Hi
My cursor remains in the url box since I tweaked some fonts, scroll bar dimensions and other things.
the d-pad/jog wheel moves the entire page...but no in-page cursor/clicking of items.
Its been all stylus for a few days.
I am a bit ignorant on how to proceed.
I DO have all backed up on the device with spb.
Tell me what to do please!
Gratefully.
If you backed up all your data on the device with Spb Backup software prior to your experimenting, then you simply have to click on the executable file that was created when you did the backup and all will be restored.
please know that i'm totally new to windows/computers...... but exactly what is the 'executable file' created?
Aren't there certain files from previous backups associated with IE amd IE settings that I can selectively custom restore?
Again, thank you for help.
tim
On default, the backup file is created under \My Documents -directory. Just click the filename and the backup restoration dialogue begins... basically just click Next/Yes
Your patience will be rewarded somehow sir(s)....
so..I went to my spb backup to a previous date when it worked.......
then in restore chose my documents (?)..and restored those files:.... no return to cursur function.
'my documents' on my storage card has no 'directory'.
I'll keep playing!
Thanks again
tim
I don't quite understand what you mean by "'my documents' on my storage card has no 'directory'.
My Documents -directory is located on Phones internal memory by default. When you insert a Storage Card, it has no directories nor files.
And after a quick thinking, I can only remember Camera application to use Storage Card\My Documents, wether you choose to save pictures there and after that the My Documents directory will be created.
You could copy the executable backup file to storage card, then do a hard reset and then restore files from the backup.
Oh and one thing, when you create a backup or restore, make sure, you are not connected to ActiveSync. I learned that lesson once
If my memory serves me right, Spb Backup makes backup only of Phones internal memory, so restoring a backup, won't put anything on the storage card.
Do i need to install titanium backup to external sd card so i cab restore the backup on internal sd card of GT? I am asking because if i flash the device and the tit. backup is on the internal sd card everything will be deleted including tit backup app so from where i can restore my backup?
No need. You just install titanium on the phone and do the backup. You can then move the entire directory to your external sd card. When you flash, you just install it again and then restore your backup.
/Feras - Galaxy Tab
sorry which directory to move you are talking about?
No need to move anything. Just change the backup folder in TB - Menu - Preferences - Backup folder name from the default of TitaniumBackup (which is on the internal SD card) to external_sd/Titanium Backup (which is on the external SD card). Voila! You may need to reinstall TB from the Market if you have deleted everything but the backups will remail on your external card.
norm2002 thanks, you know without changing the directory (before reading your post) i backed up everything and then flashed with JMI, flashed perfectly and then installed Titanium back and when i tried to restore i see no files to restore it was 0 written. I was assuming TB uploads all data to it's server but now No Voila for me. But now you taught me how to backup. Will press thanks for your help.

That was very helpfull. Had the same problem wenn i flashed the Roto-rom. Thought i was covered with Titanium. But the flash deleted mij internal-sd. Now all is on the external and i am very pleased..
i've always run how norm2002 describes it. hasn't failed me yet.
oh men, no offence, but this forum is becoming a rubbish container...
times ago I remember this forum as one where there were only advanced users posting their finds and where the newbies could read and learn about...
but now every new(to android and not only!) user is opening 3d here and there so the usefull 3d are going to finish bottom page or even in the other pages and finding what you need is becoming just as searching a needle in the rick.
so please USE THE SEARCH BUTTON and some nous before posting such things...for the "well being" of the XDA comunity...
thanks and I repeat : NO OFFENCE INTENDED!
how could somebody pretend to mod his cell/tab without even reading the settings in the apps he uses?
.....to posterity the arduous sentence!

Thanks, I'll make the change too.
If you want to be sure, you could always copy the titanium backup folder from the tab to your PC(USB), and copy it back after formatting/flashing a rom.
Nice tip norm2002! I can't count the times I have deleted my precious backups when I repartitioned!
Thank you all, you guys are very informative.

The more places you can have backup files saved, the safer you are. With TB it's wise to have the backup files stored on:
- External SD card
- PC
- Dropbox
This way, regardless of what happens, you have your backup files safe and can set up your Tablet (or a new one if your old Tablet gets lost/stolen) easily.
Ok guys thanks for all the answers
The dropbox option is very cool!
Hey all,
Every time I try to run a batch backup job in TiBu, I receive the "Batch backup interrupted: Insufficient free storage" error message. I think I've run through all the drills to resolve (i.e. uninstall TiBu, delete /sdcard/data/... folder, delete /data/data/... folder, wipe dalvik and cache). If I do all of the above, I am able to run the batch backup.. once. Every time after that I receive the insufficient free storage message.
Also, TiBu is either unable to see the backed up files in its folder, or the files are corrupt. I verified that TiBu is pointed to the correct folder and can see all of the property files in it, but it won't let me restore anything from the folder.
It should be also known that I have over 11 GB free of storage.

Looks like the issue was pointing to /sdcard/0/ instead of /sdcard/legacy/

Was stumped on this for awhile, my backup location was pointing to /storage/emulated/0/TitaniumBackup and kept hitting this error. Changing it to /sdcard/TitaniumBackup fixed the problem. Thanks.
I realized only today, that perhaps from December, many apps, but not all, do not save longer their data in the memory space assigned to them by Android in the internal SD.
For example, if I make a save with Titanium Backup, I get a msg type "insufficient disk space, broken up" or if I try a backup of efs and imei with EFSBackup, do not get any error, but in designated folders there is no file.
If within the folder where Wathsapp saves its crypt files, these are firm in December, although I have old messages with visible and usable images.
ColorNote instead saves its backup regularly.
The apps are endless, everyone has his own, and so I'm not here to make the list. I would just try to understand the reason for this serious anomaly.
Of course I have the root and apps are allowed.
Help please. . .
Hi there,
I am on lineage-16.0-20190918-nightly-klte-signed + open_gapps-arm-9.0-mini-20190921, it is a fresh install.
I have downloaded WhatsApp App from Google Play and I was prompted to recover my backup from Google Drive, when I click OK I get:
Not enough space
Couldn't restore messages. Free up 465MB of space on your phone's internal storage to restore.
Obviously, I have more than 11GB available in the internal storage and an almost empty SanDisk SD Card 32GB.
Now, I cannot find anywhere a solution for this issue.
Also, I copied both my 'Phone' and 'Card' folders on my PC (in addition to the GoogleDrive backup) before upgrading to Lineage, I see in both folders a 'WhatsApp' folder with 'backups' + 'database' + 'media' subfolders.
If I cannot restore the backup from Google Drive, how could I restore the same from my PC?
I tried to move the Whatsapp folder to my SD Card, but it does not look like it is enough to see the content in WhatsApp.
Thoughts?
Alex
I think I know why it does not restore my backup, I have realized that the 'Internal Shared Storage' is not accessible, let me explain...
In my S5, if I go to Storage >> Device Storage - I see 5.24GB used of 16.00 GB - however, if I take a screenshot and try to save it, I get:
can't save screenshot due to limited storage space
This is probably the reason why I get issues to restore my whatsapp backup.
If I connect the phone to my PC, I can see the Internal Shared Storage folder icon, but there is no value, I should see 5.24GB used of 16.00 GB - in fact I cannot save anything on it from my PC either.
How do I resolve this issue?
Bug?
Thank you,
Alex
Anybody??
