button til the bootloader comes up. you should beable to install a rom now, make sure its designed for the charmer. http://www.tm-phonedownloads.com/download_manager_mda_com2.html

I have been using a WWE WM6 ROM for a few weeks now, after having got out of trouble using the German O2 Orbit ROM. Since then been running WWE WM6 ROM and loaded a few extra HTC Apps - all fine!
Yesterday, tried installing a different ROM, now the device will not power on. USB or mains - nothing. No lights, no life :-(
Have I "bricked" the device, or does someone know how to resolve this?

It may still OK. It just cannot wake the OS up. Try to enter bootloader by pressing power + voice recorder + soft reset simultaneously, then flash with original ROM
Tried this - used this before...
The device just seems like it has no power...
No power, no way to reset - I have tried the "Voice" + "Power" + "Reset" combinations. I am familiar with getting into the Bootloader screen...
Unless anyone has a better idea, I'll have to go to the manufacturer and get it repaired I guess...

I have O2 XDA IIi Alpine. I tried to upgrade to WM6 (and now DEAD already) after upgrade, It shown "Serial...USB V1.1" and blur slow down. After that, I do cool boot, but no effected, I plug it back to PC and not have any effect (before, when u plug into PC, it will recognize when you press power button). Now I can not do anything (it can not power on).
I would like back to the original ROM of O2 XDA IIi. So, do you have any tool and original ROM to fix in this case?
Please help me...I swear I nerver upgrade the ROM of O2 XDA IIi Alpine again...

Maybe your rom is down, take a rom from here and instal it on your device
