What about the other settings can you confirm that they work flawlessly as well ? Or we just have to stick with the 180x240?
Hi ram,
Havent confirmed it yet for the other settings but i cant seem to increase the resolution beyond 180x240...
I forgot to mention also that when taking vids using the above tweak, the vid is jerky at first then plays smoothly after around 5 secs...
So I played around and it seems that the the key below needed to be changed:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Pictures\Camera\OEM\Video Profile\3\VideoBufferingDepth
I just added another zero (0) to the key making the value:
200000000
instead of:
20000000
Hello jenellej,
Thank you my friend for the precious infos :wink:
very nice
PC (240x320) in video mode
i try to change my video profile with this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Pictures\Camera\OEM\VideoProfile\3]
"VideoType"=dword:00000002
"Height"=dword:00000140
"Width"=dword:000000F0

"VideoAudioFileSizePerSecond"=dword:00016900

"VideoPropertyName"="_VBRQUALITY"
"VideoPropertyVT"=dword:00000003

Increase camera frames per second
This tweak will let you increase the frames per second of the video camera to make more fluent movies:
HKey Local Machine\Software\HTC\Camera\ReParam\MP4Large (or Medium or Small).
Change the FrameRate value
in HKey Local Machine\Software\HTC\Camera there are a lot of options for the camera capture , framerate, bitrate, time to write and much more..
what sort of value will it work?
But, Wizard have only small and medium capture options!
Wonderfull if can capture as large (320*40)... but I think is not possible because have a low CPU speed.
the standard value is 10.. i have heard that above 19 it is laggy .. so i have it on 19 frames, and i think the high option for capture video can be unlocked in some kind of way in the registery.
cpu speed is one thing but I think that memory speed can also be bottleneck for better quality video...
less frames and better video quality should be no problem, only thing is how to get it unlocked. im still trying. anyone interested
Newbie Question
Is there a limit on the video lengths that the Wizard/K-Jam/MDA/Qtek9100's can record up to? Or can it record unlimited lengths of video as long as there is memory space to save it to....?
on the wizard it is unlimited; depending on your memory space. if you take a look at the registery you can change a lot of things, i think you can even set a limit
take a look here "HKey Local Machine\Software\HTC\Camera" with a registery editor, if u guys don't have one, i can post it. or any other apps with ©®á©K$. :lol: just keeping the PDA scene alive. :shock:
can someone PLZ make and send me a backup of his HTC Wizard working "HKey Local Machine\Software\HTC\Camera" whole registery folder. (export option) i F***** up my registery trying to tweak it without making a backup of it now i can't use my camera :shock: :shock: :shock:
Here you go, Hey is ther a way maybe you can get it to focus more
i reinstalled my rom lost all my tweaks.. but o well the cam is working. ~hmm i had done something and my audio was gone and i couldnt open any settings as well, anyway thnx . i have a t-mobile camera fix wich disables the blue camera snow effect and maybe focus fix. ill send it

I'd like to see that. I hate the quality of the camera. If you have something to make it better I can't wait.
2 different t-mobile camera patches ( they really work )
this one is older :lol:
it is very weird but not all wizards have the same camera quality, i don't mean that qtek 9100 is different than a mda vario, but sometimes even the same variant. i have a mda vario (latest qtek rom with camera patch) and it takes good pictures, a friend of mine has the same phone rom and patch and his pictures are VERY blurry compared to mine.
this seems to work. How can i see the difference?
Thank you! My camera quality in low light was horrible! It works great now.

New version....
I played with my cousins htc apache/Sprint 6700 before i got my 8125 and one of my favorite things about the camera was the panoramic mode which allowed you to stich up to three pictures together right on the camera to create a nice landscape picture. I figured since the wizard and apache are basically the same that the wizard would have this feature as well but much to my dissapointment it doesnt. Is there anything out there that will add this feature to the wizard? Im not that familiar with registry edits but it seems like something could be copied from the apaches registry to add to the wizard and make this feature available. Thanks for the help
anyone?

