Lock Device??? Need your exe in our Qtek 9000 - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hello all. I am an owner of a 9000 and would love to have the ability to lock my device just as all the Wizards do with the little lock Icon in their displays.
I was wondering, could anyone of you guys find this Device Lock.exe inside the Windows Folder, extract it and give it to us? I'm not sure if it would work but I would love to find out
Thank you

Sorry Mythozz, I have been searching my device for the .exe that is responsible for that plug-in, but I have been unable to find it. I wanted to bind it to a hard button, so i don't have to keep the plug-in on the today screen, but there is no file to be found that has anything to do with this plug-in. So I cannot get and upload it for you.

I found a file in my Windows folder that seems to be responsible for this.
It's called KeylockTray.exe.
I found it with Resco Explorer (settings set to display ALL files).
I'll also add the Dutch .htm file that goes with the .exe

That is NOT the right app! It only enables an icon in the tray, that shows wheter or not the keys will be locked once you push the power button to turn the device into sleep mode. Tapping on the icon changes the state from locking buttons and screen to unlocking them and vice versa. For instance: If the icon has a red circle through it, your keys will be locked on power off. tapping it removes the circle and keys and screen are unlocked. if you put the device in sleep mode, any button or screen press will turn it on again. That has the same function as somewhere in the start-settings menu. It does NOT enable the today plug-in to lock screen and buttons while playing mp3 etc. I use MortSaver (www.sto-helit.de) to lock screen and buttons while playing mp3. If you start WMP and use the keylocktray.exe, then push the power button, the device goes into sleep mode and mp3 playback is suspended.

I think it know the plugin you mean and I have it on my wizard (o2 rom) but I can't find a lockdevice or devicelock .exe under \windows?
Any ideas? I'd love to use the same plugin on my jasjar

/me too

Your're right my friend... It is really a shame we can't use this feature. I use my 9000 with the screen on the outside as a PDA and I could surely use it...
I will keep on checking this thread in case a miracle happens and someone finds something...

'Cause it's not an .exe, it's shutil.dll you want.

Aha, so that is the right file. But how to make a shortcut to it to bind it to a hardware button? not se easy I think? Or does anyone have any idea on how to implement it?

Guys I got a fix go here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3910011&postcount=5

Media Player continuing to stream when device is 'off'

Hi all,
I use the BT A2DP profile to stream music through the media player and one of the 'features' that differs from the K-JAM (wizard) and is lacking in the TyTN is the ability to continue that stream even when the device is 'off' (useful for saving battery, switching off the buttons, etc.). With the TyTN whenever the device is turned off the stream also ceases. Does anybody know if there is someway of ensuring that the media player is not switched off along with the device (I'm guessing a registry setting or similar).
All help very welcome.
Cheers
I was wondering this also. My wizard was able to be "off" and still stream. ANyone got any brigjt ideas?
Later, Lew
Have you tried just turning the screen off? PocketPlus has a utility called "Screen Toggle," which does just that.
When used in conjunction with the Button Lock (leaving only the power button active), you just might be able to solve your issue...

Yeah...what he said!
That what I do.
I really miss this feature to.
So there is no way to do it on the Hermes?
Its not particulary elegent to have to perform multiple steps to turn the screen off. it was much eaiser just to hit the off button and listen away...
I'm using VjDeviceLock wich is what you want, I think.
After you've installed it you should create a new shortcut in c:/windows/startmenu/programs/vijay555/vjdevicelock. You can copy an exiting one in this directory and edit the parameter. What you want is "-displayoff". I bound this to my Videocall-Button, cause I don't use video telephony.
If I listen to music I just have to press my Videocall-Button and VjDeviceLock turns off my screen and locks all Buttons except the power on/off one.
Also VjDeviceLock is just great to save money
If you get a sms or a call the device turns on itself. I once didn't notice this and called a random person out of my adressbook, because I had my trion in my pocket and were moving all the evening and somehow started a call.
This cannot happen again, because I started vjdevicelock with parameter "-install". Now everytime my trion turns on itself it gets automatically (re)locked.
thats a fantastic solution and it works really well!
what program are you using to remap the buttons?
Hi,
Does anyone else suffers strange key problems when using VJdevicelock;
After using -displayoff or -displaytoggle and resume back to normal, phone buttons (call/disconnect,videotalk) doesnt work anymore, it need to be softreseted before the buttos work again?
-Kha
EDIT:
just found out that when resuming from -displayoff, after pressing windows and ok softkeys, dialbuttos work again!
I'd appreciate if somebody here could advice me on how to map VjDeviceLock to VideoCall button on my TyTN (I have original TyTN ROM and the VideoCall key is functional ). I couldn't remap it using Buttons configuration utility in Settings.
as I said you have to create a Shortcut in your Startmenu. Shortcuts in Startmenu are shown as available possibilities in Start - Settings - Buttons (Perhaps it's called a bit different. I'm using a german version where it's called 'Tasten')
This is how I remapped it. I don't use a special program.
I use the device lock on today plugins.

This does not turn off your screen AND your device is sometimes getting unlocked when you receive calls or sms.

Thank you very much for your instant response. I did all you mentioned in your message and I remapped the VideoCall button (is it the Button between Buttons 4 and 5 ? ) but pressing it still doesn't activate VJDevice. Any other suggestions?
Is the device locked when you click on the shortcut?
If not: edit an existing shortcut, let's say "VJDeviceLock About.lnk". Make it point to: \Programms\vjay555\VJDeviceLock\VJDeviceLock.exe" -displayoff
It is right that there is only one "
When I open my shortcut in a text editor the content is:
Code:
64#"\Programme\vijay555\VJDeviceLock\VJDeviceLock.exe" -displayoff"
Yes. The device locks when I click on the shortcut itself but when I press VideoCall button, to which I had previously mapped the link, the Dialpad pops up.

