Update to MS Voice command registry hack with SE662 headset - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I changed the registry successfully and on my first attempt used the headset to activate MS VC. Trouble is once the call has ended it appears that the 'gateway' is not closed, therefore you cannot make another call via your headset button until the device is 'warm booted'.
Is there any fix out there that will address this problem. Does it have anything to do with the BT vs Widcomm stacks.
Thanks :?

I find if I hang up using the headset button (Scala 500), even if the other party has already cleared down, the audio gateway closes and the next press of the button on the H/S reacivates audio and fires up VC again.
Are you clearing the call from the h/s or just letting the other party clear down to release the call?

MS Voice issues with Bluetooth headset
to be honest I've not really noticed. At times I would clear first, others it would be the person I called.
All I know is once the call has cleared I'm left with an open 'gateway' If I restart the headset it's still 'open'. It's only when I soft reset that it clears the headset.

It could obviously be different across different headsets, but with the Scala, audio stays on after a VC command, and I need to press the button once to close it, and a second time to get the VC prompt back. Something like this...
Press...
<Mic Symbol>
"What is the battery level?"
"The battery level is 23%"
Press... (to close audio gateway)
Press...
<Mic Symbol>
After a call, I usually press the button just in case, and I don't recall it restarting the VC prompt, so I assume it's closing the audio gateway. Maybe it's just my timing and i'm closing it as we say "goodbye", so I always force the call to close down, even if the other party is doing the same?
There have been a few "VC doesn't work reliably" threads, so maybe it does, as long as the h/s behaves as MS expected. If you don't use the h/s, just the phone VC button and mic/speaker, is VC okay then?

That's the way it works for me with T-Mobile Vario & Jabber 250 HS.
What I would like to be able to do is disable the Jabbers own ring tone as it masks the incoming caller announcment, and I appear to get the
phones own ring tone played in the headset anyway.
Also is there any way to make just the voice louder?

I think the VC announcement voice is a normal system volume (system), and the phone call is the in-call volume (right) sliders on the volume dialogue that pops up when you tap the speaker icon on the today title bar. I don't know of a way to increase the VC annc over the ring tone.
I did find on my Qtek that there's a hidden system .wav file in /windows called LB.wav which appears as an alarm and is a really loud 'boing' sound. I copied it to /windows/loudboing.wav with Total Commander, removed the system/hidden flags and use that as an alert. I guess, in reverse, you could use a sound editor to reduce the level of the ring tone .wav file and then turn the system volume up so that the VC annc (if that's what you want to increase) is comparatively louder than the ring tone...

MS Voice Command and Jabra BT200 Headset

Are they compatible?
I've changed the registry to use the voicecmd.exe file instead of the inbuilt Voice Dialer (which I must admit, I never tested with the Jabra!)
But when I press the Jabra button, I hear a noise in my ear but it doesn't seem to activate anything on the MDA Pro itself...
What am I doing wrong?
Have you got the lid closed? If the screen is closed it doesn't work.
This is mad.
If I press the button on my Jabra, I now hear that the voice path is activated but saying "help" into the Jabra mike doesn't do anything. No "mike" icon on the device (lid is open) and nothing happens.
However, with this voice path open, if I then press the voice command button on the device, everything works through BT. I hear the woman and can speak to her.
However, pressing buttons on each device seems a very silly way of doing it.
I should be able to press JUST the headset button, right?
I use the same hardware without issue
I find some commands dont work so well over bluetooth - but call seems to work OK!
I find the built-in mike is better to practice with first THEN try with the headset
I use DIAL <name> at HOME or on mobile etc and this seems OK
My only ***** is than on both BT and the device the VC voice is too low!!
While I remember to 200 Headset supports two profiles - I find the basic one works better with VC (that way you dont accidentally redial if you double tap the button!)
Found the problem. I reinstalled the VC software with no joy, so checked the reg entry. I was missing the space between "Voice" and "Command", so no wonder it wasn't working...
I would have expected an error of some kind instead, maybe... but at least it is solved now.

Bluetooth headset call button problem.

