I own a Qtek 2020i - UK Vodafone model. I am looking to upgrade to WM2005 and can only find info about the ROM for the 2020. Does anyone have the link for the 'i' edition of the WM2005 ?
Actually , there is ANY "i" version of wm2005 ...
Windows Mobile is ONLY for himalaya ..

Just to clarify - upon referring to an 'i' version I am meaning is there a version for the Qtek 2020i / Andes / xda2i or whatever other name it maybe know as depending on your manufacture.
I am NOT referring to the Qtek 2020 or XDA2 or Himalaya
or will WM2005 work on any Pocket PC phone ?

There is no luck to try, there is no WM2005 for anything other than the HTC Typhoon smartphone, or HTC Himalaya PPC Phone.
If you try on any other devices, it will not work, simple.

I want to ask something!
I have Qtek 8020 (it's like SP3i) and it has wmp 9 on it.
I was wondering if i can have wmp 10 on my phone like
Audiovox SMT5600, dopod 565 and 575.
I' ve asked Qtek service in Greece and they said that they don't
know when they are going to release the firmware that has
wmp 10.
So, does anybody know if this is possible?
Maybe a hack on Qtek rom?

also Qtek 8020 is not a pda it's a smartphone they cant use programs compiled for pda's as they use a different type of cpu
There are no ROM tools that work with smartphone ROM images. So you cannot cook ROMs yourself.

I've notice that the phone speaker quality is lower than WM2003.
is it possibile to increase the speaker quality as we can have with wm2003?

The current wm2005 it's only for xda2, maybe you can use RomEdit and try to change the Model Number or something else.

I installed WM5 on the Imate pocket pc phone edition ( Himalaya , Qtek2020, XDA II..etc) & it's working very fine.
I modified the rom image to the CDL operator , using the er2003edit , I updated the radio to version 1.18 too in the same process.
Of course I lost the customization in the ext rom , I have an arabic customised ext rom,it was not compatible with the new OS.
Nevermind , I'm thinking of unlocking the extrom & use the additional space

be carefull that a qtek 2020 is a xda2 and a qtek2020i its not a xda2

i wanted to buy one of QTek 2020 devices and upgrade it to WM6 but i donno what's the difference between the Himalaya Devices and the Alpine Devices? Why can Himalaya (Qtel 2020) be upgraded to WM6 and Alpine (Qtek 2020i) cann't (although 2020i is supposedly newer).
How do i know the difference?

im certain tmobile in the uk at least offer an official rom update for this device! as do o2.
However upon installing this onto the device it turned out is was wm2003, the liars!
With all due respect for all previous posts i found an WM5 Rom for MDA compact, which in the best case scenario will work on i-mate Jam / Magician...
