Disable message sent notification? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Does anyone know how to disable the "Message Sent" notification that appears everytime you send a text message ( SMS )? It gets a little annoying having to "dismiss" it after every message. I couldn't find any setting for it in the notifications settings.

yeah im also intressted how to disable that. maybe only a reg tweak?

I think this is what you are looking for in the registry:
Disable SMS Sent Notification
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSNoSentMsg"= dword:00000001 ->0 if Enable
Cheers

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSNoSentMsg"= dword:00000001 ->0 if Enable
Click to collapse
can't find that string on my wm5 swedish version?

it goes away on its own after like 2 secs

If you don´t want to mess up with the registry there is an app called "Advanced config", after installing it you´ll be able to remove that annoyng notification and many other interesting tweaks

thanks! the adv. config didn't work on my 8125 with a cooked wm6. but doing the reg hack was simple and effective. open Programs in the Start menu, go into Accessories, open Registry Editor.
1. Click "+" sign next to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" (3rd Down)
2. Scroll down and click "+" next to "Software"
3. Scroll down and click "+" next to "Microsoft"
4. Scroll down to the "Inbox" folder, click and hold to pop up the menu
5. Click "New" then "Key" and name it "Settings"
6. Click and hold on the "Settings" folder to pop up the menu
7. Click "New" then "Value" and name it "SMSNoSentMsg"
8. Set the Value Type to "REG_DWORD"
9. Click "Set Data" button , leave on Hexadecimal
10. Enter 00000001 as the value, thats 7 zeros(0) and a 1
As long as you dont delete anything in your registry, drag and move items already there, or create random values/keys, you will be fine. Follow this exactly and it will work for you as it just did for me.

Here's How To Disable The SMS Notification Bubble.

In Regedit, create a new key' Settings' so that it looks like this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]:
Create a new string value under 'Settings':
"SMSNoSentMsg"
Value: 1
tried that still got the bubble.. does that work for the xdaII?
Do you guys means this:
Go to Start/Setting/Sound and Notifications/Notifications
Select SMS:New SMS Message (point 1)
Uncheck Display Message on Screen
Why on earth do you want to disable the notification bubble? I reckon it a highly appreciated icon

That's for incoming SMS. The one I posted deals with the SMS notification bubble that appears after a message has been sent.

Yes, it's specifically for the XDAII cos there's no notification bubble for the XDAI. You probably entered it wrongly.

i appreciate the notification too. But preferences are individual, I know there would be some out there who'd prefer not to see the bubble after sending an SMS.
it is importent issue, yes I do not want my I-Mate to power on when I receive a SMS. How can I do that. why because I got a lot and want to save power and the most importent is when the I-Mate in pocket and off than it is powered on by SMS some time I-Mate calls others while it is in my pocket.

I remember that someone once posted a message in this forum asking how to disable the SMS Sent notification. His problem was that he was sending an SMS message to a very large number of recipients and the continuous stream of SMS Sent notifications was very annoying. I also experienced the same problem when I changed my phone number and notified via SMS everyone in my contacts list. The barrage of beeps and SMS Sent notifications that followed was really annoying. It would have been good to disable the notification at least temporarily.
NOTE TO EVERYONE: We're talking about the SMS Sent notification, not the SMS Received notification.
Why I can't see any Settings in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]?
Try to create that "Settings" key ... then create the SMSNoSentMsg string...
I just tried this and it DOES work...
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
The only thing to maybe note is SMSNoSentMsg is a numeric value, not a string value like the above says.
SMS sent bubble settings...EUREKA
I have posted this sometimes back and here it is again...
[HKCU\ControlPanel\Notification\Default\]
Creat a new key string and name it for instance "System Notification"
goto your Sound & Notification settings and you shall find the same there with the default check boxes.
Uncheck the display message on screen...
Bingo.. there you go and you wont get the bubble anymore..
Feedback's appreciated...

