hi , i was trying to connect to the internet using a website other than webmessenger.msn.con because it seems not to be compatible with PIE and Netfront, i found a cool site where we can load a java applet that connects to the msn service but it fails to load due to unknow reasons , i tried PIE and Netfront 3.2 with no success , anyway clue ? please check the site and let me know if someone will make the applet runs on the device www.msn2go.com .

I've visited the site,registered in the forum and had a little readings over there....What happened is that,after failing to login to MSN2Go(the messenger) from my PPC and WAP GPRS connection(off course,like all Alfa users :wink: ),I tried the link from my desktop and modem connection,but nothing happened!!!!!not even the error message i had on my PDA...So what i did is that I PMed Nick,the founder of MSN2Go and explained everything :wink:

Many thanks RAGO , but the applet is running on my PC , i opened the site , launched the java applet ( in new window for sure with popups allowed ), " LOADING APPLET " , after a minute i had the window where i have to signin , it worked without any errors , it's just amazing . U can imagine we wont have to refresh the page everytime anymore , actually i'm tired of the mob.e-messenger.net , specially that e-messenger.net and webmessenger.msn.com are not compatible with our PDAs and with the Wap over gprs connection.

Why don't you just use the MSN Messenger that comes already installed on the device?

well it's because i have a Wap over gprs connection . it wont connect with the default application that comes with the device because i have access only to port 80 , 8080 . other ports are blocked ( 1080 , socks4 ) used by the original application . i need a web based messenger . Msn2go is just great but ... it requires java applet Support . Please let me know if someone succeeded launching the applet . many thanks.

I used a self extracting rom which ill e-mail you if you want as i dont have an ftp , you need to put you xda2 into to the cradle and run the file leave for 1/2 hour ish then hard reset

That won´t work, cause he has an "old" XDA and not the new XDA2...
The better way for him is reading a little bit in this forum. This question had been answered a few times. Also there is much about flashing the device. ROM´s can be found on some pages, edonkey, kitchen, ... many links in this forum.

Did you not get ClearView with your XDA? It comes on the applications CD.
SAME HERE WITH ME ...UNABLE TO INSTALL ADOBE!THATS RUBBISH ACTUALLY.

I´m able to install it in the device, but not in the storage card.
To use it in storage card i´ve installed it using a Windows Mobile 2003 SE device, then inserted the SD in Universal, explored the folder and there will be an executable that is able run Adobe 2.0

I think you will find that a PDF viewer was actually supplied with the xda Exec. Just check both of the CDs you got with the device.

what happend was i had to return my 1st device that i recvied due to one of the hardware buttons not working so what i must have done is put the cd into the box i sent back thats why i couldnt find it, i just called my mate who also got the exec and asked him to go through his stuff and he said he has it

i've have a dopod d600...i have a little problem with this one...i've been using this for 8-9 months...now there are multiple taps on the screen automatically...it goes on for about 9-10 times and stops on its own...it looks as if my dopod is possesed....ghost!!!!
i'm not a technical person...i'm a doctor...but i managed to do rom upgrade from 1.02 to 1.07wwe...
any help would be great....coZ when i'm in a call the call goes to hold mode automatically and even if i unhold it goes back to hold mode...about 7-8 times then becomes ok.....

Its not the software,its the actual buttons that keep getting 'locked up' in the same position(I used to get that with the action button) Try checking that.

the action button was indead the problem now i've fixed it and the phone works great.....about the 1.07 wwe version i got it from on of the forums here in xda-developers....go to search button on this website search "gene" watch the last colum for gene related topics....i used to get "invalid vendor error"...then i used FlashBootSplash also available on that forum page followed the instruction given in the read me file and lo behold i have 1.07 now..very happy....if there still is a problem i will upload once i get back (i'm going out of the country for 2 weeks)

WirelessLAN applet is missing in Communications folder. I have to adjust the performance in power mode to BEST because I cannot browse to internet or even update the weather.
Adding "MyCPL.cpl,13" didn't work too ..

i can provide drivers and flash tool for the original firmware / custom firmware "not signed" or whatever u call it... windows 8.1 pro dk i use ... i updated my device 9 times... trying to edit it .. managed to get 2 new clocks... 1 unusable app working.. bin ...still havent been able to make watch belive im allowed to use browser , fb & twitter ...! becoes its not ment to be for EU .. say china ! WTH ! get lost ... ill add it me self !
would love to know how to edit the ROM file iv tryed many parttions selections ... next step is LINUX ... and its cracked fast !