How can you do this? Are you using a third party app? I see no way to bind anything other than 5 buttons on my device...
I bound it to "Button 5".

Display Lock without Button Lock for WMP?

Ow hell, I'm tired of looking for this on the forum, so I'll just ask it:
Is there a device lock application that can be assigned to a hotkey that turns off and locks the display BUT NOT THE BUTTONS.
I tried pLock and vjLock but it doesn't work.
The reason for this odd request is that I'd like to maintain WMP button control while playing music, while locking the display.
Hope I just overlooked it in my search.
Cheers,
Keeth
edit:
I think I just found it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=305402
edit:
Nope problem still stands. DeviceLock with "blank screen" doesn't work on my wizard. it just turns the display off for a sec and then on again.
I'm looking for something similar to the "display off" function in BatteryStatus but something that can be assigned to a key.
How about 'Slide2Unlock'?
I guess the question would be, why do you want a lock app that does not lock the buttons? Isnt that just turning the screen off?
The buttons on my wizard are not that easily pressed when in my pocket. So the problem is the touchscreen.
When i'm listening to music, i'd like just to put my hand in my pocket to skip to the next song using the directional pad.
There must be something out there that, as you said, just turns off the display (as BatteryStatus offers) but without making another application active or going to the Today screen (since then i would lose button control over the player).
Thanks Sian for the tip, I'll try slide2unlock
edit:
No, Slide2Unlock invokes the slider (evidently) when the display is turned off, therefore no media player button control

I dit. I cooked my own ROM but in previous ROM this feature was working somehow (pressing power button did not stop music playing) but in my ROM it does.
you can also just click the windows key, click on the "today" icon, go to the today screen and then just lock the window. let the screen turn off by itself.
thats what i do. i've never been able to hit the power key.
i use pocket player. you can assign a button to turn the screen off. unfortunately the program isnt free.. unless you know where to look.
get TCPMP,the core media player and assign a hot key to turn off the screen.its in the options.
If you use pbar (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284952&highlight=pbar), you can use the blue icon at the bottom of app to turn the screen off and save the battery sucked up by display.
I use this when listening to WMP or TCPMP and works fine.
For some reason, the link did not paste correctly for pbar. Here goes.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284952&highlight=pbar
Until you figure it out. You can always set a hotkey from Media Player (menu/options/buttons). Then assign a key to Toggle Screen (I use Hold Up). Click on 'Toggle Screen', press Assign button, press key you want to assign to that function. If you hold the up button from the direction pad for a second it should take.
This is what I do (I'm using NBD v9.2 BTW): Play a song, wait until it finished the first song, click power button. Works everytime. If you press it too early you're gonna cut your music off along with your screen. The key word is wait.
Display Switch
Or you could use the program called display switch. it turns off the screen only and you can assign this to a button on your wizard. that's what I do

[REQ]Auto device lock/unlock based on power button

Hey!
Is somewhere out there an application or some sort of WM modification that would make the default WM device lock power-button-sensitive? The current one (if you enable it in Advanced Config) turn itself automatically on when you put the device into standby (by power button, for example) but when you press the button again, you have to unlock the device. That wouldn't be a problem if the TouchFLO 3D clock updated, but when the device is locked, the TouchFLO 3D clock doesn't update itself.
So I would like to have a keylock that would automatically lock the device if the power button is pressed (or the device is in standby) and automatically unlock when the power button is pressed again (or there's incomming call). But the important thing is that it would keep the device locked when some appointment showed up or something like that.
I've been searching the net and all possible forums and sites but ran out empty - no such application od modification found. Can anyone help? Maybe the csdevctrl (v.4.01) may help but I don't know how to set it properly.

StylusLock is locking the device and keeps running programs updating the screen (so is not interfering with them). But probably this is not what you requested, because it is not controlled via the power button, but the stylus.
Thanks for reply, but that's not what I'm looking for.

How do you do this in Advanced Config? I can't see it anywhere!!!
mayb he meant diamond tweak. there is a option called autolock. when ur backlight goes off or u turn off the screen it will lock the device.
Advanced Config 3.3: Screen -> Auto device lock & timeout.
I dont have that option on my HD with advance config
my solution
I had same problem and auto device lock did not solve it. because I don't want the device is auto locked when the screen is on. It should only be locked when the screen is off and device is waken up by power button or any call/sms/alarm event.
- Battery Status plugin was able to do this great but it does not work stable with TouchFlo 3D.
- To lock the device automatically on wakeup ThrottleLock is a great application but while it locks the screen clock and today screen is not updated.
- I also tried VJDeviceLock but it did not work automatically on wakeup. But when you execute VJDeviceLock.exe it locks the screen manually using the device lock of Windows Mobile.
To solve these first I installed VJDeviceLock and then ThrottleLock. Then I copied VJDeviceLock.exe into ThrottleLock folder in the name of ThrottleLock.exe. Now every time I wake up the device screen is locked by Windows Mobile's devicelock instead of ThrottleLock's pattern based custom lock screen.

Shortcut for Sleep

I am looking for a shortcut for "Sleep" (not only lock the screen) instead of pressing on/off button.
I have tried several program such as xdaShutdown, restart....
These programs are good but they consist of Sleep/Restart/Shutdown...
What i want is a direct shortcut for Sleep...
Can anyone help me?
sorry for my bad english...
It would be nice to link that shortcut for power button if someone finds solution for that...
I'm looking for the same short cut, so lazy to press the button
There's a small freeware called ScreenOff for windows mobile. It can be installed and will then be available as a shortcut. It will turn your screen off (which is what I assume "sleep" is, right?)
What about using proximity sensor that sleep the device when you put your phone on your pocket? Would it be nice?
