hi everyone...
i have an i-mate branded himalaya device...went dead suddenley!!!
battery is not charging and all i get is a red light when i connect the device to the charger..
i tried to use another battery, but it's no use and my battery is working fine with another himalaya :roll:
that was 3 days ago...
i left the device because i had something to do when i came back, i turned it on........ :idea: and it worked and hard reseted..
i tried to do a soft reset after a while :?: it went dead again !!!!!
what's happenning here?
i am using the last Offical i-mate ROM...(Windows Mobile 2003)

I have the same problem with my XDA II as well.
So, how do you fix that finally ??

If I was you, then I shall try to flash the device again with the same or newer version of the ROM. If this is not working then I will call the manufacturer.

i had the same problem this weekend.
on friday my MDA II just died in a phonecall. And it wont nether charge or start.
And i rembered a couple of days before my MDA just claimed about weak backup battery during charging.
But after i fully charged the akku in the 2nd slot of the docking station.
My device started and after that the akku also charges in the MDA.
and evrything is normal again. Iill keep an eye on this.

I have the same thing, have no idea what to do!
First time it happened i exchanged my device, but the problem was still there and i thought the battery were dead. i bought the new one- and it work!!! But now it happened again!!

Hi,
I have an unlocked wizard (MDA Vario) which worked perfectly for several weeks.
It was switched off, I thought because of an empty battery. I attempted to restart 3 times but it hanged during bootscreen ...
But the big problem is that nothing happens when I connect it to my pc to recharge, it doesn't even seem to charge when I connect it to the adaptor to recharge
So if it's a hardware failure, I cannot return it under warranty because in this situation I cannot relock it .
Can anybody help me out pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaase ?

Im having the same problem... alomost.
My bettery died and then it wouldnt start or charge. I was told to take the battery out and grab an old charger and expose the wires and directly apply the wires to the battery. It worked but my 9100 died again beofer it could fully boot and it still wont charge. I have tried the wire to battery charging method again and it doesnt seem to work anymore.
You may want to give it a try??
Out of curiosity, what ROM do you have installed?

I wish I could be of any help, but.......... I have the very same problem for 3 weeks now and i still haven't been able to resolve it
Perhaps you should explain a little more..... how it happened, any other symptoms or so.......... And hope that gurus will help us

It's the short form of "Akkumulator" (technical term)."
This is it, right? I understand it as the backup battery, am I correct?

hi,
with akku i ment the normal rechargeble battery (PH17B).
i dont ment the bakup battery (ML2016) in the MDA.

I had that problem too.
First of all, put the ppc in its craddle and wait let say one hour, if nothing changes then it's just that your battery is dead. If you have a spare one, use it, otherwise you have to buy a new one.

First of all: Sorry for my bad english or mistakes... I'm a german and not perfect yet!
I bought a Vodafone VPA Compact II last month and i'm very happy with it!
Last tuesday, i made some changes on the motherboard of my desktop pc and today i plugged in the usb cable into my front-usb-port... The PPC crashed!
I think, i made a mistake while connecting the front-usb with the mainboard...
When i connect my phone with the normal charging-cable, its upper right LED begins to blink orange! (Before, the led was constantly turned on) Also, the battery life is going down from minute to minute!
Can anybody tell me, what happend to my battery? could it be, that the battery is dead?
Please help me! It's very important!

Try the real charger and see how you make out.
I tried it, and got the same problem. When I woke up this morning, the Phone was completely turned off... I really think, that the battery is dead...

The institute, where my dad is working, is a partner of vodafone, so my dad can get a new one for me =) in 48 hours, my "old" VPA is at vodafone again and the new one is in my hands

my spv m600 was working fine till yesterday when i when it then played a tune and rebooted i look at it thinkin it was an sms and though nowt of it as it was showing the orange screen. now when i got home it was turned off and would not turn on i plugged the charger in just incase it was dead no orange light nothing so i left the battry out all nite and this morning it turned on YAY got the the loading windows mobile it died again and now it wont turn on any help would be great

I've got some problems with my Wizard, it started when i was on Vacation for 3 Weeks, and i forgot my Wizard plugged in to the PC over the USB Cable, with PC turned off.
After i came back, i found out that my Wizards Battery was not working anymore, found a thread somewhere where someone said that Li-on Batterys can be drained so much that they can't be charged anymore, so i bought a new Battery, and everything was ok for some days, but now, my Wizard won't turn on anymore now...
My Brother got an HTC Artemis, which has the same batterys as my Wizard, and if i plug that one in, the Wizard still boots like normal...
I suppose its an Hardware Problem... someone had the same problem as me?

nvm, i used the Guide found if you use Search for "Dead Battery HTC Wizard" and got my Battery working again!
