Evertime I take a picture, my magician always save the picture to
My Document/xxxxx <----- xxxxxx is some kind of strings.
If I would like to specified the destination folder to
My Document/My Picture
What should I do?
Hello,
I can change the destination using this menu:
Camera -> Picture -> and then "Save in ..."
but like you I would like to put all the image in one folder and not multiple folder like "200050101" etc..
could'nt find it
Thank you for your answer.
BTW I couldn't find the menu that you said.
When I go to Camera, there is no "picture" menu.
- Start camera
- Tap on Tools icon right bottom corner. second from right
- select menu : Toolsoptions
- Select "save to" device as you want.
- also consider changing separately for image and video. they are different
AS
I didn't see it
There are only 2 options for me
-Save to Storge Card
-Save to Main Memory
Yours is different?
do a registry hack
you only have the option to change wether to store your pics on main memory or storage.
Edit your registry settings under "HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\AppDefSettings\Image\SaveFolder" for pics and "HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\AppDefSettings\Video\SaveFolder" for vids and set the String value to "\[FolderName]".
This will create a folder under your MyDocuments folder where the pics will be saved.
But note also that under that folder it will still create the "xxxxx" folder your talking about. Annoying isn't it? :x
I have a XDA2i and have the same problem of every time a photo is taken it creats a directory for that days pictures.
so could i also use that reg hack to at leat get all the folders it creats to go to one directory i.e i create a folder called XDApics and put it under my Documents.
I understand that in that new folder will be lots of daily created folders but it will clean up the my documents folder tho
JOhn
previous version
It's so wierd !!!
If I remember correctly while I was using XDA II, I can put my picture anywhere I want not in sub folder like this.
Why the previous version is better than the lastest one ?

I think it should also work on your xdaIIi. Also, you dont have to manually create a folder under your MyDocuments. Once you already set it on your registry, the folder will be automatically created after taking pics or vids.
And yes I'm using this trick to at least clean up my docs folder
it's not great we can't choose the directory..
I save my pics on my SD card and it create "My documents" directory on my SD Card.. boring......
I cannot find the Storage Card option
Hi there,
I'm using i-Mate JAMin, win mobile 5 and the only available options here are Main Memory and Network. In other words I cannot change to save the photos and videos to the SD card. Please, help!
P.S.: I also tried setting a new path within the registry settings, changed the path to '\Storage Card\My Photos\' with no luck - it creates the directories under the 'My Documents' in the main memory. It's a big pain in the ass b/c I don't have enough space to make lots of photos or clips.
I've looked on the registry and tried fiddling but resulted in a) a crash that required a soft reset and b) message saying couldn't save the file when i changed the picture location to \my documents\my pictures.
Whenever I save a picture on the 2i it saves it into a folder in MD with the date as the folder name, with the picture stored in it. Any way to change this?

Did you manage to get a solution to this - I'm looking for exactly the same answer. There is a possible reg key, but changing that caused problems.
Also for me.
I've a Qtek 2020i from few days and I would like to know store all the photos in one folder.
At the moment I set the path of saved photos (SD card) but I want to have all the photos in one foolder instead of multiple photos in multiple folders. :?
Bye !
Still no work around for this ?
No news for me
I never did get an answer no, and I've given up looking for one myself.

I was thinking of creating a small apllication that you could run to move the pictures/movies from the numeric folders to a default folder such as My Pictures, im reading up on how it could be achieved at the moment.
On my xda 2, I made a directory on storage card, and they are all in that folder. What happens with yours? You can prefix it with anything you like, I call mine pic and it increments pic_001 etc. The settings are under camera, then click the spanner/screwdriver, then click tools, then click options. I changed the prefix to string and defined the string in the next box down under prefix string, the folder is changed under folder by clicking change.
For some reason the "Folder" option is missing on the XDA 2i so even though you can select the location (Main memory or storage card) it still saves it in \My Documents\xxxxxxxxxx <--- the x's refer to the date ie
05071800001 , 05(year)07(Month)18(Day) the rest is the folder number i think ? 00001 ?
Why they never used the same configuration as the other phones is beyond me but nevermind !

