1) Newest Firmware for XDA IIi
Hi, i just got my IIi today and I don't think my firmware is the latest version:
ROM VER:1.10.00 WWE
ROM Date: 12/24/04
Radio version: 1.00.00
Protocol Ver: 1337.39
ExtRom version: 1.11.124 WWE
If this isn't, can someone please tell me how to upgrade it?

The newest version:

You can download the newest ROM version from the operators website.

That's the same as on my phone, and it's the most up to date version offered by o2

So the newer ROM date/ versions must just be a regional variation?

The 1.11 ROM is an i-mate ROM.
There are a few posts about it scattered about here with links to it, so you can search.
I am running it on my XDA2i now, and it resolves most of the issues with the device, the only one I have is that sometimes it will not reconnect GPRS and you have to turn on, then off the flightmode, or simply soft reset.

Yeah I'm an o2 xda2i owner on the 1.11 i-Mate ROM, and it works fine.

I don't have the Traffic plugin. Ironically I had the free month trial and it ran out a few days before I upgraded to the 1.11 ROM.

Guys-I have been following this thread for awhile since I was skeptical about upgrading my 02 XDA IIi with a Imate PDA II Rom.
Steps I followed:
1) Using Activesync I did a full restore
2) Downloaded the Imate ROM and put the extracted files into a folder
3) Downloaded the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and dropped it in the same folder
4) Run the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe twice since the first time you get an error!
5) Reset my xda IIi
6) Did a restore from Activesync
Now my XDAIIi reads
Rom version: 1.11.00 WWE
ROM Date: 01/27/05
Radio Version: 1.03.00
Protocol version: 1337.42
ExtROM version: 1.10.124

I just bought my XDA IIi from O2 Germany last week:
ROM Version: 1.11.01 GER 01/27/05
Radio Version: 1.03.00
Protocol Version: 1337.42
ExtROM: 1.11.161 GER
So the radio version appears to have been updated too on the XDA IIi compared to what you guys are running.

I am mixed up
I downloaded the PDA2 firmware from the link above to install on my XDA III but i get an error saying invalid country code
Did i miss soemthing? Do I need any special tools to flash my phone?

To upgrade, the following worked for me:
1. extract PDA2_WWE_11100_144_10300_ship.exe, use winzip, to a directory (e.g. c:\upgrade)
2. edit RUU.conf in c:\upgrade by adding following line:
[CHECKCEID_TYPE]=1
3. copy upgrade util (MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe from ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/Tools/MaUpgradeUt_noID.zip) to c:\upgrade
4. Soft reset pocket pc
5. place in cradle and connect (guest or otherwise partnership)
6. run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe - it will start and then fail
7. without resetting pocket pc run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe again
8. it will run to completion this time.

I am in the process of upgrading as we speak.
I would like to add that the first time you run the No id checker it wont fail with an error, it just doent do anything so you will have to kill the process from task manager to run it again.
I will let you know if all goes well.

I have a very big issue now
I tried to restore my STG backup file but active sync said that its a Device missmatch which is logical....
Now what?
I dont have another backup except this backup.stg

It won't take the stg file because the regional settings are different since you upgraded. Change your regional settings under settings to what you had before the rom upgrade! Then Backup
Also to get rid of the Imate Splash Screen download this and install!

I use the latest cooked 02 Rom which has been modified to include Radio ver 1.03. You can download this from the xda-developers FTP. After install and it re-boots, select corp install, enter code 0506 within 3 seconds, the corp ver doesn't install 02 Active UI stuff. To automatically install your Mobile Operater Settings, goto this link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=26463 Download the correct cab, copy to your pda, tap to install GPRS/WAP/MMS.

Hi Dhruv,
I've downloaded both files and run the upgrade. Unfortauntely, it fails at the verification stage where it halts with:-
Error 120:- Country ID Error
Any help?
The reasons why I am upgrading is the phone does not RING when it receives incoming calls. I need to do a soft-reset for it to work. However, after a while, the stupid phone become mute.
I am sick and tired of this buggy unit.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have also solved my "no-ring" tone problem. Apparently it is caused by the Wisbar utility programs that I've installed.

NEW Qtek ROM for the Prophet contains A2DP...

I have a HTC Prophet/QTek S200 with a German O2 Firmware 2.9.4.120
and i want update to 2.9.7.106 with the "RUU_Prophet_2090724_20907106_020720_QtekWWE_Ship" Rom
but befor the Update starts comes This ERROR massege :
ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID
This Update Utility cannot be used for your PDA Phone .
Please check Update Utility

I could be wrong, but I don't think this ROM contains A2DP, nor is it a new ROM.
I'm running the following on my S200, and it doesn't have A2DP:
ROM version: 2.9.7.24 WWE
ROM date: 2/9/06
Radio version: 02.07.20
Protocol version: 413.1.03
ExtROM version: 2.9.7.106
Looking at the filename of the ROM in the post at the beginning of this thread, the filename is structured like so:
RUU Prophet [ROM version] [ExtROM version] [Radio Version] QtekWWE Ship.exe
As you can see, the blanks all fill in with the same numbers I'm already running on my out-of-the-box S200. (I haven't made any changes to the ROM. It's running AKU 2.0, but no A2DP yet.)

However I realised that with all the ROMs around, it might be easier to just make a topic that will assist people in choosing which ROM to use. You can find your ROM version in Start -> Settings -> System -> Device Information (after "ROM version:"). You can find your Build in Start -> Settings -> System -> About (second line, inbetween brackets)
the AKU version are the last 3 pieces seperated by a dot

I've also installed the ROM, and still have bootloader 1.00 installed. There's another file you need to unpack within the main one, called something like UNI_TMNL_130115_130233_11003_WWE_Ship.exe and you can then update as you would without the bootloader 1.01.

Tried that, but it wouldn't boot the normal ROM. Only way I could show *anything* on my screen was by holding the BL key combination :S

You still have to use the no-id tool, and install from the bootrom, but it works :-D

It would be worth adding a poll to see how many ppl are using which rom and they can post the reason as well. Will be helpful for a newbie on which rom to chose

Agree with Andy. The info on experienced users view would be useful for new users AND old users who get tired to keep on flashing to new roms. Each round of rom update consumes hours to reinstall various apps, reenter passwords and update app settings.

I agree...a thread like this needs to become a sticky....perhaps include the download url and any significant info about the rom as issues arise with it too.

I'm about to upgrade and confused as to which Rom to go with?
The list is ace, but it doesn't help anyones choice of which one to choose? I'm with O2, which feature packed fast running Rom would you recommend?

4 d dopod, d versions posted r what i have & i believe/agree they're d latest.

some obvious questions:
1) Can i use any ROM on my Qtek9000 or i have to use only the ones that are for Qtek9000?
2) Can i mantain language file (italian in my case) in some manner while i'm installing for example the JWright ROM?
3) I have a big problem with bluetooth and TomTom (it is very slow to connect with the GPS external antenna) even if i've upgraded the ROM in april. It can be resolved with some different ROMs?

Im just double checking here, but the latest official imate jasjar rom is the: JASJAR_WWE_13076_164_10900_wwe_ship
And this rom supports push email doesnt it?
I know I updated the rom when I purchased this device in march and I thought there was another rom release in that period but I could only find the old 2005 rom and the one mentioned above on the i-mate ftp...
