Hi folks! Been Browsing your pages a lot these days and I like your stuff. SO I thought I'd sign up and give something back to you: A custom startup animation for the X1. Put the file into Windows folder (overwriting the original) and there you go. Warning: You cannot do this over ActiveSync! I'm not sure if it works with the built-in file explorer, I did it with RESCO Explorer, works fine after confirmation. Make sure you have a backup copy of the original file somewhere. I'd be glad to hear some comments Tell me if you like it or not and WHY. If you don't have any idea what this is gonna do: It will change the animation right after the Sony Ericsson logo when you power it up. Sony Ericsson logo before and Windows logo after remain untouched.
EDIT: Just found out that I have to ZIP the file... Otherwise it becomes JPG. So Download, Unzip, and THEN copy.
Well I kinda made one too. Just for fun.
If the startup animation doesn't show up, download the ALLOWANIM.ZIP file, extract and merge the registry settings in your x1.

And another attempt by me, this one's a little bit more exciting and I've stolen your idea about fading the logo PSD this time included.
The animation goes like:
Fade out SE logo
Show "Sony Ericsson" text with a shiny animation
Fade in white glowing "X1"
Fade out glowing "X1"
Hope you like it, haven't tested it yet on my X1.

my x1 only has SEMC2904.bmp in windows folder, im using resco.
so tried to change name of SEMC1904.gif to it and says cant overwrite because its part of rom.
what am i missing ? please help

Sigh: neways 1904 is the animation, and part of rom but it won't do anything but play at the boot so safe to replace from rom.
The 2904 is part of the static splash screen with the big green SE logo. Replacing it won't damage anything. Safe to replace.
If you want bootscreen change, just replace welcomehead.192.png, again safe to change Have fun.

So sexy! Now one last thing: I'd make it stop some time once the I SE live is there, a still picture for say 1 sec. Otherwise it will directly go away during boot. Nice work! What apps did you use?

Hey, I'm trying to make some bootscreens but I dunno which gif editor to use, both Ulead and Animation Shop Pro give me gif files that dont play properly, they come up as static :S Anyone gimme any pointers?
[I'm trying to make a bootscreen where it shows the HERO with the android boot.gif (and removing the "HTC" animation frames), then the nexus boot1.gif then looping nexus boot2.gif, if anyone can make a boot_animation.xml file, I'd greatly appreciate it]

Yes, you just make the gif and set it as your startup animation using advanced config.
did that. it booted then the screen went blank till it fully booted. does it need to be the exact same resoulution as my topaz? and is there a size limit for the animation. and does anyone know of a good freeware animation program?

It should be 480x800 to display properly.
Not sure about exact size perameters but if it is too long it will not play. Sometimes it takes several attemtps to get it right.

I don't know exactly but my animation plays about 15-20 slides.
Also, play with the timeouts in AC, I had an issue where mine didn't work after I flashed a new ROM, but I finally got it working again by messing around with the network screen timeout.
ok I got it to somewhat work. it loads my animation but for some reason it flickers like but still plays at a good speed.any ideas?

Your best bet would be to ask around in the android and nexus one threads
Heres a couple animations I edited into 480*800 a short one and a long one. No matter what I use the screen still flickers on my topaz but the animation looks fine on my computer.

Is it possible to have a moving background instead of an .jpg/.bmp/.png with in the FT3D menu?
I've installed the background4all tool so my kids are constant in my view!
But I'd like to have a new picture ones in a while.
Or better a small movie!
So is there a tool that would let me play a flash file, a movie file or a gif file?
On my Dell Axim X51 I had flash themes! but I didn.t have the program to create them with.
I would like to have them in my FT3D but if that is not possible a flash theme is ok to.

What do you mean with a panoramic background? Is that a 10 pictures wide wallpaper that scroll to the left or right when I go from home to internet or massages??
That would be cool to, but I have a floder on my HTC with about 60+ pictures of my family. All resized to the screen size of my HTC pro.
That's why I would like to have a flash wallpaper player or an other moving wallpaper player.

There is Mortscript an is aw a script what changes Wallpaper.. you can customize the script to speed of change and add the Pics in the same folder as script...
good luck finding it i will lock after it when i have time or i could upload it...
