Which ROM is best (in terms of Stability, Performace and Features) for Magician?? Is it I-Mate, O2, Qtek or MDA?? Please put your comments to get a feel for everybody for best ROM in the world for Magician.
Q teck 1.11 or qteck 1.12
I have an imate jam and i have had qteck and imate roms and imate always has more buggs and slower
i've been using 1.12 for a few days, i noticed less echo, and tomtom 5 works good (so far)
it looks faster for me, but not sure
Please put which ROM make and version not the version alone...
It doesn't matter whether it's Qtek, iMate, Vodafone or whoever. AFAIK the differences are in the Extended_ROM dir only (ok, they'll put their boot logo in it, but that's it).
So I sit and wait for 1.12 in German language - I don't care for the manufacturer.
1.12 Imate version for me Faster....no bluetooth problems.....and no echo! BTW tomtom 5 works like a dream
I have currently upgraded to Imate 1.12 WWE . Going smooth so far, no issues.
1.12 wwe , extended Rom 1.12 arabic ,

I would like to know which device you own? XDA I or XDAII? Cause I think the 4.01.12WWE is only for XDA I. I don't think you can flash the ROM on the XDAII with this since the hardware is a bit different. If you own the XDAII and you wish to do a ROM upgrade, you can consider to upgrade with the 1.72WWE which should give you better battery life and BT option. However, you will void your manufacturer warranty if you are using different ROM to upgrade the device (pretty much what all manufacturers will say :? ).

AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! im going crazy, i cant decide wheter to upgrade my o21.66wwe to 1.72. i don't know wich ia better of this two version (1.66 and 1.72) What application will be remove i i upgarde my o2 1.66 to 1.72?

if you happy & satisfy with your rom !!, why do you upgrade????.
you have the latest rom from O2, upgrade to 1.72 official rom (imate or qtek), you will loose 'auto config' program (gprs must be setup manually) and cannot installed 'O2 CONNECT' (afaik).
but if you decide to upgrade 1.72, try this :

does anyone know where i can find the official qtec 1.12 rom update.
i bought the phone from buymobiles.net and i am on o2 in the uk.
there is a rom on buymobiles.net, but it looks like the 1.11 rom.
is there a website for qtec in the UK, like in other countries for instance www.qtec.sh

I have just switched roms ,out of curiosity rather than anything else from as stated in the title
Now , I let it install fully , installed all the software back on it , and it ABSOLUTELY FLIES !
What gives ? this rom is ancient evidently - so how come it is so much better than the T-mobile one
not that I'm complaining , mind
Interesting.. I had the tmobile ROM as well and upgraded to the Qtek 9100. I guess anything is better than the Tmobile ROM.

Hi There, Wondering if any of you have done a comprehensive comparison between the 2 ROMS to share with the rest. From my understanding, the newest ROM for imate is as follows (Both WWE ROMS) (If i'm not mistaken) :-

I've not tried the newest Jamin ROM and whatever comparison you guys have done, it'd be great to know of your experiences.
I've tried the previous imate ROM and i've found the QTEK ROM quicker than the imate one. QTEK ROM has less add-on software like skype etc., but other than that, i'm not sure how else we can compare it. Can anyone else who has tried both shed some light on this topic? Is the new imate ROM better than the previous? Thanks!
This would also interest me so much. From what i've heard so far is that the qtek s200 rom is faster than imate rom. Could somebody pleas give us more details on this and maybe, why.

I've actually tried both. It is somewhat true. QTEK ROM is zippier. However, i found that memory leaks were more rampant on the QTEK ROM. imate is a little more stable IMO. I'm not sure why. I'm currently using the latest i-mate ROM and because its released later, somehow it 'feels' better. I bypassed the software i did not want though (skype, backgammon etc.)

I tried both the Qtek and the Jammin rom. I also found that the Qtek was faster however, the memory leak situation was worse than the Jammin.
I do have one problem however. I have a 2 --> 1 sim card adapter and on the original ROM I was able to use it fine, but I have been having problems with the Newer Roms. Has anyone else encountered this problem or is my adapter shot?

I just got a new qtek s200 (i-mate jamin) from vodafone and i was wondering what's the best and newest rom available.
in the imate's ftp i downloaded JAMin_WWE_213923_2139123_022021_ship.zip, is this the latest rom available? is it better to use another rom like dopod?

As you mentioned, you saw the last i-mate ROM in the FTP.
Many people said (PDAMobiz and also here) that the Dopod ROM is the more stable and better than others. I tryed both and now I'm testing the Spanish i-mate ROM. I can not tell you wich one is better, at least for me, find much better the i-mate one, but I'm sure you can find a lot of tester and they are going to give you another opinion.
Try it and choose the better one for you, then, share you opinions!