that's a good question, I would like to know the answer too.
I'd like to see an implement for this!
oh that would be so awsome plus it would make the camera a lil more fun to play with considering the quality isn't too much to brag about (both still photos and video mode) :?
anyone have an actual solution for this...it has to be possible
Just a initial Hint: Registry edit
I have an Artemis.
Following the kind of reasoning http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=292560
post #7
I found in my registry that profile 6 (P6) had also the entry
"enabled" set to 0.
I set it to 1... and the panoramic icon appeared in the sequence of modes of the camera.
I has also specific settings like "left to right", "number of stitches"...
Unfortunately I could not make it work. May be it was because I did not know how to operate this mode.
Any one had discovered / tampered with this or had it already activated.
Any ideas on how to make it work?
Just tried to do the same thing, got a dupe of Burst mode...
Which OS do you have installed?
My SO version
Artemis (HTC P3300) Spanish
WM5 5.1.342 (build 15096.3.0.0)
In the other thread that I open on this in the Artemis forum others have reported a different behavior that I found in mine... they achieved to build a panoramic pic but then the camera exited. Mine did not exit but just took a normal photo.
It is probably disabled because of being on development.
Nevertheles, it would be great if we could get the soft from those other devices in which it is in operation.
Regards
Well, my Ameo arrived this morning, and I've been busy installing all my usual software. Loving it so far...
I've installed TCPMP 0.72RC1, but i'm getting very jerky playback with avi files which play ok on my Universal. The sound is ok, but i'm getting about 1 frame per second, and going fullscreen makes it give up completely.
Also, with TCPMP running, but no file loaded, I get flickering streaks across the centre of the screen.
Anyone know what's going on here, and how I can solve it?
Thanks in advance.
Edit - problem now solved - see other thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1178850#post1178850

Hmm, the homepage is down, and so is the mirror at picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/
I've attached the cab file which I found in my Activsync folder, but it seems I didn't save the whole installer.
See if it works, but you'll still need to find the plugins for it if you want to use the aac codec.
Turn off Smooth Zoom and Acceleration under video optons.
I had same thing on X7500, under video, switch to direct framebuffer, thats all...
Is it possible to make the video recording on the HTC Wizards camera into full screen? maybe a registry tweak?
Try Coolcamera... really nice software!

i have coolcamera, i get 2 fps when saving to my storagecard, and 5-6 when i save to my phone. it records full screen, but since i get low fps it sucks
full screen would mean 320×240 resolution, while the wizard only records smoothly til the 176 pixel format, if you have coolcamera you can set it to 176×144 and full screen, you'll get the usual frame count by writing to a reasonably fast memory card
ok since you guys can't seem to answer my question just nevermind.
the video quality at 176 is crappy, i use to get higher fps saving to my card then one day it stopped and now its slow. i just want to know if the standard camera app on the mda is able to record a higher resolution of video then 176x144 OR if i can make the video take up the entire screen instead of that little square in the middle. thats all i want.
Which phone are you using? If you use 8125 with coolcamera, you'll get 11 fps by 240x300... Trying to overclock it would give you better results... Trying to clear ram would help too(use pocketmechanic) and trying to save it too rom is better.
AND ya.. TURN OFF THE NIGHT MODE... really gives you bad results!
I have an HTC AT&T Pure running duttys R10 rom.
everythings great but in camera mode I have no macro mode (little flower) for shooting up close pictures. I've searched all over this forum and the web and have found no mention of a macro mode for this phone's camera. Except review mentions of "with macro mode for up close shots" etc.
With a 5 megapixel camera I would figure that such a mode would be possible but I cannot find it or a way to make it appear.
any ideas? am I just asking too much of my Topaz?
So just like everywhere else? Nobody has any idea?
My personal view is that the auto focus does a very good job of focusing at around 6-8 cm from the subject. Thus not needing the macro (flower icon). My Samsung WB1000 focuses only very slightly nearer than 6cm and thats in macro mode but dues to wide lens on the unit it coin still seems further away.
Attached are photos, infact I would say that the Diamond 2 gets closer to the coin but does not hold as much detail.
I have not tried this with my DSLR but it would depend on which lens I used.
Diamond 2 photo on the right
To enable Macro Mode navigate in registry to HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\General\MacroMode=>1
OMG!!! sweet.. thx bruce.. ill try that now and see if that works.. or is what im looking for..
EDIT: Seems to be working better. Close up pics are clearer that autofocus.. thx again.
Id say this tread is done.. lol

Sorry, not sure how to force to RAW format.
I just applied Bruces Reg suggestion, and don't see any Macro setting, after resetting. Will it just automatically go to Macro when close up? This site is a great source of info!

It should open the control panel within the software, giving you the flower icon for close ups.
Recheck the key and see if it stayed = 1.
Yes, it stayed at 1. Hmmm. I'll take some close up pics, and see how they come out.