I got TyTN and at the same time I got a SE HBH-DS970 bluetooth headset. Ofcourse there is the skipping problem playing music and the extremly anoying all-sounds-transfer-to-headset issue.
But from what I see others have posted there really no good tweak or reg hack to fix that until there is a rom upgrade.
But my other issue I have is an other thing. I have played around a bit with MS Voice Commander, and I like it alot. I done the regfixes to lock it to the callbutton on the headset and so, but here is where I get my problem.
Pressing the callbutton on the headset works, it launch Voice Commander, but for some reason the sound is rather bad, I hear some noise in the background, kinda just it have picked up the phone or started to use some "amplified" microphone (can't find a better way to describe it, but for some reason the headsets microphone seems to be amplifed).
It also take about 1-3 sec before I see Voice Commanders microphone in the topbar on the screen.
It is very anoying since it more or less make voicecommander useless, the "amplified" microphone (or what is is that generate the noise) is alot more sensitive and if it isn't totaly silent around you it simply wont understand me.
This "noise" only happens if I use the Callbutton on the headset and not if I use the button on the phone itself, if I press the button directly on the phone and launch the program like that it works perfect, no noise, program launch in a sec and you hear Voice Commanders beep in the headset and it work perfect.
I just wonder if anyone else have a similare problem like me and if anyone know a fix/tweak or something.

Where might I find those reg fixes?
My Motorola S9 headset phone button doesn't launch M$ Voice Command.
Did you use the instructions in the massively long thread regarding MS VC 1.6 and BT?
As for the delay, those instructions do tend to induce a delay, but as for a hyper sensitive mic, not sure. I do know that using the handset for VC is WAY more sensitive to noise than my Jawbone.

Dopod M700 did not work with SE HBH-DS970???

I use Dopod M700 and Handfree bluetooth Sony ericsson HBH-DS-970, I have problem about handfree.
After I compaired such devices, I could listen MP3 by DS-970 through WMP. It's worked and give qaulity sound! But, when I used DS970 as handfree/small talk, It's not worked. I could not answer/call by using DS-970. When incoming call while I listen MP3, WMP stopped but I could not recieved call through DS-970, I must recieved call by M700 only.
How should I do? Help me pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
PS : I used official rom and did not install any program.
Go in Comm Mgr BT settings and refresh your DS970 services and ck: handsfree and wireless stereo, save. See if the phone part works.
And if that doesn't work, maybe since the DS970 can only be paired with one phone, it needs to be re-set - then re-paired. I think the instructions are on page 10...yep, found my book: Turn off headset, then press and hold the on/off for 5 secs - you will hear a long beep. Now it is ready to be paired. Next: press & hold the on/off and call handling button simultaneously for 5 secs. The headset will turn off.
When I turn on BT, I find it best just to go into BT devices and refresh the services on the DS970. It seems to behave better...
Thank you very much. I made follow your advise. It's almost ok, but when incoming call, no ringtone in both M700 and DS-970 but it show number and contact. In M700 vibrated only and no ringtone in both M700 and DS-970.
May M700 did not work with DS-970???
Any suggestion. Thank you.
Hello
I've similar problem, i can hear songs etc... i even hear the ring when somebody calls on my DS-970, but when i try to accept the call using DS-970, it is not being accepted, and if press the answer button again, the bluetooth gets disconnected and the phone starts ringing.
Not sure what's causing it.
I'm using O2 Exec with the latest rom.

Hello
No problem i just found the solution to it:
Here's what I did:
* I deleted the HBH-DS970 from the list of BlueTooth devices
* Then I bonded them again (by setting the the little switch on the headset to the left and pressing the power button for about 5 seconds after it had powered on
* Now I move the switch over to the right
Now I can listen to music and when I have an incomming call, I get a short "beep", and I just press the mic button to answer. Then the music pauses, and resumes when I hang up.

It happened to me when I tried DS970 at the SE shop today. Saddly that I was going to buy it
I am using Atom Life

Xperia Ring volume up and down.

