After pushing the green phone button, the phone skin is display and i can use the numeric keys to open a phone number. For each numeric key activity the possibilities are listed, so in the case of similar number, you must press the numeric keys til the end to get the correct phone number. How can i use the alphanumeric characters to choosen the phone number? It is easier to do this way. Thanks, Bernd

Hi guys
I switched to the MDA VARIO and I am missing one fiture I used in the COMPACT and now I cannot find anymore in the VARIO:
In the telephone skin, when I use the "smart dial" and I select a contact from the list, when I push the center button now it makes immediately the call while with the COMPACT it would open the page of the contact with all hi telephone numbers, addres, email and so on....
I found that a so useful and speedy way to lok for a contact with ONE hand...now how can I do?
Another thing: I cannot protect my EXCEL sheets with passwords ANYMORE, they had removed this feature? I wonder why!!!!!!
The last thing: How can I make this letters "é è à ù" with the hardware keyboard? In the manual there in nothing about it....
Thanks a lot
Peppepep
Only the first problem: use left - right buttons to browse contact positions (m - mobile, w - work etc.)
Yes, I know that I can select "m"or "o"... with left or right button, but what if I want to see an address or the email? I have to use two hands?
When you select a contact by smartdailing just hold your stylus on the screen until a menu pops up.
In this menu you can see all the phonenumbers from the selected contact but you can select the top line (contact name) and there is all the other info...

Click to collapse
is rather complex
1. type the basic letter you want (e.g. e)
2. if you want è, à, ù, ì, ò, you'd press on the symbol key and then on Space
3. if you want é, á, ú, í, ó, ê, â, û, î, ô, ë, ä, ü, ï, ö you'd press twice on the symbol key (=lock it) and then press space until you've got the symbol you need

I'm thinking on buying this lovely pda, but i cant find any info if it has a omnia-like landscape keyboard, it's really usefull if u have a screen that big,
does anyone have any info on this?
I am also interested in this- I wonder how spb full screen keyboard would look on this.....
that's the point, i'd love to buy such a device.
Rather take an hd than the touch pro.
but writing an email (preferable in landscape) is necessary.
Anyone experience with writing on an touch diamond and qwerty in landscape? duno whether if is possible at all!
regards
irm
scroll down first page is a pic of the landscape keyboard...
looks good enough for me

Yes it looks good but it's only showed in browser in landscape mode. The question is if you can write mails or sms in landscape, too.
Tobi
n1!
that keyboard is not opera-related, that's the device keyboard!
Sorry,
....but
"E-mails and SMS can only write in portrait mode, although the keyboard in landscape would be much larger. Das iPhone hat dasselbe Problem, nur beim Samsung i900 Omnia tritt es nicht auf . The iPhone has the same problem, only when Samsung i900 Omnia is not on it. "
That will be fixed in a couple of seconds when the phone comes in xda-developer hands! I hope!
The omnia can write emails/sms in landscape mode so I don't see why the touch HD wouldn't be able to do it, either out of the box or with a small mod from these great forums!
Just use the Tool GSen and you will be able to write mail and SMS in landscape mode.
Hi
Is it possible to make longpressing a character on the keyboard use a character of my choice? rather than bringing up a menu where I have to click on the screen to choose character?
Example:
I want to use the character Å (A with a ring over it, its in the norwegian alphabet)
I longpress A, and that gives me a menu on the screen with Â, Ã, Ä and Å, and I have to click one of those!
Instead I want to set my own characters like this:
Longpress A = Å (A-ring)
Longpress E = Æ (AE)
Longpress O = Ø (O-line)
I dont know if this exists or even if it is possible, but it would be a great timesaver!
This would indeed be very useful. Request seconded.
Third
Just as a tip for my fellow norwegians, since aa (a with ring above) is the key that is most to use, I usually just copy that letter and just paste it when I need it later, and long press o to got oe and then press enter, and for ae I just long press a and use the scroll wheel to move one field down and then press enter.
Not sure if this works for you, but I manage just fine with this approach. The only thing that annoys me is the lack of support for foreign keys in the android browser.
I bought a Droid PRO with QWERTZ keyboard (I see that after buy it ) and I'm trying to change the "Y" for the "Z". Not the physical keys, it's obvious
Is there any way to push the "Y" and write a "Z"?
Well... I've modified the keylayout file with Root Explorer and I change the 21 key (z) for the 44 key and now when I press the physical "z" it types the "y".
I have to press "Alt+y" if I want to type the number 6 and "Alt+z" if I want to type the "_". That's the only problem...
Hello, how can i change the right side Button from calendar to another shortcut?
