How to remove date / Size from explorer? - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hi,
Anyone know how to remove date or size from the explorer as most of the time my filename was hidding halfway. I do not need the date or file size or anyway to shorten the date?
Thanks!

You can't, I use to flip it to landscape to see the names but now use Resco Explorer 2005

clock on toolbar XDA 2i

I installed some software which caused the fonts on the "clock" item on my today screen to become unreadable.
I also miss having the clock on the top toolbar as was the case previously on my xda II
Does anyone know of any software i can purchase that will display the time on either the top or bottom toolbar?
find TBOpt in the registery and change its value from "0" to 1, 2 or 3 for time, or date, or both to be displayed in the top ringh of the screen
John
can't find the registry on this device? do i ned something like resco file explorer to locate it coz the "find" facility is useless

Changing the columns in File Explorer

Hi all,
In File Explorer (the built in one) there are three columns, name of file, date file was added and size of file. I don't need to know when files were added or realyl how big they are, but I would like to see the full file names if possible, can I get rid of the two columns I don't want??

Click to collapse
You can't. Why not switch to an alternate solution like Resco File Explorer or Total Commander? The former supports this functionality (View / Show Columns); dunno if the latter does it too (but it's certainly better than the built-in FE)
aww thats a shame, I was hoping I'd missed an options panel somewhere or at least a reg hack I could use. I hate installing new apps to replace existing ones....
Thanks anyway

You could change the view from portrait to landscape. This allows you to view more of the file names. To allow you to do this quickly map 'rotate screen' to one of the buttons.
You could probably hack this in - I did something similar with VJSmallIcons II.
But as noted supra, use GSFinder or Resco or Total Commander. File Explorer is massively limited compared with these alternatives.

Change Explorer Today Shortcut to Resco

Is there anyway I can change the shortcut at the bottom of the Today Screen from the normal Explorer to Resco Explorer 2007? I find it a lot better peice of kit...
I've looked in the registry, but think I changed the wrong thing as I had to hard-reset :-/

How to do some of the tips?

Okay I am reading through the sticky tips and want to do number 1 but fall down immediately - the view I have does not show the full name (eg it only says solitaire not solitaire.exe etc).
How do I get the full view of files and more importantly how do I actually "copy" or create a shortcut link as it suggests?
I click on more and I don't see a "create shortcut" or "cpy" option??
If i want to change what goes into the Manilla at the bottom of the screen how do I do this please [as the tip to add taskmanager to this bar appeals to me!]
Thanks
install total commander, resco explorer or shell extension for file explorer... then ull have all those features... maybe its possible to enable them in classic file explorer (try tap and hold on file u wish to copy it should pop up dialog where is copy...) but those programs are way better
when u click on empty icon ull be able to add new program and when there is already one and u want to change it... use right soft key and remove them first then u can add new ones...

[Q] tweaks/hacks for file explorer and contacts page?!

Hey guys..are there any tweaks/hacks for file explorer and contacts page which makes programs names and respectively contacts name to be shown fully..not just a part of them?i'm looking for this for long time..
I think, the only way is to turn your screen to landscape.
yep..i know this way but i'm just usual to browse the phone in portrait mode
Maybe, only if you find a way to decrease font size (names must be fit to screen, to see full name), but then you will get two new problems:
1. Vision problem
2. It will be difficult to use your finger to select an item.
hmmm..better a hack or a registry change then
About font size decreasing?
yeah......
It's not easy...
...maybe with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551611
doesn't work..it give me an error
What's the error said?
MagnifierSetup.exe
NullreferenceException
la Magnifiersetup.main..ctor()
la MagnifierSetup.Program.Main()
does it work for you?
I don't know why. I don't use it. I prefer auto-rotation.
i use auto-rotation apps too..but all of them rotates manila too..even if i put them in exception list..and if i wanna use manila/sense i need to close this program hmmm
Have you tried ChangeScreen?
yes..using it..but as i told u its messing up manila even if i put it as exception, and its kinda freezing the phone when i go to homescreen
Try a manual-rotation app.
Something like this:

thx but its no fun without g-sensor
still looking if there is a registry hack, cuz i want to be able to see full contacts name in portrait mode, and as for file explorer i'd like to get rid of date and maybe file size because i dont care about them..this way i will see the full app name
For your files you can use Resco Explorer. You have to deactivate "Show Treeview" and you will be able to see in full name more items than file explorer, but not all.
looks great,thx..and MUCH more complex than WM file explorer, thank you very much
as for contacts..i'll try to find a better contacts manager too,,maybe i will see full names too
