Just to let you guys know. The K-JAM is in and I have mine! The Inkino guys on Tottenham Court Road, Central London, were once again first off the block. I had left a message with them to contact me as soon as they came in. True to their word they rung me even before they had booked in the delivery. One frantic cab-ride later I was there and playing with my K-JAM. Too early to give feedback but it is good and met my raised expectations. Will keep you posted if I hit any brick walls. Would appreciate any postings of findings by others.
had mine since sat. still playing with it tho
Of course you gotta tell us how much you paid! Also, contract or no contract?

Don't bother if it's 380 pounds from those German jokers?
Amazon has it for 389 pounds, free delivery, and your buying from a first class vendor which will let you return it etc. all that bull**** to save 9pounds?

Sharrap!!
It's 380 Pounds with a 1Gb SD Card. Otherwise, it's £324 for the Compact alone.
The German version comes with a 2 year warranty compare with the 1 year Imate warranty.
Also, the MDA Compact doesn't have the sound quality issues the Jam has. You really ought to make sure you know what you're talking about before you call the German people "jokers".
What do you work for them?
Firstly, the sound issue will be fixed in the next rom update, so WHO CARES?
Secondly, wouldn't you rather deal with pleasant old Amazon than a bucket shop who promises you the world and then sends someone to your door to collect cash because they cannot even accept credit cards?
Lastly, who on earth gives two sh*ts about a two year guarantee? After one year, you chuck the phone, it's obsolete, and you get an upgrade?
Would really be happy with an guarantee on an xda 1 today??????
Come on...

You really need to keep the swearing out.
Regarding the sound, it's not only a Rom issue. If you knew what you were talking about youu'd know that in some cases, it's a hardware issue and not a ROM issue. That's why many people are on their second and third Jams from Expansys after returns.
I care and many others do.
Not everybody would rahter dea with your "plesant old Amazon" some people prefer to buy at a better price.
The warranty does matter. Maybe you will throw your Jam away in a year but most of us won't.
Your points really make no sesne at all. Would people really throw their PDA away after a year? People "don't care" for an extra year's warranty? I don't think that even YOU agree with them!!
I have bought my MDA Compact from MobileJoker.de (i'm french), and i'm very satisfacted ! The shop was very professionnal, and respond quickly to emails...
My MDA was "bought" on a friday night, and the next thursday, i've received it via UPS.
All for 472 euros including shipment in paying at delivery.
Thanks MobileJoker !
is there an english version of this website, i don't speak german and i have no idea what it's saying. I clicked on the jam and it took me to a page and when it came to payment details etc. i couldn't understand a word. any help would be appreciated. cheers
I also had a good experience with MobileJoker and no complaints.

Email them if you need more help.
if i can help you with german go ahead.
besides that i also ordered from mobilejoker.de but with plan for 93EUR.

i think c.o.d is a very good and save method to pay for goods.
we in germany also often uses automatic debit transfer.
and i understand that island monkeys didn't know value of a guarantee.

Please explain the logic of the statement above.
You are not making any sense at all.
You're telling us that it's stupid to go for a lower price, longer gurantee and better device (better ROM and no hardware or software sound issue).
It seems that you don't know much about life outside the UK. There is a lot more to the world than the UK. COD is common in Germany, It makes sense not to part with your money until you have your purchase Do you intend to argue with that too?
2-year warranties are common in Europe unlike the UK. Mobilejoker are "safe and reputable". Just because you haven't heard of them-you that doesn't know much of life outside the UK-doesn't mean that there are not. There is a lot more to the world than you think. Is it not "safer" to hold your money until you hold your PDA????????
I think it's time for you to admit that you're wrong.

Their price is excellent - if I buy one, will it be in English or German though? In other words, what am I NOT getting by buying from mobilejoker instead? English manuals I can live without - I can download those - but is the handeld, german?
i think it is in german, but it is easy to put a english firmware on it.
but i don't know, maybe they ship international the english version.
does any1 know if the audio problem with the imate models has been fixed?
what is the problem anyway, just in case i get the phone and not realize that it is faulty and assume that that's how it is.....cheers

Only thing amazon do better is delivery time, where they excel. Mine just arrived today from mobilejoker - 1 week delivery via UPS from germany. Exactly as stated on the UPS site.
TOO expensive from amazon though, and up until about a week ago, they didn't have stock.

