My point exactly ,,, these specs don't even mention EDGE !!
Thats because its not EDGE compliant. The HTC Apache is the EDGE compliant version of the Wizard.
The specs I have posted are official as they have been confirmed with the supplier.

As far as we have heard and seen in the States, the HTC Apache is the CDMA version of the Wizard and has EVDO (and thus not EDGE which runs on GSM). Rumor has it that the Wizard (at least the one that will be released by the US GSM carriers) will have EDGE.
The specs here confirm the EDGE rumor on the Qtek 9100: http://msmobiles.com/news.php/4173.html
Oh crap my bad.. sorry, yes the Apache is the CDMA version and apparently the Wizard has EDGE.
Here we go:
http://www.qtek.fi/qtek9100.htm
does anyone know if this will have support for USB 2.0 (the sync port)?
OMAP 850 specs
Well, I got a bit curious and went digging on the TI site for information about the OMAP 850 and found this:
http://focus.ti.com/general/docs/wt...00&path=templatedata/cm/product/data/omap_850
Based on this I would say that yes, it is possible that the device has 802.11g (The diagram shows a/b/g) and they could very well have Bluetooth 2.0 (Did anyone spot a BRF6300 chip on the device?).
Robert Harrold
Houston, TX
Very unlikely that it will have anything above 802.11b.
In the specs:
CMOS 1.3Mega pixel with fixed lens
Or
CMOS 2.1Mega pixel with macro lens / AF
anyone heard of a unit selling with the 2.1?
Also, I in the specs under MSD:
Blackberry email client (Optional)
I heard of a blackberry client available for the Magician, anyone have it?

The diagram only shows peripherals the processor supports... The final call is the sole property of HTC whether to put an a, b, or g. Just like Intel Bulverde supports Wi-Fi internally, Palm Treo 650 (Bulverde 312 MHz) doesn't come with Wi-Fi.

I've just been thinking...what is your dream device?
What would HTC (or any PPC Phone manufacturer) have to develop to get you to put your Hermes in your mobile phone collection drawer?
I'd love to know what is your perfect PPC Phone Device! Let's get the perfection specs listed here.
If Apple can get 2 gigs into a Nano why can't HTC get 2gb in a PPC phone?

I agree. At first I though if Cingy released the Hermes like it was supposed to be with the front camera then that would be enough. But actually I could give a rats about the front camera. I think you are right on target.
Why is it that they can't increase the rom to a gig? Is there a technical reason why that is the case?

and more memory and longer lasting battery
Use a screen that dosen't suck as much as a lot of other TS-phones do in sunlight/outside. Something that Neonode has used for years now on the N1.
Suport regular SDHC memcards, GPS and a OS that shows some inovation (WM7 anyone)..

As a lefty I applauded the Hermes thumbwheel placement... For once the tables are turned. Don't change a thing there plz.
Hurrah for Lefties!!!! I enjoy that scroll wheel very much!
Hermes would be greater if....
it had...
a slimmer design,
more internal memory
and a standard headphone jack.
otherwise...
Great phone, especially with kyphers xd-live rom
that all have phun hehehe
They could release this same phone in a second edition or anything else they want to call it and add a few features.
More internal storage memory is a MUST. I cannot think of a single reason for being limited to around 45-60mb when Nokias and SonyEricssons are getting double that at the least.
Internal GPS also needs to be there. I never understood why people would want it until I finally tried it. It is not just about navigation. It gives access to location based information regarding restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and just about any other business you may need and their phone numbers...yeah, plus directions to the location!
A NO CAMERA option and a better camera for those who choose the camera. We don't all want one on the phone since we can't take them certain places...like work. However, those that do want it should have a better camera installed. I do not just mean more megapixels. The camera needs to be sharper, faster, clearer, and more accurate for colors. I don't need 7MP on my phone, but the photos I take with it should be worth showing to people, not just big.
More security options for those of us who don't have access to the Exchange server. Many of us might have a hosted exchange service or none at all but we still want access to all of the security feature that other users enjoy.
...and keep the scroll wheel on the left! Right handed folks get everything else made for them. It is nice to have something for me!
I'll Play, I think the "Kaiser" will be close, slightly thinner Hermes with built-in GPS.
I'm OK with 320x240 as the Hermes is quite good, I have an iPaq hx4700 with a HUGE 640x480 screen with excellent outdoor readability so who wouldn't love a ultra crisp display.
I have always wondered why the heck these companies won't give us a couple of GIG extra storage. I'd also prefer mini SD so we could use a cheaper and I think more common 8GB SDHC card.
Thumb wheel. Well I've played with a friend's Blackberry and it is better on the right (for us right handers).
Can't wait to see the Kaiser, one step closer to the perfect "all-in-one"
Hmm, let me see (in order of preference)
Built in DAB digital radio
GPS
Built in FM/AM radio
A screen the same size as my Hermes but with higher resolution.
Better camera (maybe 3mp but also better quality metering and focusing)
Mini SD slot or large (6gb) int memory
3.5mm headphone socket
Better quality loudspeaker
Better layout of buttons on front of device (I have a SPV M3100)
Once the qwerty slide is out, it would be nice to be able to tilt the screen towards you.
An clip-on external wifi ariel to boost signal as standard in the box
Also just imagine the processing power and RAM of even a cheep laptop in a PPC. You could attach an auxiliary 9" screen, mini keyboard and run a version of windows far closer to the desktop OS (if not the same). I could even get some web design done on the move then without a laptop.
lol, probably got a bit carried away there, but then again when the Nokia 8210 was the mutts nuts 5-6 years ago who would of thought that the Hermes would have been possible!

