When I had my O2XDA there was a way of getting the ring to ring longer, before the answer phone kicks in - I seem to remember that it was a sequence of ####**** & number entered in to the phone app, but I cant find the post anywhere.
Can anyone remember and does it work for the Exec?
Also I believe it was an O2UK thing only.
Start -> Settings -> Phone -> Serivces tab -> Call Fowarding.
That should do it.

If you're using the Exec on o2, you can adjust the cut-in delay at the o2 end. You do so by keying in/sending the following to o2:
**61*901*11*xx# [send]
(where xx is number of seconds, e.g. 30.)
Note: I think the maximum delay allowed is about 30-secs - at least I've never got it to extend longer than that!
I have found that o2 occasionally reset mine back to about 10-secs, so have it programmed into a contact number.

same trick for t-mobile ?
Anyone know the same trick for t-mobile ??

Uhm thats exactly right.
You don't need to invent cheese or anything. Just untick the 'forward to voicemail if not answered in xx rings' box.

Once again I need your help, pls.;
Inside intellidialer there is the option to set up speed dial numbers.
How can pre installed number "one" be changed? For examle to my mailboxnumber, not to the preinstalled voicemail number.
Any ideas?
Thanx
I guess you can only change it be altering the network services :-(
Is it this one?
HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Vmail
V
V,
It is, though changing the Value does exactly the same as updating the Voicemail number in the services settings.
M
Did we want to change something else?
I've never used the SpeedDial, so forgive my unfamiliarity!
V
V,
I'm not sure what happens when you change the value. You can upload it to your provider & I guess your network settings could be really messed up. This is one of the ways to change it, that's correct. But the result ...? Well it's up to thormdac what to do with it.
Btw How's mrs V? Still grounded. I am

It is.
To be more exact, the voicemail number should be a REG_SZ (string) value next to name 'Phonenumber1'.
(No clue where the 'Phonenumber2' stands for.
On some networks the update via the services menu does not work (ie on my network: T-Mobile NL). Therefore I have put a cab in my ExtROM that sets just this value.
God I wish I was grounded!
I'm still in the office working extremely late on a horrible task that's likely to take most of the night, and tomorrow). For about the first time in a loooong time, I don't think I'm donig any programming tonight.
Can't wait for the weekend
I doubt changing your speed dial would change anything at your operator's end. You can probably just examine one of the cabs that contains operator settings (if you don't have one, search for buymobilephones.net on the board, I've posted a few). I imagine they change the voicemail speed dial themselves.
V
Gee,
I thought i was pretty routined with my mda.
My question came up after changing from german rom to wwe matmnl_11300_132_11200. Thereafter I noticed the voicemail number being setup as a netherlandsnumber. It was even loadede to my service provider. So the idea was to simply erase speed dial number one which you cant.
Now I edited the number in my systemsettings and uploaded it to my provider. Voila, works.
Only thing I cant change is the name of speeddial one. Ill try registry idea from edsub.
Thanx for your numerous help.
Changing the name is out of my league. Or in other words: can't find it, it might be stored in the intellidialer app.

In my Contacts in WM 2003 I used to be able to define an access number before I call my contact e.g.:
08707940000,,01xxxxxxxxx.
Where the first number is access number and the second is the contact's number.
However now, the phone only dials the access number (the first number) and after a short pause I can hear it dialling 3 to 4 DTMFs but it is not actually dialling them because the provider is not picking it up the DTMFs.
I have to dial the numbers manually and than its OK.
Can anyone reproduce this? Please help!
Same issue here... I have a contact like this:
+3493532XXXX,1234#,0561617XXXXXXX
This dials +3493532XXXX (my home number) where I have an asterisk box, then I hear the message "Please enter your password followed by the pound key" and the DTMFs for the password and # key are sent correctly (in the number the passwd is 1234), then I hear the tone where I can dial any number, I dial 056 (prefix to use FreeWorldDialout on my asterisk) and 1617XXX (USA Boston number)... I hear all the numbers, but I see my asterisk hanging up before the whole number has been sent.
Very weird... I will do some more tests to see if I can find any solution...
Ok, finally I got the solution... do not put more than 4 digits without a comma (pause)... i saved my contact like this and now it enters the password and dials correctly:
+3493532XXXX,1234#,056,1617,XXX,XXXX
Hope it helps you too!
I did what you did, the problem seam to be that the DTMF tones are not sent at all aldough I can hear them.
I'm getting this too very odd. Getting rather bored of holding the phone up to my speakers so I can play the right tone and empty my voicemail box!
hi.. got my vario II on friday, and i have the same problem. i used to be able to dial an international number on my UNIVERSAL by calling the local access number and insert a pause before dialing the international number for example: 02071246666,006596454343. however, this does not work on vario 2 and i am very upset about it!!
Hi,
you have checked this:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL: EnableDTMFSupport = 0
switch to
EnableDTMFSupport = 1
Hi,
Thanks for the help, but i tried that, but it was already set to "1".. i switched to "0", soft reset, switch back to "1", soft reset again, but still not working...
I am also having this problem, cannot empty voicemail at the moment.
I have the same problem on my Vario II. When I'm entering the number manually during the call I can hear the sound, but the other end does not respond to my input at all.
This is really annoying as I can't get into my voicemail or contact customer service
Anyone had a solution for it so far?
Are there more people with a TyTn/Vario with this problem? If so, do respond because it might be a bug or something...

