I always see picture of Qtek 9100 has black color top cover and silver bottom while K-JAM and O2 mini s are totaly silver, but after I read some review, i found that every time I saw a Wizard in the review, it is totaly silver,
Are there really a verson with a black color top cover?

this look more pro and cool
I too would prefer the unit in a black finish.
On SmartDevices.com the unit is Black. But elsewhere the 9100 seems to be totally silver.
Anyone have any idea why?
Lewis
I think that all of the designs we've seen aren't final. Some guy said that his Qtek 9100 has a silver keyboard while all the web photos show a black keyboard. We'll have to wait to see.
I wrote and asked about the Qtek 9100 brand of the Wizard.
Reply I got from smartdevicesdirect.com:

Looks like won't be able to get it in a black finish :-(
Lewis
Having said that every picture i can find of the Qtek 9100, including the picture on Qteks own site shows it having a black finish.
I wonder if the test devices theyve been sending out are generic ones. I notice none of the pictures of a silver Qtek actually have the word Qtek on them. Whereas the black ones do.

It's red light, same as Jasjar or Dopod
RE
FI, Dopod kb backlight is blue color
Exec backlight also is Blue
MDA Pro is red
Dopod backlight for keyboard is red color
SORRY!
Sorry! Dopod kb backlight is red.
So, what is QTEK 9000 kb backlight color? Anyone knows?
RE
Its confirmed red?
So basically the only HTC Universal with a blue back light is the O2 XDA EXEC? Is this the conclusion that we can accept?

Ok, I want a blue LED on my MDA Pro.
Who's gonna take one to bits and tell me how to do it then?
It MIGHT be possible to change it by fidgeting with the registry files, I think I read something about it in one of the threads, a few days back.
Having said that, it is possible that the actuall LED(s ?) used are colour specific, so... that might involve tinkering with the insides of the device.
Another alternative is of course to buy the xda Exec
... I am very happy with mine

I think if they did go to the trouble to install multi coloured LED's in these things they would at least have put an option on these things to change em!
I think its more likley gonna involve a hell of a lot of soldering, I hate to think how small they will be :?
Hello, I have problems with the quality of pictures from my Qtek 9100. It seems that it is not problem of certain ROM (I tried several versions). It does not matter if I choose Night, or any other mode. Picture are very smooth. I do not expect any extra quality, but I would like to have normal quality which is Qtek 9100 able to achieve. Cover and lens are clear, I do not know where the problem could be. Have you any idea, how to solve this?
Wholly cow... that is pretty bad...
While my inside Quality isn't great, it's definately not like that.
These are from an 8125 for your comparison...

Do you suffer from Parkinsons?
this is prob not the case, but i hate how some amateur complain how their digi cams sucks, like they have a 5MP camera and they say it sucks, i have a 2.5MP and i take better pics then them. they always says their pics are out of focus.
and conversion lens might help.
heres a review i wrote up recently
http://nlstudio.us/VK/phonelens/phone.htm
As I wrote, I do not expect miracles, I would be sattisfied to have the same quality as the others with Qtek 9100...
there are 2 cab files floating around somewhere in this forum that take away the blue speckle and edit some of the camera settings so the quality improves tenfold
...both already installed...
cau vidim ze mas uplne stejny problem jak ja..
kdyztak se mi ozvi na icq 319740598 nebo na email [email protected].
budem to muset nejak poresit ,protoze uz me totaky pekne sere
Sorry for the lesson of Czech language. This guy has the same problem like me. I have seen his picture and it is the same case...
It was really HW problem. I have replaced camera module with the new one (which I got from new Vario under guarantee - now I will try to make claim) and this is the result
Hi all, I accidentally spaced out and posted in the universal forum cause I seen Kyphurs links, but Im thinkin a few here might be interested due to the use of the zombienexus dialpads on the wm6 rom, plus it just looks good.
Im trying to find a true black theme that is glossy, either they look more gray and are glossy, or are black and flat, but I have noticed when I go to settings/today, and like switch from the gossy gray to the flat black, there is a split second where the true black is glossy, so if the setting could be found I imagine it can't be too much to fix it.
I don't have much stuff handy to mess with it, I did open a couple .tsk files with winrar on my remote pc, and got the images, but the config is unreadable to me, if someone knows a bit more I'd appreciate it them looking into it, in the meantime I'll try to get it figured out.
I also noticed though when going from an old wm5 theme, like the flat black ones to the actual wm6 themes that there is a lot that isn't added to the registry like in wm5.
Example if you go to
HKLM/software/microsoft/color
with a wm5 theme installed, then switch to a wm6 theme and refresh, you'll see the difference or atleast I did with the black wm6 and solo black themes found here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295173
(also where my post is)
If you look at kyphurs page here
http://wm6.kyphur.org/Today Themes.asp
You can see the difference between the true black, and gloss gray.
If I have missed a true black glossy theme somewhere I apologize for the bother, I already had my post deleted once when I tried to add an attachment, so please excuse any misspelled words or babble, as it is getting late.
Here is a pic to show the buttons I am trying to match, I did go into HKLM/software/microsoft/color and change the "BaseHue" to 000, and the pic is as dark as it went..I could possibly be missin something, the changes were instantanious, and playin around I found quite a few neat colors..but no true black.

