I have just upgraded my O2 XDA rom to the 4.01.12 image available on this site, and everything seems great.
I would like to add a few more random things to the rom using the kitchen and would just like to find out, that when you first go into Win2003 Final are all the default options selected that are currently in the rom I have updated to?
If not, how can I see what I have in the current rom, compared to what I am building?
Regards,
hshah

Discovered this Forum while looking for others who were having problems with reliability of the recent O2 ROM upgrade. I've had to hard reset three times!).
Read with huge interest about the ROM Kitchen - and throwing caution to the wind, cooked a ROM in Jeff's Kitchen (a million thanks to him for opening the kitchen).
I have the following questions (which I pray are not stupid)
I find the resulting ROM seems to be stable (so far) but am not clear about:
1. There is a reference on the site to a new ROM version 1.2. I could not find a reference to this in Jeff's Kitchen. The version I 'cooked' was called Version 3.17.03 English (XDA Dev Auto Config).
2. There is an option to select the GSM frequency. Has this turned by XDA into a Tri-Band?
Also, V1.2 is supposed to remove the tedious cut & paste tutorial. My cooked ROM still asked for this. Did I cook the wrong ROM or is 1.2 not yet available in Jeff's Kitchen.
I am one of the non-techies and I hope these questions are not infuriating the techies.
ROM version 1.2 was produced by XDA Developers and is still available from this site. i think i am right in saying that you could install 1.2 over 3.17.03, more information is certainly available on this forum.
The GSM frequency swith is for US/Europe, i believe
version 1.2 does get rid of the tutorial
Hi. Since I don't have access to a Unix machine I use Jeff's Kitchen and that is where I am not sure if the new v1.2 ROM is available. Seems not to be.
Where can i download the 4.00.11 rom version since Jeff kitchen is down?
it's also not available on yorch kitchen!
cheers,
Yann
yah, jeff's kitchen is down and i think it is the only one with the 4.00.11 update. yorch's has 4.00.05 only
can anyone post a link to download this rom version?
best regars,
Yann
Check some of the old posts by doing a search. One of the FTP's might still be open.
hi guys
i found a rom.exe file that i had cooked in jeffz kitchen a long time ago; it also contains some extra apps from the kitchen.
just give me an ftp location to upload to and it's yours. unfortunately, my ftp server is not for public use.
cheers

Hi all,
I need a clean ROM 4.00.11 ENG (without any apps) ... My problem is with Imov (doesn't work) and EZWAP (it doesn't have 2.5 with MMS option).
If any one have this "Vanilla" version plz send me a PM
Thanks in advance
You can still get a Cooked .11 ROM. Since those programs are in ROM and not RAM, they don't take up any space. Install the new versions of the progs you want and you will be fine.

