Can XDA2 OR iMate be changed to CDMA? (usa: 1900Mhz)

Can the bandswitch.exe app be used to enable this radio interface?
thanks,
[email protected]
I believe that xda2 is triband so can do 900/1800/1900.
If it can do 1900, is this accessible using the bandswitch.exe ?
Also is it the same 1900 used in the states (usa) ?
[So if someone was travelling EU to USA, one could call up this
opened up tab section on the pda and then select something
compatible with either system....EU=gsm and USA=cdma. ??
XDA II is tri-band GSM, w/c you can use anywhere in the world who has GSM coverage. CDMA is a different kind of network. I believed that is US/North America the provider using it are Sprint and Verizon, if I am not mistaken. GSM network are used by T-mobile, Cingular and now AT&T is converting also from TDMA to GSM.
And the answer is NO, you cannot use XDA II to a CDMA network. You have to change hardware parts of it. BUT yes you can used it to 1900 network in the US w/c is GSM.

Hope this help!

Right. Within a few years however there will be phones where the entire radio transceiver is handled in software, and where changing system is indeed just a software upgrade.
(And then with some extra software your phone could also be a police scanner, family radio, marine radio, GPS receiver, Iridium/Thuraya/Inmarsat phone, GSM jammer/base station/IMSI-catcher, spread spectrum low-probability-of-detection military radio or celldar unit. Fun!)

Can I use Dual Mode GSM/WCDMA?

I got a JASJAR. I'm useing a GSM SIM-Card. Now, I want to add a new CDMA account to use 3G-service. Is it possible?
And How to do it?
I dont think its possible... Since JasJar doesnt support dual sim u can use both the sim at the same time... If u want to use both the services like GSM or WCDMA then u will have to have those services in the same SIM itself.
i believed that 3g in all of europe was UTMS based and not
WCDMA based

WCDMA and UMTS are the same thing. WCDMA is the radio-technology used, UMTS is more the general name for the whole system.
no
CDMA orginates from the old analog system which were in europe called NMT

[Q] T-Mobile 3G <-> Telcel Mx

Hello everyone, im from mexico, i just bought a DVP from T-Mobile, i think is unlocked cause when inserted my sim card from "Telcel" i can make calls, send/receive sms, etc, always have "E" letter besides signal metter, however i would like to use "3G" network, as i found on this forum seems to "E" means edge, and T-mobile is not compatible with telcel 3g, is this correct? just want to confirm this and i want to know if ATT version is compatible to 3G from telcel, thanks in advance, BR
As far as I know Telcel uses the 850 band for 3G. The T-Mobile version uses 900/1700/2100 and hence wont support the Telcel 3G. The ATT version has the 850/900/2100 band and hence theoretically should support the Telcel 3G. It is advisable that you confirm with someone in your area if the ATT version works, because as per specifications it should work. The TMobile wont work as it does not support the 850 band
Thank you
Thanks, very clear and direct, also quick answer, so if i understand correctly its kinda hardware diference, right? so no way to convert or configure an aws to pcs or backwards.. thank you!

It's not possible, at least on phones. Each specific submodel likely has different amps for whatever bands that submodel supports. They're (very likely) physically different.

S5360L band changing ?

hi
i have here few PCS of S5630L
its same phone but bands are not the same.
HSDPA 7.2 850/1900MHz
anyone think it can be changed via software ? or its a hardware issue ?
if so can i change bands filters ?
thx
anything ? anyone ?
it can never be done,
it is the internal radio which transmits and receives frequencies,
which is a hardware thing,
if i got you correctly S530L is CDMA and you want a GSM band

This model is not cdma, irs gsm model fits to some countries like brazil and argentina.
so this phone works only on quad gsm 2g network with no, but on 3g networks it works only on 850/1900 and i need 2100
On older nokia phones we changed anttena duplexer and bands filters and it did the job.
On newer phone like i9000 we can change bands via programing menu.
I just wonder if it can be done even with hardware changes.
Thanks
Anyone ??
I tried *#*#197328640#*#* but not working

2g - ok, 3g - does not work

Hello, my mobile phone does not want to find 3g/WCDMA network. With 2g conections everthing is ok, but when I choose "only WCDMA mode" It can not find network (on both sim cards). I am sure I am in area with strong 3g signal
I want to know it is software or hardware problem? Does mobile phone has diferent modems for 2g and 3g connections with different antennas and different modems firmware. Or maybe it is one module?
Note 3 neo 7502 dual sim
Thanks very much!
It depends on where you live in the world and if your phone has the right bands for 3g. It may be designed for UK and you try to use in US and if the bands do not match for your provider(s) it will not work.
This phone is designed for Ukraine (UCRF). And I am using it here, It have label in Ukrainian language on the body and also on the box.
I am sure it sertificated for Ukraine, and band are right, (HSPA+ (850/900/1900/2100MHz - it is information from box)
But something is broken. I want to know it is software of hardware problem.

Are your providers doing 3g. Contact them and make sure. They may have to issue you replacement SIM Cards. Make sure they have that active on your plans.
