Hello everyone,
I need some help wth this problem.
I have installed Windows Vista RC2 on my laptop.
I've got a Belkin Bluetooth Dongle V 2.0 with EDR it uses Widcomm drivers and I've managed yto find the latest driver that work on Vista Widcomm Version 5.1.0.2500.
I've have a problem with file transfer to and from my laptop.
Evertime I try It does not find my pda.
My pda is paired with my laptop.
The service that it finds are: 1 Dial-Up Networking, 2 Obex Object Push, 3 Voice Gateway this is what it shows WSter on my laptop.
On the pda instead it find this: 1 Headset, 2 Serial port, Dialup Networking, Wireless Stereo and that all.
Should it show as well the Obex Object Push on the pda??
I've got the tick in receive all beam file in the infrared menu.
The Bluetooth is alway on.
I tryed my pda as well on my sons desktop which has the same bluetooth and it send and receives file with no problem but that users Windows XP.
Am I missing something in Microsoft Vista.
On the Laptop I can syncronise with my pda with no problem via USB using WMDC.
Do I need to download something extra for the bluetooth to work fully.
Please can anybody advice me please.
Thank You

does anybody know why on htc p3600 (trinity) I can't able to connect from linux via rfcomm? The idea is those that I ever do on all bluetooth phones that I used (nokia and symbian works very well): I want to connect from my laptop to inetrnet by g3 connection from the phone via bluetooth.
So.. the htc p3600 has a serial port on channel 4 so I had configured the rfcomm on linux to connect to the phone... But I can't be able to do nothing...
involved in desperation I compiled and installed SyncCE (the 0.10 that should works on windows mobile 2005) on my proud gentoo
But it don't work......... What's the matter with those bill gates phones? On the phone I have add a in port with protected connection...
solved...

rfcomm for dialup isn't supported for this kind pf phone
Hi
I have been searching for a way to get Bluetooth Networking up between my Laptop(WIDCOMM STACK) and rw6828(WM5). But couldnt get it done.
I have Paried both Laptop and 6828. ActiveSync is up and working fine.
I want to have a bluetooth networking enabled between the laptop and 6828 so that I can use VNC client to control the PC through bluetooth network without having Activesync. But when I read the PC i could see only Serial Port, ActiveSync and Dialup Networking. I couldnt see Network Access.
I could get few links on the net but all of them are representing WM2003.
Does WM5 support this kind of configuration?
Can any one direct me to a step-by-step guide?
Thanks in advance
Can anyone let me know how to enable the networking on Bluetooth+WinXP+WM5?
hi parakash , i think i know you , do you work in garment sector.
anyway after pairing the device with the laptop, you have to connections
and you will find your laptop name there, just follow the line.
Hi Solo
Thanks for the reply. I could Pair with my laptop successfully. But couldnt find Network Connections there after. So wondering if this feature is support on WM5?
BTW I m not in Garment sector.
Portable 3G/HSDPA WiFi Router
Is anyone aware of such an item?
Ideally incl a car charger?
Or is it is possible to turn a WM5/WM6 phone into a portable WiFI AP ?

Goal is to connect my MacBook to PC via Bluetooth as to use Internet which runs on PC. Don't have wireless router.

Hope the title says everything about my problem. I don't know if it is not the right forum to post.. If it's off-topic, I request the mod to move this to a more appropriate forum.
My specs:
HTC P3452 (ELFIN) using a custom 6.1 ROM(with the default MS BT stack)
Windows XP Professional SP3 using Widcomm BT stack
UTSTARCOM router to connect to the internet.
My problem:
I want to use bluetooth as the primary medium of connection between PC and PPC .
By 'connection'; I only mean efficient file sharing and internet connection sharing (only from PC to PPC; not the other way round; 'cause I don't have a GPRS/EDGE data plan on my PPC)
MS Activesync does both of these (but not very efficiently) , and there are a lot tutorials on how to connect PC and PPC using Bluetooth and then sync them using Activesync. But as everyone knows, being the crappiest software ever Activesync often auto-disconnects, even if the PC and PPC are still connected by bluetooth .
Using the ready-made solutions provided by the Widcomm Software, it's very easy to share files, as the MS stack supports FTP.
The Widcomm software also offers a service named "My network access" and creates a Bluetooth LAN connection on PC; and those were supposed to be able to establish a LAN connection between PC and PPC over Bluetooth, but it doesn't .
(The MS BT stack of Windows Mobile doesn't enable PAN by default. I used a hack by some user of this forum (wm6btpan) . But that doesn't seem to solve the problem either, although it enables me to use my PPC as a remote control.. )
So at this point, I need your help in establishing the connection between the PC and PPC so that the PPC can use PC's internet connection. For the last 1.5 days I have searched nearly hundreds of resources but nowhere found a complete solution working for a HTC Touch. If , with your help ,I can get my setup going, then I promise to put up a full fledged tutorial on how to do this...
Hoping early response..
