I am missing A2DP Support on my MDA Pro. It looks like this is a Microsoft issue. They still living behind the moon.
I think MS will bring an Update for this Issue. But does anyone know, how the progres is and how this Update will be delivered? Can we just download it from MS or do we have to wait for an updated ROM from out Network-Cariers?
I like to by a BT Stereo Headset :`)
On BlueAngel I get A2DP work with a BT Update
No idears?
for me the ideal will be to use the Nokia HS-12W con Universal. and i'm hoping that will be solved soon (HS-12W is not released either)
Wizard is suppose to have bluetooth v2 which should include the a2dp
ms dident invent bluetooth and they have never been big on taking the tech of others to the max
other pda's which have stereo sound over bluetooth dont use ms's bluetooth stack to get it
Ok, then we have to try getting a widcomm stack on the universal?
well recall somebody talking about getting the newly release vidcomm stack for 2005 on their himalaya with 2005 but it dident work
not sure if it's more likely to work on a universal which have the final 2005 and not a beta like himalaya
pretty sure it was in the 2005 forum i saw it

You should be able to upgrade your BT stack to get A2DP. Read this:

Let us know if it works and what headset you are using!
No, does not work. This BT Update distroyes Audio Driver ... and no efect on my BT. Have to do a hard Reset.

Strange I thought the MDA has the same BT stack from Broadcom as my XDAIIi, I did run the update described in the link above and got the A2DP - The only difference after the install is the extra profile for High Quality Audio on my XDAIIi.
My BT stack version is and still is 1.0.0 Build 3900 from Broadcom.
I did immediate soft reset after the install and then checked the profiles...
I hope you find solution soon! Check out the other BT software updates on the ftp site...
Good Luck!
Bluetooth stereo is not worth the fuss.

Yes, but Broadcom aquired Widdcom, so now they also have bluetooth.
I resume this thread to ask if anybody thought to test BCM1000-WCE
Bluetooth® Communications Software for Windows® Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC and Pocket PC Phone Edition.
It looks great and full of functionality. But where is it possible to dowload it? Is this the same of the one on ftp site, BroadcomCorp_BT1.0.0.3900.cab ? Did anyone try BroadcomCorp_BT1.0.0.3900.cab on S100? Does it support the Audio High Quality (A2DP) profile?

doesn't works
tried but when i try to activate BT i get always errors on BT devices not found
Thx PapaDocta for your testing...it's really a shame that we have to work around this way to find a decent BT Stack to replace that poor one by MS!

i tried this stack - it's don't work.
I think it because broadcom limits to use they stack only for certain devices which has license to use they stack.
in broadcom registry hive i found "license" key. if somebody find proper license key for i-mate bt chip - i think that broadcom stack will work on magician.

We Crino!
...the problem is right that: Bluesoleil stack doesn't have handsfree profile...is it right?
I installed the Toshiba bluetooth stack on my I-Mate Jam and it ROCKS - it includes ALL the functionality/profiles missing in the MS stack!
...BUT...
It is unstable as hell (I have experienced all sort of "cosmetic" issues) and I am fairly sure this is due to the fact that both MS and Toshiba stacks try to use the same bluetooth hardware SIMULTANEOUSLY.
...SO...
has anyone figured how deinstall/reinstall the microsoft bluetooth stack on a Magician (I-Mate Jam, Qtek S-100, MDA Compact, XDA Mini)?

So, what "ROCKS" about it?
Always do full backup b4 installing sware.
it does what the MS BT stack does (serial port, headset, activesync), but also adds other profiles (pan, dun, obex, ftp, chat + others from memory)
i.e send files/chat with other mobile phone users, access bt pan, etc... though i am only interested in pan, chat and obex
when i fisrt played with it, i immediately saw why everyone whinges with the bt stack...
it's excellent and stable for me, didn't expierence any bugs...
dutty:
Did you get pan working ?
If so can you please let me know how?
Thanks,
Martin
I'm kinda interested ...
Can u please post a copy of that Toshiba Bluetooth stack u're using so we can all have a chance to have a look at it and maybe modify it to work on our phones
uh, just started the service, restarted the device and connected to it!
BUT, i also installed the toshiba BT stack on my workstation
I'm kinda interested ...
Can u please post a copy of that Toshiba Bluetooth stack u're using so we can all have a chance to have a look at it and maybe modify it to work on our phones
And just more thing ... How did u manage to get that bluetooth stack to run on xda devices since it keeps checking for external SD bluetooth cards and was not designed for internal bluetooth chips ?
Look in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=15382&highlight=
Thanks for the link ....... BUT !!
I was able to download the Toshiba BT Stack v5.01 but it won't seem to work on my xda !! Everytime I tap on Bluetooth Setting (from toshiba) It says the following ' An error occurred with the Bluetooth Card. Confirm that the card is working properly.
Both my MS Stack and Widcomm Stacks are disabled and don't conflict with this new Toshiba Stack.
I was wondering how the thread owner got this BT stack running on his xda ?
It works on my XDA Mini just fine. The only problem I'm having is that it won't stay resident when you power off the device.