Right!! ... but some of these files installed in the windows directory are actually ROM files now, they can't be over written by the new versions.
Also, I like that each program is installed in its default directory instead of customized installations.
No that is not correct. You CAN install newer programs of programs in ROM. How do you think Microsoft can update MSN Messenger, etc.? Try it, THEN come back and thank us b/c it will work.
Hi to all,
I just opened an FTP account to download/upload the roms.
ftp:\\server268.com
username:xda
password:myxda
you'll find on it the uncooked 4.00.11 rom verision as well as the 4.21X radio stack (a bit better than the 4.21)
Fell free to upload any other rom's.
ridaz could you upload on the FTP or send me by email your cooked 4.00.11 rom!!
regards,
Yann
I'll post my stable, email add attachment functioning no sd card erasing (knock on wood three times), phone ext working, copy of the .11 rom as soon as I find it. It has been installed for so long...
Hi! im new to this and I havn't tried to upgrade any ROM for my atom except for the ROM in the o2 website which is the 20060426B1WWE. I have read in the forums that there are a lot of ROM's available for upgrade and as far as I got it right, the AKU 3.3.3 is the final ROM and is stable for the WM5 platform? (kindly correct me if im wrong.) I want to know what is the difference between the AKU 3.3.3 and 20060426B1WWE ROM. Hows is the upgrade process? is it the same? I just download the ROM, run the .EXE file and wait till the upgrade is finished? Would love to know your inputs. tnx!
ROM for Atom is like OS for PCs. ROM comes in different features, different patches and different applications. The latest ROM from O2 is like a standard upgrade only. And it has been a long time since O2 released an upgrade to their ROM. Here in the forums, there is a lot of versions of ROM that you can use. But it is advisable to back up all your files first, including contacts, messages, notes, tasks, calendar notes / reminders and the likes 'coz once you upgrade your ROM all informations will be wiped out. The latest ROM that is available here is Sir Jiggs' WM6 AKU0.7.0 WWE. I myself use that ROM also and I'm very satisfied with it. (Thanks Sir Jiggs for the wonderful ROM! ). Though its an evaluation version, it works perfect on my Atom. If in any case, you didn't like the ROM after you upgraded it, you don't need to worry also because you can still go back to your previous ROM. Try reading other threads also to get an idea regarding the different ROMs. Gud luck!
Hello, I have an O2 XDA Trion which has WM5 installed on. I want to know how it's possible (or which is the best software/rom) to update its operating system to 6.0 or 6.1. I searched on the forum a little but did not find too much information since I'm a newbie on upgrading roms etc.
I also wonder if my XDA Trion could have possibilty to work like HTC Touchflo. The interface of Touchflo is great. Could you please give me some links where I can download the necessary files for these and the informations that I'll be needing while I update the system.
Thanks.
Welcome to XDA developers , Once you get the bug of flashing , its like drugs, you want to do it every day
All upgrading how to's can be found here
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes
the touchflo cube can be downloaded as a cab file from here. Basically you dont need to upgrade to wm6/6.1 to use the touchflo cube.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=328010
if you want to upgrade to wm6.1 then you will need to cid unlock your phone to allow you to flash a rom than wasn't originally from O2, for that you will need this
http://pof.eslack.org/hermes-unlocker/
info about the unlocker can be found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293665
As for whats the best rom thats anybodys guess,o2 have officially released wm6 for the trion , have a look in the wiki there are roms listed there
here is a link to the official o2 wm6 rom
this was uploaded by me http://rapidshare.com/files/82987999/RUU_Hermes_O2_UK_3.62.206.2_6275_1.50.00.00_108_Ship.exe
i am currently trying PDACorner Pro v17 which has no touchflo cube program but that can be found here on the forums , if you specifically want the cube included, then just look for a rom with it included or do as i have already said and just install the cube as a cab seperatly
Hope that helps
Thanks for the reply. That helped a lot to have a start. I'll do flashing at the weekend.
Hi all, I am new to rom cooking and this is the first rom I have ever made.
Thanks Bobsbbq for the tips.
What I have done: changed the htc english IME to htc CHT IME, taken from stock HKCSL rom. Other things stay the same.
Here is the link: Click here
To install, follow the instructions here
Known Issues:
1. For some reasons the items in the start menu do not go into the right folder like in the tmous stock rom
2. After like an hour of playing it seems like with the CHT support the phone runs less smooth
It's a bit little too late as I already have LostInAsia ROM installed. It works OK so far, but I lost ALL branding.
Yes I was thinking if I am a little late as well
But then what I really wanted is the stock Tmous rom and the CHT support and that's all. I actually tried the LIA rom it's good but don't really like the fancy graphics.
Anyway what do you mean by losing all branding? In LIA rom or my rom? This is my first time cooking so I really want some feed back to help improve my cooking skills.

He means he lost all of the TMOUS branding. Which to each his own but for me that would be a good thing

Hi, I like your rom, but do you put other Chinese input come from Taiwan HTC rom for HD2 that would be great. I don't like too fancy so the default one is which I like used. I can found only one Chinese input from you rom, otherwise it is great for me.
@makino, This is quite a nice rom, good job cooking it from the HK version. However i was wondering if there is any way to cook the rom to full CHT instead of WWE?

Thanks for posting the ROM. But the thing is that I can't download from depositefiles ... I think it's the country block or something. Is there a mirror download site? Thanks again.
I think I need to learn how to cook ROM to add CHT support on my own; in addition, I also have to know how to flash offical ROM without flashing radio, so is it possible to flash offical ROM from Hong Kong version without radio?

Hi, thanks for the amazing work. What I want to know is. Is it possible for you to make a separate .cab file for the CHT menus? I have Josh's T-Mobile test rom flashed on my HD2 and want to keep using it, so a stand alone CHT menu pack would be ideal.
Thanks!

check out the stickies at the top of the dev forum... you will need to flash a stock ROM from SD card. this will overwrite ROM and HSPL.
Just read before you do anything so you know what is happening and how to do it.