Looks like I'm having another strange "quirk" of my Xperia.
For some reason my ringtone goesu p and down when it rings.
It starts loud for about half a second then goes quiet, then after a second or two goes loud again, then quiet and so on, so forth.
Anybody got any ideas why it does this? The damn thing is too quiet as it is let alone with the volume wobbling up and down all over the place.
I'm using an mp3 that I trimmed with mp3 trimmer, the mp3 volume is normal, i have tried it on PC and bluetoothed it to several other phones.
Of note, after a hard reset it worked normal for a little while, but then started doing this again.
A friend suggested it might be a feature of "something" i have installed so you can tell the difference between the ringer and your music that's playing.
I just find it annoying and would like to fix it.
Any suggestions, ideas welcome. Thanks.
P.S. It happens with other ringtones already on the device also.
If you have installed Microsoft Voice Commander, uninstall it.
I had the same problem, after uninstalling Microsoft Voice Commander its working fine.
I have the same problem, but I kind of like how it varies.
Correct
You are correct, I do have voice command installed. I wonder why the voice command would be made to change the ringer volume though, it's not like it's to prevent the system thinking the music is a voice command, because a key has to be pressed first, in which case the music would pause.
My only other idea is that (like nokias etc) the part where the volume decreases, the system (voice command software) is supposed to "read" the contact name out loud to you. (but it doesn't).
so if you uninstall microsoft voice command, does it mean the phone will not have the feature for VOICE DIALING?
cause i use microsoft voice command in order to make phone call while im plugged into my wired headset

Yup - go to Settings and MS Voice Command, select Phone, Options and untick "Announce incoming calls".
Thank You, i was terribly worried
I guess there is enough software around, that provides you the feature of voice dialing. I for instance use VITO Voice Dialer.

[Solved] Bluetooth headset volume reset to low in every call

I want to mention this problem though i know it has been questioned previously with no answer.
When during a call you raise the bluetooth headset volume then the phone doesnt remember the setting and you have to raise the volume after the next call and again and again.
Very annoying!!Also raising the bt headset volume then the volume control opens and the ringer sound is raised too and i need to lower it after each call!!
Any solution on this?
Thanks!!
solved it
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\ShellOverrides]
"SavedInCallVolume"=dword:FFFFFF
This key seems to save the in call volume.
Set to FFFFFF for maximum in call bt headset volume.SOFT RESET.
Works for me, now in each call the bluetooth in call voice is set to max and i dont have to raise it any more.
When for any reason the volume goes down again, click the volume button in the earphone, just to stimulate it, set your prefferred settings for ring volume etc and then soft reset and the high earphone volume is back.
It is not a complete solution, of course, but it is better than having to raise and low the volumes after each call.
Up to now there is not a better solution to this problem.
If someone knows a better registry setting or tip solution he can post it.
Another problem also is that sometimes the last call button is accidentally pushed in the bluetooth earphone and the last call is activated.
I will try to find the setting that disables last call through bluetooth if there is any.
has anyone else tried this? I have this problem with the t-mous version of the hd2.

if this works you are a life saver I have had this problem for over 3 months now with no answer I will give it a try and answer back!
edit: it works!!!
I've just tried this, and get the following error:
Error : System.FormatException: FormatException at System.Number.ParseUInt32() at System.UInt32.Parse() at RegeditService.RegeditResponse.Send() at httpserv.Services.Service.sendResponse() at RegeditService.RegeditService.Exec() at httpserv.HttpServerWorker.run()
Any ideas?
i entered the value as dec...with total commander you can change in hex also
with this cab that I found here you can restore the original wm sound manager and the HD2 'remembers' the sound volume and keeps it at the highest level even with a bt headset!

I know it has been sometime to post in this thread, but I have found a work around.
Go to the market and download and instal the app 'Volume Locker' - its free. Make sure you do not activate it until you adjust the 'in-call bluetooth volume' level to a comfortable level (i usually call me wife, and then adjust the level while on the phone with her). Then before you end the call, go into the app 'Volume Locker' and activate it. Make sure you uncheck the box 'Allow Apps To Override'.
Now, everytime you call out using your bluetooth headset - it will remember your 'in-call bluetooth volume' setting.
I hope this works!

There is no "in call volume" setting in volume locker. Which box did you check in order to activate the in call volume?
