hi guys
i have a annoying problem. i cannot choose any of my mp3s as my ringtone. they are saved under /memorycard/music and on my blackstone under /my documents/ but they dont appear in the drop-down-menu (tf3d settings -> sound -> advanced -> notification)
Try the Explorer to got to the folder where your Ringtone is. Press long on the ringtone-file and there will appear a menu. In this menu it will say something like "Set as Ringtone". Select this.
(it could be that it says something else, I got the Dutch Version of the HD/BlackStone)
thx ... it worked. actually the file was just copied to "my documents/ringtones"
obviously the songs need to be stored on the phone itself ...
too bad that it doesnt work directly with sound files on the memory card
and yes I've search, and it seems to apply to OTHER phone other than HD2, but if I've missed it, pls accept my apologies.
ok HKCU in the control panel, in the sound category
is the reg for where the ring tone is.
can i change this to point towards my storage card
I have a pocketAlarm that wakes me in the morning and it had no trouble finding the storage card, but I have PhoneAlarm that does

use Audio Manager !! open the Audio Manager program --- > click menu - > it will open PopUp window options - > and make sure the options on Set As Ring Tone
or you can try Vito Ring Tones Editor

Hello friends,
how can I change my standart .ogg ring tone with MP3 one, I'am with MDJs_CyanogenMod7_v.2.6_NAND_A2SD
Try settings- sounds
in sd card make a folder:media/audio/ringtones. put your mp3 in it. then while choosing sound, your device sees it,i think.
Hello there..i'm using GingerDX V005 right now..i cant set any of my mp3 songs as my notification for messenging..there are only a default notification tones in the setting...anyone of u knows how to set any mp3 songs as our notification tones without using any 3rd party software such as GO sms and etc. TQ..GOD BLESS all of u..
same Q from me
edit : sorry add by mistake
Put file in SD/notifications/
If it still doesn't appear in the sound chooser (??? ) you'll have to convert it in the format the other sounds are. I think it's ogg. Good luck.
put your mp3 file to /sdcard/notifications --> for notifications
put your mp3 file to /sdcard/ringtones --> for ringtones
You can set is as ringtone in mp3 player...
for the ringtone u can choose from media player, but i cant change the notification, altough the mp3 file was placed in notification directory
*sory 4 bad english
Copy sound:
1. For ringtones to /sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
2. For alarms to /sdcard/media/audio/alarms
3. For notifications to /sdcard/media/audio/notifications
Sound for notification must be in .ogg or .m4a format not in .mp3
I've put my desired mp3 ringtone to /system/media/audio/ringtones
This way it won't get back to a default ringtone when your memory card is detached (at file transfers from PC to phone, or at reboot)
If you want to give an mp3 as notification sound then put it to /system/media/audio/notifications.
BTW you need to reboot after this, and then your mp3's name will apear on the default list at selecting ringtone/notifications, so you just have to select it there.
Hope it helps