Well, in that case there' a way to control this "inconvenience" by a registry trick..
\HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\
Give a value of "35" to the DWORD string "WakeupPowerOff".
This controls the # of seconds following a non-user input event wakeup such as an alarm, the # of seconds without user input activity before the system suspends. But mind you to keep it close to 30 secs because of Alarm settings otherwise you screw up the alarm power on and off which is not appropriate 8)

After when you have edited the registry. You can modify the display, sound and duration of red LED from the Sound & Notifications thru the Control Panel..
Any luck... :?:
I think it works! Although its stupid to post yourself, i tried - and there you go! If you get an sms, the notification Is still there, but the bubble only pops up, if you tick the notification icon. That's just what i wanted.

on my imate JAM you can have (talking about SMS IN) this even without the registry edit. it is in settings sounds & notifications just untick display on screen message and you will only get the envelope when an sms comes in.... tapping the envelope will show you the message. As for the SMS SENT reg edit I will be trying it now... I'll report how it works out too.
Ok I tried this out (SMSNoSentMsg) and it works for me

I found this on another site, here's how you can change it via registry edit:
Getting rid of the Message Sent notification for text messaging
1. First, you will need to download a Registry Editor to help you do it...
a good one will be the freeware PHM Registry Editor
or for those who got the Resco Explorer, you can use the Registry Editor that comes with it...
2. using the Registry Editor, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox
3. Next, click on Inbox (make sure the Inbox is highlighted) and select Edit, New Key
4. Name the New Key as "Settings"
5. Click on "Settings" (make sure the Settings is highlighted) and select Edit, New String Value
6. On "Value name:", key in SMSNoSentMsg and in "Value data", key in 1
7. Soft reset your device and test it with one SMS

Hi!
Thanks a lot for this!
After trying this it still doesnt work..
I followed it very carefully, but I still get the notification...
Would could I have done wrong?
After you make the changes, but before you softreset, try changing a setting from the main settings screen (like the size of the on screen keyboard). Then, power off for about 30 seconds, then soft reset. Sometimes it is tricky getting registry changes to get written to the device.
My first experience of playing with registrys and it works a treat
How can you also turn off the notification AND get the Exec to Sync? Mines decided not to Sync anymore
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Get rid of the sent SMS message confirmation

Hey, I found a thread from before that gives directions on how to disable the sent sms message confirmation but it doesn't seem to work.
Anybody figure out how to make that work on WM6?
with a reg editor go to
HKey_Local_Machine\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\
create a key called \Settings\ and within that key create a DWord value called SMSNoSentMsg and its value to 1
or just goto sound and notifications, and then goto the open new connection, and disable the text notification. no registry edit necessary.

I still don't know why the phones even come with this notification. It is single handedly one of the most annoying "features" ever and this registry edit is one of the first ones I do when I get the phone.

[Solved] Turn-ON notification of sent sms

Hi.
I found on the forum that there are a lot of threads to disable the notification sound/vibration when a sms is properly sent.
I would like to enable it!
I had something similar on my old TYTN II, but on my HD Mini I've tried the Advance Configuration Tool V3.3, but also if I put Enable "SMS sent notification" I do not receive any notification after sending sms..
Can Someone help me, thanks

But the delivery report is a notification sent by the operator? Isn't it?
In that way I have to pay an extra fee...
I would like, like the TYTN II, a vibration/sound that alert me that the sms is sent...
Thanks
Go to Settings tab.
Click Menu > All Settings.
Click Sounds & Notifications icon.
Switch to Notifications tab.
Under "Event:" drop down list, choose "Message: Send succeeded".
Check-mark on Play sound, choose the sound file of your choice.
Check-mark on Display message on screen.
Check-mark on Vibrate.
Click Done.

thisis how I turn it off when my HTC mini reset itself so I guess reverse the process!
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox using the registry editor
Make sure Inbox is selected and create a new key called Settings (if it’s not already present)Tap on Settings to highlight it and create a New String Value. The name of the value should be
SMSNoSentMsg and the Value Data 1
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Jataayu\Messaging]
and look for DisableSMSSuccess. You will need to modify it's value data. "1" is for no sent notification and "0" is for sent notification.
