Over at Howard Forums we have a fellow with a setting that came on his unit that lets him map his soft keys. The thread is linked below. Can anyone help us get this thing out of his unit so other Wizard owners can enjoy it too?

This is just a registry hack.

Tmobile
Actually the setting we are talking about is coming on TMobile Wizards in the UK. It enables a icon in the Settings area called "Softkeys" that allows people to change their softkeys without a registry editor or making changes to the registry.
That is what we are really looking for. Sort of "native support" of changing the keys as opposed to a clumsy registry hack.
Aegeas
Sorry, I meant it is possible to achieve easily in the registry.
If you follow the brighthand thread, it's also included in the upcoming Tweak2k. But if you find the native app, it'll be useful.

Yeah, I don't find the registry hack clumsy at all. I have reprogrammed my buttons several times, and its really easy.
Ok.
Perhaps clumsy was too blunt. How about uncivilized

Hi,
Does anyone know if it is possible to hide Bluetooth, WLAN and possibly Screen Orientation button on the bottom right of the Today Screen? I'm hoping it might be possible to edit a registry key to hide these buttons. I've included a snapshot of the screen showing the buttons for clarity.
Thanks for any assistance,
Dav

Ok I have a cunning plan....
I notice that the tweaks2k2 software allows you to hide the Orientation Icon, which works nicely. Now, if I take a snapshot or backup the registry before and after and then compare them, I should be able to see what was changed by tweaks and then add that registry change to my CAB file. Guess what i need now is an app which either backs up or takes a snapshot of a mobile registry... any recommendatiosn most welcome!
Thanks,
Dav
Ok, forget that plan, Google turned up a nice list on this website, didnt realise a lot of this stuff was nicely documented here. Excellent. Simply -
HKLM\Services\ScreenRotate\ShowIcon
ShowIcon = 0; to hide it.
Cheers,
Dav
Yesterday I was browsing the Wizard area of the XDA FTP server and I bumped into a file called SplashscreenStuff.zip
So I downloaded it, read the ReadMe file and thought, this looks kinda easy, let's see if it's possible to change my SplashScreen (on a 2.18 Qtek Rom).
So I opened Photoshop looked at some existing splashscreen's and adjusted one to make it "my own".
The funny thing is, this SplashScreen can be useful if your device gets stolen (it is shown about 20 seconds on start-up on my device).
Take a look at it and if someone is interested in the Photoshop file, to adjust it to make it yours, feel free to leave a message here and I will make sure you get all the files you need.

Anti theft tattoo ?
I would really like to know if this can really work as a anti-theft strategy. At worst, the "finder" of the device can flash a new ROM, can't he? Is there any really anti-theft strategy?
the picture is not displayed!!! why??
How can I make my own splashscreen?
try this thread
The tools are old, and they have been ported to ROM-kitchens also, but they do work.
Hey,
I am wondering if it is possible to create Today screen plug in that displays how many calls have been missed and if less then a defined number (say 5) displays the callers names/number if known? Has something like already been done? If not, how hard would it be to implement this? Any clues to help me to start this project?
Thanks
Check if phoneAlarm with an appropriate skin suits your needs.
Absolutely, PhoneAlarm is my recommendation.
If you're asking if it's technically possible, of course!

[unfortunately the bit you want, last caller info, is obscurred because it was my Mistress or somesuch]
From a technical point of view, this is very easy to do on WM5 using the state and notification broker.
DKToday might also be helpful and is free.

Any idea which skin I should use to get the functionality I need? MOst of the skins just show indicator or number of missed calls. I want to see whose calls I have missed from the Today screen.
PhoneAlarm skins can be built to show this info as standard (most skins have this feature hidden until "maximsed". But there's nothing to stop you doing it by standard)

hi,
i have seen a lot of threads and posts about this topic, but as i have never found a solution to toggle all sound profiles from COMMAND LINE by one single tool, i think it is time to bring this up again.
however, i have been using two different tools for this in the past (one for toggling on / vibrate, the other one for toggling on / off).
maybe somebody out there managed to find a solution for this.
thanks
maybe you wanna test setvolume by MarcLandis. take the link in my signature.
try this tool.. its toggle sound in loop mute/normal/vibrate
i seek for today plugin to replace HTC Home profil switcher on my today screen

@MasterOfDesasters
thanx. i have seen this thread but by reading the posts i was thinking that this tool can only adjust the volume-levels and not cycling through the three profiles
@srbwap
cool. that tool does exactly what i need. and it is a very small app, too.
again, thanks to both of you.
srbwap, thanks for sharing this, it works great. Do you know who the developer is?
if you edit the exe file you'll see that the original file is bssound.exe and is copyrighted by "henry"
look here
Ah, alright, thanks!
Does anyone know where I can found a cab file for the grey dialer options disabler in the screens below ? Searched the forum, but can't find it anywhere.