Set basehue to 160 and that will give you black baby.
Use ThemeGen if you want to build it into a theme, it's free.
When I have received my (black) G1, I figured it looked better than in commercials and photos online, but at first I couldn't understand why. And the it hit me: call, home, back, & end were all white instead of red and green.

Rather than this:
Is this the difference between the US and th UK versions? Can you please state what country you're in and if your buttons are colored or single-color.
I'm in the US and I have a G1 from a Tmo store the day of release and I have the green and red buttons.
I wonder why did they decide to manufacture two different sets of keys. Shouldn't that be more expensive? Though we also have a pound sign, so I guess couple buttons here or there don't change much.
I've seen a few videos of the UK G1 and it seems it also has a glossy finish for the keyboard while the U.S. version has the same finish as the exterior of the phone. Can anyone confirm this is true?
Yep, UK version has glossy finish.
maybe the white keys is for testing and comercial phone, for user almost phone have green and red

Is the difference Black vs. Bronze? The one picture with the red/green buttons is Bronze. I also have Bronze and red/green buttons.
Interesting as UK users didn't even have an option for bronze. Only black or white.
US T-Mobile users only black or bronze.
Mine is US, Bronze and keys are red, white and green.
It is quite normal for this practice... although I don't understand why as the devices are exactly the same if I am not mistaken. Usually you see differences so people can tell that one is using a different band.
I have a UK G1.
My start and end call buttons are white and my keyboard background is piano black along with the menu key and the border that seperates the front and the back of the phone.

I figured I would give this website first shot at it before I listed it on e-bay.
I'm selling my AT&T 8525 since I just bought a 8925, I wanted one for a long time now.
Either way, its in 100% working condition, has the SPL and RADIO listed in my sig, and is currently flashed with a pretty blan wm6.1 rom, Obviously I can flash it with whatever you want before it ships or you can just overwrite it when you get it.
The case has been replaced on it for a Black HTC housing vs the AT&T 8525 one that had some scratches on it, This one is still in very good condition, (I'll send you the old housing if you want it.) Only wear mark is on the letter T on the keyboard from where it slides open. I had the screen replaced once from it getting cracked and this one has had a screen protector on it for its full life so it looks brand new.
I'll add to this thread tonight with some pictures, I currently don't have my camera on me.
I'm also including a Pharos GPS BT dock and a Microsoft GPS adapter, to use in conjunction with either Live Search, or Google maps. Always worked good for me. The BT unlock code for the dock is the factory code, I'll try to find and Include the box and instructions for that if I can find them.
The phone will come with the original box I got with the unit, and booklet, a charger, and wired headset if I can find that as well.
Any questions or requests, send me a e-mail, [email protected]
Guaranteed 100% not DOA I'll package it so NOTHING will happen in shipping.
I'm looking to get $200 with free US Postal Service shipping, with insurance.