Hi,
Can the IMATE JAM save the pictures taken by the camera directly into the SD card & not the internal memory (too small as u all know)..
Is there any other Camera program that can do that?
Sahmedkh
If you start your camera in the bottom right corner is the little box with the screw driver and wrench in it, tap that. Now you will see camera settings screen. On the bottom left corner is "Tools", tap that then tap options. You will then see a few different settings, one being "Save To" just tap on the drop down and select Storage card. Voila!
Thank u v. much ! DONE

Can they be saved to the internal storage too? Settings do not allow that but those 7-8MB would be pretty good for that kind of thing.
I've all my progs in RAM (I've a Qtek S110 with 128MB RAM so that is no problem) and my SD-Card holds the backups, navi maps, ebooks, mp3s and movies etc. The storage is not used atm and I'd love to use it for the cam.
Any way to do that???
Private-Cowboy,
Thay can only be saved to the default or storage card only.

Yea thats what the settings dialog allows you to do. But I thought maybe you can do that by changing a reg entry like redirecting the AvantGo files
Hello ppl ,
I've an Imate Jasjam , i donwloaded some camera templates from the net .gif format ,just the way , 3 defaults(woman man of the year) are in , I put the template in the templates folder , no avail , I put them in windows folder no avail, how can I add extra templates ?
yes that's an interesting question.
I believe it should be possible but dunno how...
anyyne got anthin ?
the gif files must have a layer for each picture to be inserted with the mask on it. if you are sure they have this setup just check the picture orientation. i had to turn mine by 90 degrees, to make them visibel in the camera app...
hope that helps...
edit:
i have mine in the templates folder on the sd card....
Put your templates in storage card/My document
Then in carmera, there is a setting allowing you to chose the templates from main+card.... then the carmera will detect those templates in storage card

Hello all,
Took receipt of my HD today and for the most part i'm loving it...there is however a few things bothering me, and i'm hoping someone can help?
1> How do i create new folders for images, music, ringtones etc?
2> How do i then move things to the relevant folders?
3> How do i get album info for music if i dont already have it?
4> How do i resize an image and save it as wallpaper so it fits?
Thanks for any help you can give....
wallpapers - look under the themes / apps sections section
move folders - use 3rd party file explorer (deafult explorer won't let you expore windows folder ... ) or through active sync / explore - most of the programs can be found in /windows /start menu or programs - just drag and drop .... make new folders etc etc.....
sms tones should be copied directly to windows folder on the phone ..... ringtones, they seem to be stored in my documents / my ringtones on the phone
images - default seems to be in storage card DCIM blah blah blah
as for 3 & 4 ...not sure... but A search on the forums will help you through the other problems you stated
hope this helps....

1. Use one of the file explorers used. Work on same process as file exporer on your pc.
If using File explorer to, to create a new folder press File > New Folder or hold down stylus/finger > new folder
If using Total Commander, press file icon with + on it
All ringtones should be saved to either /windows/Rings or Storage Card/My Documents/My Ringtones. Obviously less space taken up on computer is stored on storage card
2. To move things, select and hold down them by either using finger or stylus. Window should pop and select send to
4. Try reading a few of these threads

There are plenty more out there if you search for 'Wallpaper' in the forum
3:
Make sure the MP3 tags + album pics are in order on your PC before transfering it to your HD. Use any ID3Tag editor to do this. Once the info is correctly set up in the MP3 files, it should show up in the musicplayer.
Thanks to you all for the replies, i've managed to do most of the stuff i needed to...just one more thing though, i got a HD because of its size hoping my big sausage fingers would be able to use the keyboard, and although i still can it could be easier, is there a way of turning the keyboard to landscape rather than portrait as default?

Latest manila versions and roms you can rotate 90 degrees to landscape so you have option of both portarit and landscape.
Also, for example Duttys latest roms he has an application called FlipIt (do a search) where you can select rotation angles for apps, so you could actually set certain apps to only work in landscape.
