Hi; I've been trying to set up MMS messaging as these instructions, but I can't seem to access the set up
If I go to MMS Composer (Is that the same as 'Messaging'? because I don'#t seem to have 'messaging anywhere); and go to tools, I get Options and then the screen is not really as described above. and if I go to the 'Servers' bit, the gateway is correct but there isn't anywhere to put the Port number.
I'm really very new to this sort of thing, but if anyone can help me I'd be very grateful; Any thoughts on how to set up the MMS?
Btw; I set up the internet access using instructions Smithy posted in July, and that works, so thanks very much indeed.
try doing a search in the forum for the latest MMS Composer

Issue sending and receiving MMS messages

Hey everyone!
Tearing out my hair with this one! No probs with GPRS or browsing the Web, using push email functions etc.
BUT MMS just wont work! Am on O2 and using the following settings found under the MMS Configuration menu:
Server: O2UK
Gateway: 193.113.200.195
Port: 8080
Server Address: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
Connect Via: My Work Network (the default i use for browsing the web, etc)
Sending Size: 100k
Wap Version: 2.0
Have checked with O2 that MMS is enabled on the sim and it is (have checked with them twice now).
When i go to send a MMS messsage, it says sending but then comes back and says one of 2 things, either:
User Barred
Or
Cannot send message will remain in Outbox
GPRS seems to activate when i hit the send button. I have even tried connecting to the web first. any ideas? going mad!
It won't recieve whatsoever it will just have a text message saying "youve been sent a text message log on to o2.co.uk to view".
My wizard is a O2 XDA Mini - S, Rom is an Imate K-Jam ver 2.16.9.1 WWE dated 2/6/06
Hope you can help!
The normal O2 settings have two connections, one for general browsing(My ISP) and one for wap(My Work Network). MMS uses the 2nd.
sorry Kevino, not sure what you mean?
Under settings->Connections->Connections. O2 adds a connection under each of "My ISP" and "My Work Network".
Sorry I do not have the wap connection detail as I deleted it. Try a search for "O2 GPRS settings" and when you find a list you will see what I mean.
These are the only settings i can find, do you mean that MMS should be sent by dialup connection kevino?

I think i may have found the problem guys! I'll keep you updated.....
I kept getting a message saying "Error - User Barred" everytime i was sending MMS. Found a site where a few guys had the same problem and found out the solution.
Basically have to call O2 and ask them to confirm with their Data Services team that MMS is enabled on all their systems as opposed to just the primary system. Replication seems to be an issue they suffer from.
Original article: http://www.esato.com/archive/t.php/t-50035
Will keep you posted they have had to replicate it manually and it may take up to Friday!
Wish me luck
Well I hope that's your problem. But look at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=50477&highlight=o2+gprs+settings
to see what I was trying to explain. Ah just noticed it appears different for payg (you do not say what you have)

T-Mobile GPRS Connection Issues

Hi All,
I dont actually have a XDA I have a iPAQrw6815 smartphone running WM5. But I wondered if anyone has a WM5 XDA connected to the T-Mobile UK data network via GPRS? I've been looking at various websites for the last week, I've spoken to t-mobile and they say the settings are correct but when i try to connect i get the following message:
Dialed: general.t-mobile.uk
"The answering modem has disconnected.
To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap settings."
My current settings are:
connection name: T-mobile UK GPRS
modem: Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access point name: general.t-mobile.uk
username: "user"
password: "one2one" (i've also tried, "wap", "mms" & "pass" - recomendations from other websites)
Proxy Settings: proxy server = 149.254.001.010 Port = 9021
I even tried the "Auto Configurator" that retrieves the settings from the network and that didn't work either!! (Not sure if this app is a iPAQ thing or is standard on WM5 smartphones???)
Any help would be appriciated.
Lexa.

Hi, My vodafone settings look the same except for the WAP/Socks. Are you entering these via the advanced setting under the TCP and server settings? As I do not have any entries against these IP address - I just use the server assigned IP address.

I removed them and soft reset, didn't make any difference.