Hey All,
Just an update to let you know that the HTC Advantage X7500 is in stock at Inkino Ltd at 243 Tottenham Court Road www.inkino.co.uk. They sold two whilst I was still there drooling. Also picked up a cool car mount by Herbert Richter. They also had the 4in1 Cable (VGA and TV out and USB host etc) and a spare battery. This truly is the most impressive stockist of HTC stuff that I have come across and the guys know their stuff. I won't mention prices as I cut a wicked deal with the elderly gentleman. I cannot guess how long stocks will last as I overheard Inkino staff mentioning that they have customers who paid up months ago and a lot are shipping abroad.
Hang loose!
^Please tell us about the build quality of HTC X7500?
tanX for your info
how much is the prise in these shops?
please say it in $
in that site i write it was 1100$ !!!!
The build quality is very good and feels like a nice pice of kit. The keyboard attaches by strong magnets and it also doubles up as a lid/screen protector. There is a clear area that lets you see the screen for status icons for connectivity and calls etc. Trying out osVGA a the moment. Nice. Although I would fully expect some incompatibilities. There is a gyrothingi feature in this unit meaning that when this is enabled you can scroll the web page, say, by tilting the unit. With practice this works quite well. Next test is to see how the navigation and phone performs and maybe try out the HSDPA connectivity. Will report back. I promised that I would go back to Inkino to give them feedback, although I have a feeling I will pick up tips from the Dutch sounding Russian there.
Hang Tough!
^nice to hear that I will be having my X7500 next week....
BTW in middle east it will be available with the price tag of $1,340.

it is very possible different country will have different price, and $1100 in UK is almost the cheapest you can get, you will be able to get it at $1400 too in some store.
I agree with wu5262

I hope get it 1100$
Hello,
ebay has quite a few Ameo's for sale. I picked one up for £440... however, you need to have a T-Mobile contract, or be willing to sign-up for one, so it is a bit limiting. I pay £25/month, with WebnWalk, which I think is good value.
I paid 400 euros with a 2 year contract with web 'n walk for €35/month. I was already a customer with T-Mobile.
I must give a unit with free sim unlocket

Although once the misses finds out i'm done for!!
Yes me too. Got mine from devicewire (still have about 60 in stock if anyone wants one), but then due to a misunderstanding with Clove found out that they are also sending me one out and have already charged my card! Not sure if its coming tomorrow as well, if not I'm hoping I can cancel. I'm not even sure I can afford to go home and be killed by my missus. Still, what she doesnt know wont hurt her. Just need to sell my eee pc and HTC S730 that I bought last week now.
So Clove actually have stock now? They haven't updated their website.
Time to dig out the credit card - I'm also gonna get in trouble for this with the wife...

