is it possible to receive files via bluetooth with enabling "receive incoming beams" ??
Sunny
I'm sure there will be a third party app that does this, but afaik not as standard.
I think this is whats known as a 'feature'!

Have you made sure you've checked "Recieve all incoming beams" under "Beam" in the connections panel of the settings?
i am just curious if there is a way to hear text message alerts through my bluetooth eaarpiece when i am using it
Doesn't voice command do this?

i dont know does it i turned off the announce incomming calls
I don't think incoming text messages would be considered incoming calls.
Perhaps there's a 3rd party Bluetooth extension that can do this (like Jetware or BlueCast). I haven't used either one, but perhaps they'll point you where you want to go...

Download 'Enable BT OBEX ', transfer it to your pda, install it, soft reset and -voila!
D.
Navigate to Start / Settings / Connections (tab) / Beam and ensure that the check box "receive all incoming beams" is checked.
I know this is something very basic but just thought you are missing on it.

i cant seem to send any files from another fone to my X1 is there any reason for this?
You need to enable "Receive all incoming beams" in the Beam settings.

Wasn't working here too and that setting was enabled.
Started again to work after I changed in the registry:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Obex\IsEnabled from 0 to 1
mine is set to 1 and cannot receive files other than jpegs
Is there a way to completely disable incoming callerID on the DroidX either via an Ap or by tweaking a rom? I'm working with a law enforcement program that requires all incoming calls to be completely anonymous. We have talked to our telco extensively and they are unable to turn off the incoming caller ID signal so I need to be able to remove the function from the phone.
I've seen the ability to block yourself from showing up when you make outgoing calls, but never the ability to hide incoming calls.
You might have to get this specially tweaked for you by a dev.