On my Vario II if I go to the phone app dial 150 and when connected then press keypad I can then navigate the customer service menus by pressing the on screen number keypad if that is what you mean?
Yes, that is exactly what's not working for me. I can press the keys during the call, and I hear the tone, but somehow the other end does not get them.
Interesting topic I just saw on MoDaCo: http://www.modaco.com/Problem-with-Phone-Dialer-on-Hermes-t247377.html
It turns out that it is not just the DTMF, but also the d-pad up key not going to the call history, and the 3G icon having changed to U.
This all happened after a hard reset.
Can anyone else who did a hard reset confirm if they have any of these problems?
Check that
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\3GVTEngine\AMRDTMFToneFile = "\windows\dtmf122.amr"
then try changing the value of
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\3GVTEngine\UseAMRDTMFTone
from 1 to 0 or 0 to 1
No idea what it means, but it is set up in some Preconfig setups
Excellent, I solved my problems. What I did was re-install all the cab files from the extended ROM. This gave me back my T-Mobile dialer and also made the DTMF working again.

That worked for me to.
Mine worked fine untill I installed the DeepOcean dialler skin and then it stopped working - removed it and it came back (DeepOcean lacked smartdial).
Installed the Eten dialler and smartdial, and have lost the tones again, think this phone skin is great, but it won't properly uninstall (need the original T-mobile phone skin/graphics) so am currently stuffed!
Have done all the usual soft reboots etc.
I'm confident if I re-instated the deafault t-mobile dialler it would come back, however, I don't want to do a hard reboot and reinsatlll all the add-on apps and data.
Any ideas how to get the DTMF tones working - I can 'hear' them, they are clearly not being sent, If I put it on speaker phone, then in clear conditions the mike picks it up and it works!!
Any ideas?
DTMF Doesn't work - FIXED IT!
Fixed it!!
Editing the registry and setting the value to 0, then soft reboot and dtmf tones are working.
Setting it to 0 wasn't the obvious choice, and previously I hadn't soft rebooted.
Found the following from dhushy in:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=276700
Worked it out. For anyone with a similar problem, use the registry editor to locate the following key:
HKLM,"Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL","EnableDTMFSupport",0x0 0010001,1
Change the value from 1 to a 0 and Bob's yer Uncle (for non-British readers that means everything will be cushty - see Only Fools and Horses for a contextual translation)
Did this and I was able to manipulate my voicemail messages as normal.

A Big Thank you
This advice on changing the dtmf code from 1 to 0 was the thing ive been lokking for - for the last 4 months. A really big thank you
I am presently using a Wizard. Previously Himalaya and Blue Angel.
I have always had a problem with the ring duration of incoming calls. I have tried the GSM fix "#61##number" ..., but cannot change the settings (invalid command).
I dont know if this is a KPN Holland problem, but I do miss many calls because I dont get to the phone quick enough.
Anyone know any Registry fixes ??
Tony
Hi, I think this is a network setting. You can not change it thru the registry.
By the by, I think you are entering the code wrong. It should be ** not ##, like this:
If your mobile's voicemail number is, for example:
+27-82-131-987-6543
....and you want your phone to divert to your voicemail after say 20 seconds, then type:
**61*+27821319876543**20#
The time can be up to 30secs (network default)
ACTION CODE
Set number of rings **61*YourVoiceMailNumber**N#@
Cancel previous Setting entered ##61#@
N =Ring Time (up to 30sec)
@ = Send/OK button on your mobile phone
Got the above info from:
http://www.cellular.co.za/gsm_hash_code.htm
greetings from Amsterdam

Thanks Nispen, but I have tried what you suggested. I get
"Command not supported".
When using Phone/Services., I get "cannot save settings", so I guess this is
a KPN problem. Other people are getting the same thing with HP Ipaq's.
OK, I know there is a simple answer, but how do you make this phone ring more than three times before it rolls to voicemail?
Thanks!!

I believe it is a system setting. Dial 611 ask them to change it.

I have the same problem.
I hate it, when people complain that i always put them to voicemail...when in fact it goes to voicemail only after 3 rings.
PLEASEE HELPPPPP
Here's a list of GSM codes -- looks like 61 is the one you want.
thanks a lot buddy u solved my problm... and after looking for a while, i found that one can do it directy on an MDA.
Go to Start>
Settings >
Phone >
Services >
Highlight 'Call Forwarding' >
Click on 'Get Settings' >
from the 'Forward after' drop down menu, Select 30 seconds(or whatever u like, 30 seconds max).>
Exit settings.

What is the code you are trying to enter?
Generally if you get a number or code to enter for example 0800 25 TREE (Just made this up) you would dial 0800258733
i.e. T = Push button 8, R = Push button 7 & E = Push button 3
Found this on another site, seems easier than using an operator code.
"Regardless of the operator, the way to do this is to go: Start/Settings/Phone/Services, then tap Call Forwarding then Get Settings. The phone will connect to the network and retrieve your settings. In the Divert if Unanswered section is a choice box for the delay (up to 30 seconds); make your selection, then Send the settings back to the network."

Would tend to agree. Seems odd that orange would issue you a code and not explain this method instead!

O2 have a code as well. I think it's quicker for them to give that out than to walk people through how to set it on different makes and models of phones.

Sorry, but I think your example may be a bit misleading... As far as I know (these codes however are not that popular here in Germany), a "0800 25 TREE"-code should be entered as "0800 25 8733", and NOT "0800 25 87773333"... which means you push the number where the letter is "printed on" once, regardless whether it's the first, second, third or fourth letter on the button (so NOT like typing sms (without T9 or similar))...
...At least that's what I thought, but I maybe wrong...
