ANY WORD FROM T-MOBILE ON 2003 FINAL RELEASE???

Any word from T-Mobile USA on 2003 final release??
...and why does T-mobile Germany offer more features in their pocketpc??
anyway we can move those to a usa version?

Last week, T-Mobile offered me, to make a (so called) upgrade, which means to extend the contract for further 24 month and to get a new device/mobile phone (for low cost). Starting from October T-Mobile offers the old 64MB-MDA with Windows Mobile 2003 in German. The new MDAII will be available at the end of 2003, they said. So I hope the new software (WM2003_DE) will soon be available on T-Mobile's Website (http://t-mobile.de/mda).

Its realy sad that t-mobile is not activly promoting the xda/mda here in usa. infact... most store workers know very little about it here.
i noticed o2.uk even advertise it on tv!
here... even the 24 hours support staff dont know much, they just replace with new unit everytime a software problem arouse.
believe it or not, this is my FIFTH ppc replacement!!
altho i HAVE figured out how to fix the dead media player problem,
they have not! but i still send it back every few months... for a 'scratchless' unit
if they are too dumb to know their product, i dont think there is anythin wrong with using their warranty to my advantage.

How do you send it back? You call tech support? Give us a play by play, mine has some scratches on it too....

here is what happened.
first for real, but then i abused their ignorance!
my media player stoped working. when i launch it. it closes immediatly!
i called their tech support... they had me reset and try stuff, but nothin worked. so, naturaly, they'll say, we'll send a replacement.
but their replacement developed the same problem, and they
couldnt fix it. not over the phone anyway...
well after 3 replacements... i found out that it was fonix voice dial, and/or viavoice doin it, they were assigning functions to 4 keys, when xda only have 2 usable (calendar and contacts)
so.. media gets lost and closes.
you have to a registry editor to remove the 2 extra key assignment and that will fix it..
BUT! to get to the point... call and tell them u have this problem
and they wont be able to fix it. they'll just replace it!
make sure u reinstall the old 2002 that came with it.
not that they dont know that u changed it! every time u hard reset the device, it sends an SMS "[email protected],version #, date/time"

Does it really do that? Heck just take the SIM out when you do a hard reset.

I updated my unit to a ROM kitchen version and frankly..
I helped somethings but I still have problems.
Im really waiting on the XDA II.
I hope we see it soon in the US.
Im on my 5th unit also..
But Im actually having problems.
I thought it was T-mobile or something but I got a T610 and I have two sims.
When I have problems calling out (voice or data) I immediately try with my T610. (guess what... no problems)
Im not sure why Im having such bad luck with the units..
maybe its the power supply..
they said they would send another..

a few problems with my atom.

just bought one from autralia im in the uk, im having trouble as it doesnt always have service, im with t-mobile. also i have a squeal noise when im connected to a phone call.
any help on pls?

noise during phone call - it's screen defect. change the screen.

I don't know. I think only one way - send device to HK - to replace screen...

T-mobile problem!
I am using atom in UK too. T-mobile have given me many problems with my atom. I solve all my problems after giving up on T-mobile. Try to use sim card from other S.P. Anyway, Vodafone's pay as u talk is free on internet, worth a try. Good luck.

not a bad idea but im on a very good contract with t-mobile that i doubt anyone can beat. £26.50 a month £180 of credit with 20p a min calls and 10p texts anytime.

hey dude I am quite confused with the solns. suggested to you. If you have problems with the audio, then what is it to do with the screen? And y would u change ur service provider if ur SIM works alright on other phones. Hard-reset ur device and cancel the auto configurator. No big deal. Even I bought from India and am using on O2 UK. just be in touch.. will keep u updated as I was facing similar problems. By the way did u install the latest rom availabe at www.seeo2.com U need to register(free)...

MDA gave out on me, Tmobile sending new handset.

Think I'm getting a dash, wing, or another mda?
My mda randomly powers off and freezes on occasion when sliding the keyboard out. in some cases it just randomly crashes, and occurs on multiple roms. So I called, and they were happy to ship me a new handset.
The lady didn't say, however, which I'd be getting. I did ask if they still had mda's, and she answered yes (tho she noted retail stores no longer carried them), however I didn't get a chance to ask her if there was a way to get a wing(although probably unscrupulous).
Anyways, when I get the new mda, I might just put it in the retail box with all the accessories from the old one and just sell it on ebay and buy a wing. After spending an hour with one, they just seem to be a better built machine.

What's a wing? Who makes it?

oh i tried that.. tmobile wont replace an mda with a wing.. they're just going to send u another mda.. so did u get ur mda??
hey is it just me or do the head sets for the MDA suck?? cause ive been thru 3 of them already..

Connectivity issues

i have an O2 branded XDA mini S i'm having serious problems getting my computer to recognize the phone. i have tried every step in the trouble shooter....to no avail. it is t-mobile euro so i dont know if that makes a difference. i am absolutely desperate if someone wants to add me to their msn and do a remote assistance that would be even more cool

BUMP TTT please help i cant get it to active sync of anything its rather frustrating.........its like buying a Ferrari and not getting the motor to go with it .

unlocked g1 sends automatic sms ?????

Hi, I bought a g1 from us, unlocked it with official t-mobile unlockcode and now i running fine with it in romania on orange network.
just one thing.
I always get sms notifications, that a sms is not able to be delivered?
sometimes 10times an hour. i put a vodafone card in it and also there i get notifactions that my sms is not able to deliver.
So whats that, does anyone know if g1 like to notificate some service automaticaly. I heared its a bug and it tries to reach t-mobile?
Any help how to stop this.

It's not a bug. It's a function of MyFaves. If you don't like it then use a non USDM build of Android on your G1. This has been discussed ad nauseum. Please search.

Yes, in the meanwhile i was reading about this MYFAV Feature. Great Feature, that cost many people a lot of money. I personaly think its amazing that not more people talk about and complain. Think about, you buy a phone in us, go holiday and pay alot if you dont know. or you buy a mobile from us, legal and also with legal unlock key and pay a lot for stupid sms.
So what i read about its the best to unlock the us iphone and install a Europe RC9 ... is that right?
