Show nicknames in contacts / Search

Is it possible to show nicknames in a contact on WM5 ? i meant so i can search for their nicknames under contacts.
I know i can go into each contact to c the nickname but i want to search for them
Im intressted to do that becuase most of my friends i got a "nickname" on so i dont need to search for their real names as i do now

No one knows?

Contact "View Name As" doesn't read nickname

Tried that, entering a new contact and an existing one, but all new contacts default to last, first. Nickname only drops in when viewing an idividual contact card. Let me know if I'm doing something wrong.

Creating a shortcut(.lnk) for adding contacts

I've read & searched through this forum and the upgrading one. I didn't a post anywhere telling me the .lnk for adding a contact. The reason I'm asking for this is because I'm using larna's iContac http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303045 & the iPhone App by Grumps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=302739 Using iContac, there isn't an option to add a contact, so I would like to add a buttong to Grumps' program that would take me directly to the add a contact menu...Thanks for help in advance and I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong section...also, it would be a big help if someone could tell me how to figure this out on my own for future programs...it should be able to be done something like this

Creating a link to a contact (or phone number)
I have a similar question to Maknificent's.
I am also using the iphone skin (with iContacts) on my wm6 wing. I have changed one of the default icons to a picture of my wife with a phone in the corner.
My question is... What is the text needed to link the picture to launching a phone number?
I know how to edit the Config.txt. Right now it is '\Windows\My5App.exe'. How do I change that line to dial my wife's number?
I have looked. If I missed a post that has already solved this I am truly sorry for reposting.

I was looking around the config.txt file of iPhone and noticed that this is the shortcut the start the phone:
\Windows\cprog.exe
Is there an extension that can be added to launch the phone and dial the number like:
\Windows\cprog.exe :555-555-1212
or
\Windows\cprog.exe (555-555-1212)

smart dialing

Hi!
I just got my jade....and I love it...but on my hermes WM had the option smart dialing. It was searching in the first AND the last name when I was dialing. Somebody recogniced this?

For me it is working. When typing someones name in the phone pad, contacts with matching first and last names are highlighted....

if have a "Juck Norris" in your adress bock, and you press 5(JKL) + 8(TUV) +6 (MNO) + 6(MNO) it should find it.
I only can search after first OR last names...

True, it will find all the matching characters in 'last name' and 'first name'. It will also find them in 'outlook contacts' as well as SIM contacts and display them both.

I don't understand this at all. I tried all was I thinking about, but no chance, that the phone is searching for last and first names at the same time....
nobody else this issuie?

Where do i find the function?

Hi,
can someone help med to find the place where i switch on the "search names in contact list" when im go to sms or dialer. I know i saw it once but cant remember.
It was so easy to just write the name in the dialer and the contact just popup.. same in the sms function.

click on "all people" there is search function right on top(with a magnifying glass) to search for contacts, from where you can send call, sms, email so on
or simply type the contacts name in the "to" field of new sms you will get their contact number
if that did not help please be more specific in your request

no , not that kind of search. But it was a good tips.
When go into "New SMS", the coursor start at "TO:" from there i can( or could) i start typing names and it find matchings from the phonebook. Or when i got the dailer up, i did'nt need to know the number, i just start to type the name and it find matching names from the phone book.
I know that i saw it somewhere in the settings, but cant find it again. Or have Dutty Rom not that function maybe.

not sure it works like that in SMS but if you start to type a name then use menue "check names" option it will list all that match.
in phone dialler it seems to check the list automatically but i think it is just the recently dialled numbers?

Yes, you found it, so simple.. wonder how i get the "Check Name" to be check all the time, not only for that sms.

Normally, it should automatically check Names if you begin typing in the "TO:" field.
Or am I wrong?

not on my Dutty 3.9 turbo. I know that on the original rom it was like that.

Weird, my 3.8 Dutty does still have this feature....