Built-in printer/scanner No, seriously, a thought reader.
Form factor is ok, but it would be nice if the screen could be tilted slightly. On the hardware side, I would like to see:
USB host, standard audio jack, GPS would be nice, better design (slimmer and better looking), video out (don't care vga/cinch/...), video in, 640x480 display, ...
My main issues are with the software, before any other hardware, I would like the software to provide more features:
BT PAN, WPA2, better IMAP support, stability (sometimes my startbutton just disappears, sometimes the device just hangs, ...), printerdrivers, ...
Oh, BTW, a printer is not so far fetched: the technology is here.

the speaker is stereo but hermes speaker just a mono...i like this softbank
X01HT speaker is not stereo, it's mono. All it does is downmix the stereo into mono to play through it.
Oh and just a heads-up, if you do intend on buying an X01HT and are going to be using the Softbank service, Softbank only has UMTS support (1.8Mbps) rather than full HSDPA.

If you take a look at it, it comes from the 3470 (or rather, the P660). I think that they have removed the CPU and replaced it with a faster one.
Those pictures are a P660/P3470, there can be no question.

I realize that the Dopod 660 is the same as the P3470, and it has the same Specs.
But the Ebay add specifically said that they had upgraded the OMAP to a different CPU, and that WiFi was enabled. I asked the seller about this.
what did the seller say about it?

He said it was "OEM" and that the CPU was indeed fast (presumably no longer the OMAP850), and that WiFi was present. I wasn't interested in buying one, so I didn't ask about the language (English, I guess, the auction was in AU $), warranty, etc.
very strange, so they changed the cpu,.. and the motherboard presumably...so then its a different phone

I think they just swapped out the CPU and added drivers for the WiFi. The external form factor and the other specifications are identical to the P660 / P3470.
Either they licensed the design from HTC, or they "borrowed" it. Or maybe HTC is building them for another company - HTC often does that, although it is usually common knowledge when this happens.
euhm they would also have to put in a wifi chip... that is unless ours is disabled... i would love to get a copy of that rom!!

There is a whole thread about enabling WiFi on the HTC Pharos; evidently the OMAP 850 has WiFi built in, but HTC chose not to support WiFi. They have had no luck enabling it in the Pharos. I suspect there is a hardware issue, i.e., there is no connection from the OMAP to an antenna.

hehehe i know i started that thread... we didnt succeed in identifying a couple of chips.. so we dont know if there is an actual antenna connection... and we have confirmed that Pharos does not have a bluetooth/wifi in one chip
so if the coolp660 has wifi and ONLY the processor is changed... that would be very significant! then our pharos is "wifi ready" just needs to be enabled!

The items are no longer for auction on ebay (the auctions ended, and no more are listed). I'm not entirely sure it wasn't a scam anyway; the item was from Hong Kong, but the listing was in AU $. It seemed funny to me, not to mention that the device was obviously a P3470 case and specification - except for the CPU and WiFi.
This is an awsome Phone!!!!!!
Well for a noob like myself I think it is. This phone is also considered a V990.
It has Windows Mobile 6 Pro / CE os 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2). with a PXA310 @ 624MHZ, 256/128. It's also VERY affordable. I have no clue as to what the OS is compatable to OEM, Cooked, or other OS could replace it. any info on this would be greatly appreciated by far. Thanks in advanced for any info and I hope this phone does alot better than the DAXIAN X999+
of course
yes it has WIFI too
if it does have the PXA processor then its a significantly different phone than the p3470...so much for getting that rom ...
so i've got this phone, it says it has 624mhz cpu and wifi is working
if you want it's rom, pictures or screenshots - just tell me how to do it

Good morning people, it's Friday and hopefully your all in a good mood.
I am wanting some help from some of XDA's Resident Chef's that would like a new challenge, I have just recieved my new device the HP Ipaq Data Messenger and want to start cooking ROM's for it, as no-one seems to do them, it was a insurance replacement for my diamond that went missing and they no longer stocked it so I had to choose a replacement, this was the best they had. It's a touch screen device with a slide out keyboard running WM6.1 Pro. However it's build is quite out of date, runs very slow despite being tweaked using Advanced Config and full of HP Bloateware. I want to be able to create some fast ROM's for this device like I could with my Kaiser and then my Diamond. I would hopefully like to take a look at WM6.5 on the device as I am very impressed with it on my diamond, or at least I was before it vanished.
I am hoping someone will take pity on me and give me a hand, helping me figure out how to dump the rom, create a new one removing crap, updating build, etc, and figuring how to get it back on the device as I assume we'll need to create some kind of custom bootloader.
Hopefully I have explained myself properly and that one of the god like chef's will help me out, I work in IT and have been using HTC Devices and custom ROM's for years so have some experience with this.
Thanks for any help guys, the specs are below for those interested.

Any1?
Please anyone, i'm stuck with the Data Messenger as well, it is slow and buggy.
Thank god i still have my 614 (mhh 614 with wm 6.1 love that thing) because the Data Messenger is to unstable to use as a phone.
The phoe itself looks good and has a lot of potential however as long as we are stuck with "rushed to market" roms from HP that potential will never be realised.
I can use my Data messenger for testing of roms, and i dont care if it gets bricked.
You can post specific requests for ROMs in the Q&A section.. this is a development and hacking section dedicated to applications and themes.. for everyone.
