Help with WMP 10 and Skins
I've downloaded a skin posted on the forum, G.AMP and put it in this folder:
\Program Files\Windows Media Player\G.amp~WMP
When you go into Windows Media Player 10 it does not find the skin.
I have WM 2005 and WMP 10 and an XDA Exec 3G.
Any help much appreciated, Declan.
I'm sure I just put mine in My Documents and it found it.

I have tryed for ages to change the skin in media player but there is no way ive found.
i did notice that there is a *192.bmp file in the windows directory (windows\) that if you open looks just like the default skin. if i rename the default(portrait).skn file in the \Program files\media player\ folder then media player wont start in portrait mode so its definutly pulling the skin from there but all the different ways i put the skin files i have it just wont work, not even if i rename then the default(portrait) will it work.
Has anyone got this to work?
im just trying to keep this post alive!, i still cant manage to get this to work.
Also i found a way to display album art, just copy the picture of the album into the folder of the album and change the name to "Folder.jpg", now whenever a song is played from the folder WMP will show the picture

Can the Universal Play mp3 or wma files as ringtones thru the standard contacts application? I see where to assign ringtone but my wma tones are not shown. I placed them in a folder in the mydocuments folder in the internal memory. Do they need to go into a different folder? Or do I have to use a third party application?
Also, in WM5 I dont see a Windows folder when I select Explore thru active synch. In WM2003 inside of the Windows folder I had a Favorites folder. I am looking for this folder to copy and paste a few links I saved on my PC from my Jam.
Thank you for your help!

RESOLVED
Sorry, I figured it out. Ill leave the post just in case someone else runs into this problem. I had my file settings to not show hidden files. Changing that to show all files I now have the Windows folder. The ringtones go into the windows\rings folder and under windows there is the folder for favorites.

If you have MP3 or WMV files go to the option of the file u we be able to set that file as ring tone... Windows automatically copy that file in to Ring folder and shows u in ring tone list for u from Phone.
Hi fellas,
any hint how to make such change
I was stfg for a while and found someone on XDA asking the same question, but got no reply at all
I have seen Dutty made something with it in his SupaLite rom but more details would be great
Thanks,
Gabriel
Yes, it's possible.
I replaced my (Videos) with (TCPMP) by modifying the registry:
HKLM\HTC\Biotouch\MediaHubMini\App1_3
Change Path from
\Windows\HTCAlbum.exe
to
\Program Files\TCPMP\player.exe
Change Param from
-mode:camera -type:video
to
(null)
Soft-reset.
Same thing can be done for Music, Photos icons, or other applications (ie. IE, CommManager,...) with HKLM\HTC\Biotouch\APLauncher and appropriate APPx registry.
This doesn't make sense since the change you're suggesting refers to the program htcalbum.exe instead of windows media player...wouldn't this just route all calls to htc album to tcpmp instead of rerouting everything that would normally go to WMP to TCPMP? Or am I a douche?
My solution is referring to the TouchFlo (sorry if it was confusing/misleading)

quick and dirty
hi,
here is a quick and dirty solution i made some minutes ago for my self.
copy all files from the tcpmp dir to the windows folder.
rename player.exe to wnplayer.exe
install mycert_cert.cab file and replace the htcalbum.exe with the one in the rar file.
now the htcalbum should open videos with the tcpmp.
regards stavro
???
What RAR file?
^^ sorry my mistake, here is the rar file
Hi first of all I wanna say that this site is very nice!
There are lots of nice themes here, but I would like to know how to edit the TF3D theme myself.
What software do you need for that? Thanks.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=464984
and a PNG editor, (paint works but you won't get transparencies), if you have photoshop all power to you, a good free one is Gimp.
use mode 9 to convert QTC1 files into .PNG. then use an image editor to change the .PNG to look like whatever you want.
Use mode 9 to convert back to a QTC1 file and then drag it to your Windows folder (on your device). Cycle TF3D off and then on again (Settings > Today > items > TF3D)
And you should see your theme there
Good luck on it mate

I don't know how to get into the windows directory on the phone with m9editor.
When i use activesync, i can't get into the directory; when I click on 'my device' on 'this computer', i can't explore the phone, I just see nothing there. And when I use Diskdrive, I can only look into the internal storage.
So I just tried to copy it to my computer, I thought I would be able to copy them back into the windows directory of my phone. But the quality of the copied files is worse I think, when I open them wit photoshop I get a very pixelated image How do I load that files using m9editor?
can any one plz tell me hoe to change the windows media player skin in my htc p3400i .?
i have searched for it in forums, but cudnt find it....
You have to search for a cab that changes the skin. Search for media+player+skin+cab here on the forum and you'll find.

If the download is a .zip/.rar file simply extract its contents into \program files\Window Media Player folder.
If the download is a .cab file then just copy it to your mobile, and then click on it from the mobile.
Then open media player Menu > options > skins - now wait for media player to find all the skins in, now click on the next/previous buttons to browse through the available skins. Then press ok.
run wmp go to menu>options u'll see tabs of different options one of them is about skins!!
I added music to my storage card, however i can't see them in the music tab. I added them to the WM library with the hope that they are linked, but nothing happened.
any tips ?
Mmmm...
When you say you can't see them, do you mean none of the tracks are there or just the images are missing? If it's just the images, you need to open your music folder on your storage card (with a file explorer that can see hidden files) and make a copy of one of the image files there and rename it 'folder'. Windows Media player names it's music images 'Album_Art.....jpg' - TF3D album needs 'folder.jpg' - If there are no image files, you'll need to manually copy them from your PC and rename as mentioned.
If the music is on your device, but not showing in TF3D album, try soft resetting and see if that refreshes the list.
i don't see the list of music. i tried soft resetting
Try the following:
1. disable touchflo in your start\settings\today\items screen
2. soft reset
3. use total commander to delete Application Data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\Audiomanager_Eng.vol
4. restart touchflo
It should then work. However, this process will also delete any playlists you have.
thanks mitsi. it worked :-D