Yeah they have stock although not sure if its for people who have already pre-ordered. Devicewire.com do have 60 free stock (available to everyone). Luckily as I work in mobile technology I can claim that my many devices are 'from work'.
I also have two on order, one from clove and one from expansys-usa. I think the clove will get here first and then I can cancel the one from expansys. This will be the second from expansys that I have canceled.
Managed to cancle my Clove one although wish that had come first as it was cheaper.
....Just got a call from reception - theres a box waiting for me! Yipee! Only a year of waiting.. Thats my night sorted...no doubt speak to you lot later!:
Mines turned up as well, except i'm in London, and its at home!!
Misses threw a double wobble as usual, good job I not there really!!
She'll have got over it by tonight.
HTC Shift in a London Store (INKINO again!!!)
Just a quick heads-up. Inkino have their stock in and also have one HTC Shift out on demo. It is better then I expected. Surfing was very quick and they let me try it with my SIM card so that there was no 'smoke and mirrors'. There is a nice protective case in the box too. The actual box looks like a big box of chocolate so sneaking it past the missus should be a breeze....
I witnessed 5 going out of the door whilst I was there so it is safe to say that this is going to be a hugely popular machine. Any voicecall hacks yet??
For those who are not aware, Inkino are at 48 Tottenham Court Road and 9 Great Russell Street in Central London and also at www.inkino.co.uk I have no business connection with these guys apart from being an addicted customer who appreciates the old-school style of service.
Well I just pulled the trigger with Devicewire, should be with me tomorrow.
Let's see if Citylink couriers can mess this delivery up, like they do with most of my Ebuyer purchases.....
09/01/2010 - Placed an Order for a Nexus One. The delivery address clearly says Tottenham, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM.
12/01/2010 - I am notified of a DHL Tracking Number. The DHL tracking website says the destination is 'Tottenham, Uganda'.
12/01/2010 - Minutes after noticing this I sent messages to the Google Webstore to say "My DHL Tracking number 8845726*** says that my Nexus One is being delivered to Tottenham, UGANDA. Can you please make sure that it is on its way to me instead in Tottenham, LONDON. Thanks "
12/01/2010 - At the same time, I sent a message to DHL Customer Services with all of my details to say "This package is to be delivered to TOTTENHAM, LONDON. The tracking details say it is going TOTTENHAM, UGANDA. Can you please make sure it goes to the right place!"
13/01/2010 - The package is collected from your warehouse by DHL.
13/01/2010 - DHL Customer Services acknowledge my message and say that they have passed on details. From now onwards DHL will email me every two days or so with a canned response telling me they are looking into the matter and providing no further information or help in any way.
14/01/2010 - My phone gets to 'Cincinnati Hub, OH' - I know this is where it will get on an International Flight, so I phoned DHL in the UK to check and see where it is going. The nice lady on the phone said that it was coming to the UK, nothing to worry about, it'll be with me soon. Sure enough, it lands in East Midlands, UK Airport.
15/01/2010 - The phone passes through London Heathrow. Thought that I might even get it today. Face pressed against my window watching DHL vans drive by.
15/01/2010 - "Transit through DHL facility - Nairobi, Kenya"
16/01/2010 - I make yet another attempt in vain to contact Google. So far I have heard nothing from them.
16/01/2010 - The package reaches Customs in Kampala, Uganda.
20/01/2010 - Today, the phone is still in Kampala. Google still have not replied to any of my messages.
I don't even know whether to expect it back. The most advanced phone ever made, currently being 'inspected' by an official in Kampala. I'm guessing that they will either seize it, or send me back an empty box with a thankyou note. The most frustrating thing is a complete lack of support so far from Google.
I really hope they don't test my patience by not dealing with this matter urgently.
Its my friends birthday tomorrow and I'm sending him my G1... so I don't actually even have a phone at the moment! I really need to get this resolved right now.
According to the Google Support forums, one other guy has his phone in Uganda as well. One guy did have his in Uganda, but it has somehow made it back to the UK in one piece. There is a dude who's phone is in Hong Kong and someone else who's phone is in Singapore.
Nice one Google.
I feel really sorry for you man, but if it makes you feel any better, I almost pissed myself laughing when I read your post. Especially the entries from the 15th.
The fact Uganda is certainly not on the very short list of countries that are allowed to order the N1, only makes this story all the more bizarre.
Well here's Google's number. Let em have it (650)253-0000
Man people are quick to jump on the 'hate google' bandwagon. Like shipping errors never happen, looks like the issue was with DHL anyway.

Nah man, I'm not hating.
I'm a Google fanboy, bought a G1 when it came out, run my business on Google Apps, bought my sister a HTC Magic and lots more.
Anyway, people make mistakes! Its fine, s*** happens, c'est la vie. My phone is still in Uganda. You know what, that is not the problem.
The problem is a complete lack of acknowledgement from Google. They haven't replied to any of the many messages through different channels that I have sent.
By the way, it is Google's problem. DHL were supplied incorrect addresses and country codes. If you are lucky only the postcodes and parts of the address are scrambled. If you're unlucky like me, the country code gets scrambled too.
Anyway, in the past few minutes I have a reply on my Google Support thread from a Google employee saying that they will be in touch. 11 Days after my first messages but hey, its something.

