Light-on on SMS - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

If 9100 is suspended device lights on when SMS comes. It decreases battery charge dramatically. I'm confused why it does, because I have WM5 upgraded Qtek 9090 and it doesn't, it just notify me by alarm. Is there any registry hack or something?

...try to enable only sound and vibration in notification settings for text messages. disable all other tabs. this should solve the problem.
cheers, lutz

I tried. The same behavior (it seems to me it's default settings).

Cingular 8125 GoodLink Vibrate Problems.

I have the Cingular 8125 and I love it, but I also have the same problem. I have Goodlink installed and if my device is sleeping it will not vibrate when emails come in. It will make the sound but no vibration. I am currently using Mortsaver for now to keep the device running with the screen off, so that I can feel the vibration and know that I have received an email.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
If you go into the GoodLink Preferences menu from any of the GoodLink applications, then go into Notification, you have to check off Vibrate there. I've done it and it works.
I have already checked the box to enable the vibration. It does work as long as the phone is not sleeping (default 3 min).
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
I've noticed that GoodLink stops vibrating every so often as well. I usually do a soft reset and functionality is restored. I remember when GoodLink first came out on the Treo using the camera used to kill GoodLink vibration. I believe this was because Palm would disable vibration while in camera mode and then GoodLink never realized if it was re-enabled. I think the same is true here though I haven't been able to pinpoint the app causing the problem. Hope this helps!

Annoying ! Alarm rings but doesn't show. ie: can't stop

I used Alarm all the time and it was always working fine,
Since I emptied the battery a few days ago and manage to resucitate it (USB cable direct connection to battery) .. strangely the alarm now rings as usual, but NO Notification message is displayed.
Result = impossible to turn the alarm off ! :-(
Anyone had this behaviour before ?
Check your notification queue and remove anything that looks suspicious. It'd be wise to do a backup first.
V
there is no notification at all ..
in the queue.
I soft-reset and it still rings with no "notification" queue on the TODAY screen
How did you check the queue? You need something like Memmaid.
Also check your registry in the clock section to see if alarms are enabled/disabled.

I have just upgraded my OS since ...
O2 UK has it available now, so it fixesitself by the hard reset anyway.
thx.

No vibration anymore...

My TyTn doesn't vibrate anymore...
Yesterday it frooze while receiving a phonecall. It frooze so bad that it wouldn't even restart after a hardreset. After playing around, removing battery, sd-card, sim-card, waiting a while, I finally managed to do a hard reset.
So then I took the opportunity to upgrade my Dutch 1.18 ROM to the Cingular 1.34 WWE. Everything went fine (after a few retries).
But now my phone doesn't vibrate anymore. I did a softreset to remove all extra programms but that didn't work either: no vibration anymore.
Anyone had or has the same problem (maybe after a ROM upgrade)?
I fear it's a hardware problem (the next in a row of ...).
Problem solved!
I found a strange solution for my problem, very strange...
In my Sounds & Notifications I always have Events disabled (because I don't want to hear my screen clicks). With this option disabled my vibration always worked.
Desperate as I was I enabled it and much to my surprise my vibration was back!!!
Since this was strange to me I checked my other deveice, a QTEK S100, and at this one my Events also is disabled in combination which the vibration still works.
So back to my TyTn, I disabled my Events again and see: my vibration keeps on working!!! So now my settings are back to where they were and my vibration is also back...
I don't know what to think of this, maybe a registry-setting was set to a wrong value en corrected by my enabling/disabling Events???
(I checked the "flashing service LED" before; that was value 1, enabled, so that wasn't the cause).
Probably something was happened with uninstalling operations or setting some options in some software: changing them caused a mistake in registry keys and the time key for vibrating was blanked.........
Well, however you're very lucky...... isnt' it??

Text Messages & TYTN II Wakeup

Hi all,
I've searched high and low for a solution to this and am desperate to have a resolution. My problem is when a text message comes in my phone wakes up and doesn't go back to sleep/standby. I have disabled all notifications when an SMS arrives, but still the phone ignores this and wakes up the screen and doesn't disable it again (quickly draining the battery).
Does anyone have a solution for this? A registry tweak/software package?
Thanks
Why don't you set it up so that when the phone is idle, it turns itself off? THen if you get a text, the phone wakes, but will go back to sleep assuming it is idle.
I do
It already has that setting -- 60 seconds = power off, it seems to not work after an SMS has come in.
I also have the phone in my pocket so it's never "idle" for 60 seconds because it generally touches the screen, etc in the pocket.... but even when on the table the backlight stays on after SMS...
VERY FRUSTRATING
No idea?
It would be enough if the SMS-Income sounds, but no wake!
Once i tried automatic screenlock after wakeup, but this is annoying too.
I'd like to know a trick how to disable wakeup after SMS.
Maybe s2u2 could solve this for you.

No vibrator when recieving messages

Recently my phone stopped vibrating when I get a new message - Is there any fix without me having to du a hardreset? Maybe a reg tweak or something?
did you check under Settings -> Personal -> Sounds & Notification?
Did you recently kill off your LEDs? The reg edit that disables all LEDs also kills off vibration. Took me nearly 3 months to figure this out...
No I actually didn't check there... My bad! But the strange thing is that the vibrator works fine when sending messages even when I haven't activated it in that menu... :-S And no my led's all work just fine
