where can I get the O2 ROM ? English ?
I have an O2 Magician but in German and I wanted to have it in English.
I try several ROM like WWE but no one come with this nice O2 Front Menu
can someone help me.
I lookin the XDA FTP but do not know wich one to choose

The O2 application can be downloaded from the server -
I do not advise the use of it though because if you want to get rid of it you need to hard reset the unit

I remembered what the program name is called:
it is called "O2 active" and it is a CAB you can download. It is somewhere on the ftp server. Also, it is somewhere on this forum in a number of posts (use the search), I know because I was looking for it before

The only way to get rid of this "bug" is to do a hard reset

I try to download the O2 mini ROM from the O2 web site Hong Kong they have 2 version English and Chinese but you need a valid EMEI in order to sign in to there web site and be able to download
Where else can I get the O2 ROM ??

PS: If I get to install the O2 Active I don't mind to do I hard reset in case I wanted to remove it. But since I'm looking like a dog to get it, I don't think I will remove it so soon.

no it isn't that simple, it gifs errors and i don't get program files stopped

It's for XDA Mini, I found this into XDA FTP //Magician/Extended_Roms/O2Mini_GER_1.12.144/AUI_install.ARM_Build37.CAB
But look :
its in german because you picked it from the GER directory :roll:

As I was surfing the net. I came across this O2 image and was wondering whether it is possible to have the same by some utility or another..
that is the O2 Active UI.
Pretty unesufull if you are not a O2 subscriber.

Yeah, beleive me, you don't want it! As with most of the apps written by phone companies, it's badly written, a resource hog, and offers very little functionality. The first thing I do when I hard reset or rom upgrade is to uninstall it.

Trust me it's awful!! It's the first thing I get rid of whenever I've upgraded / hard-reset. It's very slow, very counter-intuitive, not to mention useless if you want to change your today wallpaper.

Thanks for the link. I've downloaded the file. The q now is, since it was designed for O2 members in the UK. Will it work for my in the UAE? I mean are all the connection strings and other stuff restricted to that region?
I really needed a battery plug-in for my compact and really didn't want to buy one, so I extracted the install.arm from my XDA IIs, badly and unprofessionally hacked it, and then produced this file, which actually installed and worked fine, however I have no idea what else it changed as yet, so consider using at your own risk!!
Would be great if someone could improve upon this!

there is an extROM from O2 xda mini (GER) on ftp, i just installed it a few days ago. the battery plugin is included, works fine.

Yeah I made the hack cus I couldn't find it either, but to be honest I didn't look very hard, and also because I am not on O2 but on T-Mobile, and I didn't want a load of O2 customizations. Hacking it seemed like a better way to limit my risk. Just my 2 cents, whatever works for you.

So, you hard reset your device, you do the softreset to avoid all the branding rubbish and .... your phone won't work because you don't know the password to the internet connection settings and so on.
Question is: where can I find the t-mobile settings, web and walk included?

There is a website I found recently called Google.com . It's some kind of search engine. If you enter "t-mobile uk gprs" and hit search it comes up with loads of links. not sure if the first one helps. Try it out.

Ah-ha. You must feel like a big man now.
Plus, you're wrong, they are not that easy to find. Looking at the first links on the search string you gave, they all list the username for the t-mob connection as being 'user', whereas mine is 't-mobile'.

Hi guys, thanks very much for all the replies!
Signed_UNI_TMO_Connection_112100.CAB did the trick. I didn't seem to need the other file (MMS settings). The only other file I had to fish out of the extended rom is the long_dtmf one. If you don't put that on and try to dial a number, the phone hangs on keypresses :lol:
I'll let you know if I see any other required cab I might have missed. So far the phone is behaving slightly faster - not as big of a difference as I've seen on the O2 branded ones (which hurt from all the crap 02 leaves on them).

if U want to not install branding rubbish, after calibrating touch screen, ppc starts installig. U've got some 3seconds to softreset(small black hole below usb connector) press it and trick is done. Other way use ext_rom unlocker (www.buzzdev.net) remove or move (move is better, there are gprs,mms and other settings in .cab files, U'll figure it out which of them U need) all **** from ext_rom and hard reset
Ok guys I have a certain issue that wasn't really an issue until I switched from Cingular Blue (AT&T) to Cingular. Before when I was with Cingular blue and I received an MMS with lets say a picture attachment of 32k. I would downloaded the full size pic with no problems.
Now with cingular If i have the same scenario when I download the MMS pic the file shrinks to 4-10k basically the picture downloads but now its small and I dont get to enjoy it in my big screen . I have set all the settings from cingular and this was happening with my Imate Jamin and was hoping it would have gone away with my new Tytn but the problem still persists. Any suggestions??

I had the same issue when I bulldozed my Wizard and didn't do any of the customizing CAB's. Probably the same issue with the TyTN.
I have a custom CAB file I made with the reg tweaks for the Wizard. I'll post the keys if you want them.
Also, not familiar with the TyTN as far as what carriers are carrying it: is Cingular one of them?

The CAB I've attached has the Cingular MMS settings I extracted from several Cingular extended ROM CAB's.

I put them on my Tytn and the MMS fuction works perfectly by downloading the full size of the message but I have found on my unit it for some reason gets rid of some fucntions in on the Camera. It gets rid of my flash completly. I've hard reset it 5 times making sure its the CAB files and it for is. If theres anything suggestions im open.

same issue here...
is there any way (registry modification?!?) to get the camera flash back?
I think theres an option under the MMS account settings to download the original size file from the server.

mind checking on our account status now and again.
I've just started to venture in to the world of the custom roms for the Rodium
and noticed they did not have this little handy app.... so with out any further ado this is for yoU

ps: This has only been tried and tested on Touch-IT Rhodium 6.5-23053
so please let me know if you are having any issue with this app on any other ROM

Thank you for the appreciation sorry i could not do something(i tried to use File Editor Suite to edit it the .exe but, was only able to edit the icons. I try to hex edit the .exe but i was lost..
IF ANYONE KNOWs HOW TO FIX THIS(I think some how thorough hexing it)PLEASE FEEL FREE TO INLIGHIN METhanks.

Yes please someone fix this. I went into regi files with total commander but I can't figure out which ones call T-Mobile to retrieve the info

I installed your my account cab and it reads "Unable to retrieve account info".
I uninstalled, soft reset and reinstalled it to try again but it does not work
I can't think of anything why it would not work.

Does the My Account program use the SIM card to call T-Mobile? Maybe something is missing from my SIM.....like a number??? My SIM card has the #646# (Check my minutes) and (check text usage)... Does the My Account use that?

No problem,
One way to find out.. If its your SIM or not... Flash to another ROM and see if MyAccount works.. Use any one, mine or his there basically the same(i extracted mines from the dump of my phone).... Just my taxi was a little faster
