Hi, i am using Dopod 838 (Wizard variant). I have a few cosmetic problems with it. when i view the contacts information some of the items like "Call Mobile" etc are all in Bold. is there a way we can set the "Wt" registry settings to normal for it? Similarly in Today screen also?
Thanks

Hello I have a T-Mobile MDA Pro. It has a very ugly theme, fortunately it is possible to change it back to windows mobile 5 defaults. Only the phone pad and the contactlist still show up in this ugly pinkt t-mobile look. How can I change that back to default wm5 too ?
i have sucessfully managed to reset the phone pad to the wm5 default skin via the registry. But the contact list as well as the call chortcuts are still in the tmobile look and feel. Also the phonepad has an ugly tmobile logo in the top right corner (With ugly white border). What can I do ?
Care to share the registry changes you made?

while the above apprach resets the fullscreen phnepad to default, the popup phone pad (the one in the lower that can be used instead of the software keyboard) is STILL in the ugly T-Mobile look. How can I set that one to wm5 default too ?
I have an O2 XDA Mini S and a T-Mobile MDA Vario.
The today screens are different configurations.
The O2 has some tabs across the bottom. One is for the Today home screen, one is for adding custom program links and the third is the settings window.
I would like to add these tabs to the Vario.
Does anyone know how this can be done?
you would have to install the O2 Active software. There's a bunch of alternative pieces of software which can achieve the same thing, though - cLaunch and such
Thanks ZeBoxx.
CLaunch - An even better solution to than the O2 one.

Have you even read your manual?
Those options should be available under settings >> Today Screen.
Also do some light reading all these basic answers should be available in a short google search.
i'm very sorry.
i did go to settings >> Today Screen. but i cant add anything...
all i see is
date
vodafone calendar
vodafone sms
vodafone mms
vodafone email
do i have to hold down somewhere or click somewhere to add "active tasks"
or can i not because its vodaphone branded? i cant seem to add "owner information" either
i know this sounds stupid but i really cant seem to add it...
thanks for your help in advance
jason
Looks like you have some heavy vodaphone customisation. The options you have are not standard and tasks is normally available to choose. You have a few choices with varying degrees of difficlulty.
Flash ROM to non vodaphone branded one (not for the novice)
Investigate which registry keys affect today screen items, and make changes (moderate difficulty)
Install a third pary application that shows tasks - (simple)
Wait for someone with a vodaphone device to come up with an alternative (suitable for the easy going!)

Go for the thrid party softwares
Even if you change the registry you will never get rid of the operator's customisations
I've got Wisbar Advance Deskstop and Wisbar Tool
there is plenty of other's, check out the SBP range, its quite good
and all are very user friendly with plenty of skin cutomisation and stuff
Try the rltoday plugin, it free and see how you go

thanks rickyjune and mikechannon.
i;ve gone and got spb pocket plus but it just aint as good as having it on the today page
maybe i'll read up and attempt to put windows 6 on it
thanks again!
spb pocket plus are for experts
that was a bold step man
but that something to work up to, try wisbar then the desktop
and there are so many deskstop theme on the forum that you can upload
I've got 3 today screen thanx to the desktop
Have you changed your today theme away from the vodaphone one to a windows standard one to see if you can then change your items?
Hello folks! Is there a way to install HTC Home with the *working* weather-function to a original T-Mobile MDA III Compact? Tried several without success, weather did never show up. The other functions where OK though. Would appreciate any input or guideline. Thanks!
You have to turn on the function in youe today menu of course...
Well, in fact I did exactly that. I see the icons for the contacts, media player, weather etc. and all work. Except the weather icon. If selected the screen area stays empty.
help me then....
i have tried all of the cabs and apps but i dont have any results. it shows its installed but i have no htc home screen on my phone. i have the more popular mda with wm6 tnt rom. what am i doing wrong.
Hello all,
Can someone extract the Treo 800W today screen dialer plugin? It appears that the Treo Pro will not have this nice plugin. This plugin resides on the Today screen and can be hidden using the hidelogo.cab.
I like how the plugin lets you dial directly from the Today screen. The WM6.1 dialer takes you AWAY from the Today screen to dial, which is inefficient.
If someone already have the extracted cab, can you please PM me? In the past, the plugin was made available here but Palm complained and it had to be removed. Thanks so much!
I share your pain!
hi,
I'm with you - I hate the standard WM dialer. I've just upgraded to a Treo Pro from a 750 and I am not enjoying the experience. If you got anywhere with your request could you share it with me?
Thanks,
John
Nope, so far no luck. No one has been willing to share or help.
Is this what you are looking for?
Thanks for the file. I don't think it's the right one. What I am looking for is Treo's on screen dialer. When you start typing a name or number, it automatically begin to display the matching contact right ON the Today's screen. Although WM6 have this same feature, it takes you to a new window for the search. It find this extra screen inefficient.
Take a look at the image at this post. It's the second item on the screen. The one that says "Type a name or number"

I think it's called "Dial look-up," but I think it is also part of "Active call" (the search box at least)
I just wish Palm's today screen plug-ins weren't so intertwined. I've tweaked them to off on my 700wx.
From my search in the forum, at some point, somebody did post this cab file. However it was removed because Palm supposedly complained to xda-dev. If it can be hosted offsite, that might work.
