I bought a USB Bluetooth adapter and tried to sync my Compact with ActiveSync but without any success,
the software that i got with it is BlueSoleil.
I am able to send files to my PC but not sync.
Do I need any software to the Compact ?
Do I need to open any ports? How to ?

Hi All,
Before running the upgraded ROM, to enable ActiveSync via Bluetooth, I had to download and install a Bluetooth file from a site I can't remember now. After the upgrade I can't use ActiveSync via Bluetooth and am not sure whether I need to reinstall the same Bluetooth stuff as before as I thought the ROM had Bluetooth fixes in it for ActiveSync etc.
Has anybody else been able to connect via Bluetooth after the upgrade with no other files being installed ?

yes i use activesync via bluetooth at work and home using the new rom and installing no other software.
It was a pain getting it to work, and what i did in the end was delete all parterships in activesync and start again from stratch, that worked for me.
This is what i did:
I couldnt get my XDA2 to access the net via BT active synch until i went into start / settings / system / bluetooth settings / bluetooth active synch setup.
It then asks you to bond the XDA2 with your pc ( if its already bonded, delete it ) once done, you then click yes to let the XDA2 use the pc's serial port, do the same on the pc, and connect via BT as normal.
Works great !
My PC reboots every time when I synchronize my Qtek 9100 via ActiveSync with my PC. I tried ActiveSync 4.0 and 4.1 but these actions did not help me.
If possible, try with a bluetooth or iR synch, it may help
I had the same problem and updating my motherboard drivers (including the USB) did the trick (BTW motherboard was an Nforce2)

I flashed my 8525 with the dopod wm6 rom and i was able to sync my ppc but somehow now im unable to sync with my win xp PC. Already tried on 3 different computers with at least 4 different USB cables, all of them with a fresh install of active sync 4.5 and they all detect my ppc as HTC USB Sync under Windows CE USB Devices at the Device Manager but active sync doesn't connect. USB to PC connectivity is unmarked, ActiveSync in ppc is set at Syncronize using " `usb " .
Im not sure if the " ` " has to be there or not but im guessing thats one of the problems with the configuration, tried going to the registry and edit it to just USB but then it doesn't show the USB option in the ppc.
The that i used was the official "838Pro_HK_ENG_WM6_Upgrade_20070712".

things i've done trying :
reinstall my pc and using new version of active sync
using bluetooth for sync
using iRda dor sync (this can sync)
But i want to upgrade or doing some modification on my lovely himalaya.