Sorry, another question.
In the event of a hard reset will my O2 XDA II restore the MS stack with whatever registry settings that were deleted in the process of installating the Toshiba bt stack? Will the Toshiba bt stack be totally removed in the evnet of a hard reset?
Thanks again
yes sir
Found 2 problems.
Cannot connect when call ring.. connect then call is fine.
Cannot Accept call with button on headset.
Any more Problems ???
Please post your problems ..
Hi
i´ve tested the toshiba bt software on my MDA-Compact but haven´t got very good results. First, after installation, it seems to work good with my Royaltek RBT 3000 (GPS), but after i´ve switched off the device while an active bt connection was established with my gps software, the bt-stack broks down and the whole systems seems to be unstable. Even after a softreset the bt-software from toshiba says that they didnt recognize any bt hardware.
Now i am trying to deinstall the bt-soft and can recommend everybody who wants to test to make an backup before ;-)
I think that the software from toshiba could work, when the ms-bt-stack would be completly changed with the toshiba-stack, but doesnt work without problems when both bt-stacks are on the system.

is there any software can figure this problem out?
you could try with this tool, they say it works on the magician, so i think it will probably also work on the wizard

It does not work. Most of us installed it when if first came out and found that it does nothing in terms of a2dp profile for the wizards. Do a search and you will see.
Hi All. i've got a qtek 9000 and i can't use my bt headphones.
I bought this one with the ipaq and than i succed using it also with my qtek 9090
right now i can't with the new 9000 and i have no idea how to do it
please can someone help me?
Please be more specific as to where the problem is. You say you got it working on the 9090 but not on the 9000. Exactly what part of the pairing process does the difference come out?
Ops, i miss it!
I installed on the 9090 an audio driver that add a new voice in the bt connection manager.
The high quality stereo headphones. This driver couldn't be installed on the new wm5 because was designed for pocket pc 2003
so rightnow i can pair the device but no service is offered when i try to discover device services.
So even if i have paired the device i can't use it because no service is found.
i hope i've explained the problem

You mean it cannot be paired without running a particular software? Yikes... So when you put the Bluetooth headset to discoverable mode, then try detecting it from the Universal, it sees it but there are just no services available, am I right?
So it seems that the one at fault is the Bluetooth stack installed in the Universal... In that case, I cannot help you... SOrry
The Universal does not support A2DP or what HP calls High Quality Stereo, as such it does not support your headphones. A2DP is suppose to be part of what is included in the MSFP update but i-mate has chosen not to include it. Until someone releases A2DP support your headphones will not work. Now if you happen to read German I understand their is a German ROM that supports this feature.
Otherwise it just a question of waiting till someone releases this update, if they do.
i think that is the stack but the question is:
the 9090 doesn't support the high quality too but installing the driver things changes so i won't belive that thare isn't a driver for the 9000
i tried to find something from Widcom (i hope is the right way to write!) nut i dind't find anythink
so i hope that someone can help me because i've payed 120€ the headset and i will love to continue using it!
Hey all,
I'm trying to pair a PPC with SonyEricsson's bluetooth watch MBW-150 to use moneytoo's brilliant SmartWatchM. This worked fine with my old PPC running the Microsoft bluetooth stack. My new PPC (LG KS20) uses the Widcomm/Broadcom stack, believed to be cleverer than the MS stack.
Here's the problem:
The PPC will not pair. The watch does not send out information according to the BT Service Discovery Protocol (SDP), because it was never meant to be paired with anything else than SE phones. The Microsoft stack didn't care and paired nonetheless. The Widcomm/Broadcom stack, however, will pair with BT devices only if it finds a supported profile. The watch uses the Serial Port Profile (SPP), but it doesn't say so, not sending any SDP information to the PPC. The PPC would support SPP of course, but doesn't pair as it has no way of knowing that the watch supports this profile.
In the end, when I try to pair, the PPC will see the watch but doesn't know what to do with it, and will not pair.
Is there any way of pairing (using a Widcomm/Broadcom stack) without SDP information? Can I enforce pairing with the watch? (I can easily insert serial port settings in the reg manually.)
Or can I somehow change my BT stack? I've read that the only way to do that would mean changing the ROM ... :-(
Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks,
N.
I'm using 32feet.NET library that supports only MS BT Stack. Fortunately I have just found this lib http://franson.com/bluetools/ that seems to support Widcomm Stack. I will try it soon.
EDIT:
What BT stack is on it? Is it Broadcom? Widcomm on Motorola Q9 is ok and lets you to pair device without any service but Broadcom on a one HP iPAQ I have tested doesnt.
EDIT2:
Not a good news. Franson Bluetools doesnt work on smartphones. I dont know much about this stuff but from what I have read it seems like pairing/bonding request is possible only in MS BT stack (via some non official function) and it's disabled in other BT stacks because of security issues.
Thanks for chiming in, moneytoo!

This may be a noob question but: How do I tell whether it's Broadcom or Widcomm? Is there still a difference since Broadcom bought Widcomm?
Anyway, BT manager will not pair ("no supported protocol found").

I'm afraid that's true. I haven't found anything so far that would point me to a workaround, backdoor or anything - and as my KS20 is a company phone I can hardly change the ROM
Let's hope someone comes up with an idea!