LOL. . Sorry to laugh at someone else's misfortune but that was too funny!
Mine had the wrong country too (Switzerland in my case) but DHL spotted it and readdressed it.
The guy at DHL (when I queried why it was delayed) said they'd had loads of them like that and were going through correcting them.

I can easily see how that can be taken as a racist comment, and I'm sorry for implying that. But I'm not really coming from that angle.
My father was exiled from Uganda in 1972 by Idi Amin along with the rest of my family, so I've learn't a lot about what life was like back then. Also, I've done my fair share of travelling in Africa.
I don't want to turn this into any kind of political debate at all, but completely separate from how kind, easy going and friendly the Ugandan people are... this is official business. Try dealing with customs, police, or any government body out there. They do what they like! So what I'm saying is that I was just being real.
So yeah, don't take me as a racist. I hope I am as much opposite to that as possible.
Not going to make any more comments about this by the way... just want my N1! Its still 'under inspection' lol

No, really, that was ABSOLUTELY not my intention. In fact i wrote "it SOUNDS racist" and put a at the end.

Again: good luck!
Hi there,
I've found so much useful info here I thought I would join the forum to hopefully pay something back.
Carphone Warehouse DO have the bundle in stock today (Tuesday 10th). I'm not relying on the website - I've spoken to them. If you are placing an order I'd recomment phoning them and getting them to check the bundle is still in stock (not just the tablet).
they have previously shown 'in stock' on their website when they didn't have any, so I made a complaint to them and kicked up huge fuss. they got mixed up over the tablet and the bundle stock levels, so promised to call me when the bundle was definitely available. They called at 10 this morning, but I've had to wait until lunch time to be able to post this.
I'm having mine delivered to store - hopefully collecting tomorrow .
I'm not at all a developer - just someone who likes what her gadgets can do for her, so I'm not sure I'll get a chance to help out any other way. I hope someone gets their bundle from this. Thanks to those of you who are making useful contributions that us lurkers get benefit from!
Maddi
PS - when making my complaint CPW told me to just buy the tablet and then get the keyboard separately. the sales guy said "I mean, what will it be - £20. "£30". He was so proud of himself he told me he'd convinced a few people to do that just that very day. Given CPW aren't selling the £100 keyboard separately, and WONT split the bundles because of 'systems issues' there will be some annoyed people out there with very little redress. Don't believe the sales hype!
Hi Maddi,
How wonderful to see another woman here and how nice of you to register to try to give useful info to the community.
I also love my gadgets and even though I'm not not a developer either (yet folks like us can be really helpful to the dev's so welcome to the forums !
Btw, I'm from across the pond, Boston to be exact, you might remember us?
Spoke to Lasksys Friday
I phoned Laskys last Friday and they said they would have stock today and had an update on delivery on Monday now for Friday - However EBuyer had 22 now its back to 1st June like Amazon - I think they may have sold 22 combo units in 15 from a Facebook posting!!! Looks like the linited stock are going like hot cakes!!!
Well well GadgetMaddi, thanks 4 that, got mine for delivery tomorrow from Carphonewarehouse, the last one of 3 they had! Can't wait....
Well done Dr Cropper. didn't realise they had so few - glad I warned people to phone. here's hoping they turn up on time. Don't think I'll sleep properly tonight!
Hi Geekbabe, thanks for the welcome. Feels a bit wrong I'm drinking a cuppa while chatting to a Bostonian So far my only experience of Boston was being whisked in and out of the airport on a business trip to Connecticut. Looked beautiful though! It's definitely on the list for a proper visit when I get my next passport (there's a boring story - it ends with the US changing the rules and I can't get in with my current passport unless I go through a nightmare visa process, so can't wait until I get my new passport next year).
I shall take your words to heart and stick around on the forum for a while.
Are you trying to get your hands on a transformer too?
