I can't change the start menu items, I can't add shortcuts or remove shortcuts to and from start menu...I mean, the changes from editing menus did not appears immediately in start menu...
It needs soft reset to refresh the start menu...strange...
This is really weird!!! :?
for me, when I change the menu items, the changes are reflected immediately!!!
What ROM version you have?
When I hard reset my xda2, the problem was gone...but after installing many2 apps,it happens again...dunno which apps cause the problem though...my rom is 1.60.00
This also happened to me too!!!!
I think the problem is that there is a limit to the number of icons that you can have in the start menu. Adding any further shortcuts after this limit has been reached will have no effect!
I don't think so...Because I have only 5 items on my start menu...
and, I found any other problem too...the new installed apps doesn't display the shortcut in Programs Folder (start>programs), It needs soft reset to refresh the programs folder, or you can simply enter games folder and go to programs folder again to refresh it...
Gotcha!! I have found the answer for this problem...the start menu freezed and need a soft reset to refresh it when you use a theme that not fully compatible with WM2003...just use the theme that fully support WM2003 and the problems gone!
PsShutXp icon disapear after a soft or hard reset.
So i have to restart application in order to enable the icon in the today screen.
Is there any way to reload it automaticaly after reset?
It, definetely, disappears after hardreset. But it should not disappear after soft reset. Mine is working flawlessly both in my ipaq and PDA2. I think you are having a registry conflict or sth that I can have no comment about it.
After installing WA2/WAD trial versions, I have lost the bluetooth icon in the bottom tray. After removing the programs, the icon has not reappeared. Does anyone know how to get the icon back?
Ya I'm getting the same problem too...
Sometimes soft reset will fix it, but there must be a better way....
This is a common problem due to many process many programs and today plugin loaded at yr magician boot from soft-reset. reduces # of startup process and today plugin will solve the problem. I use a program called "No Plugins today" solve my problem.
Do a search in this forum and U should found more detail
I have this bar right above my soft keys (calendar and contacts) which is displaying battery status. How can I get rid of it. It is occupying my precious today screen space.
Remove init_tray from windows\startup
see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=276300&highlight=init_tray
That works for the battery status. I have another program which is still showing up there. Is there another place I need to look at?
Try a soft reset. When the device starts up the comm manager bar should have gone.
i think that one appears when u do a bluetooth activesync connection...try disconnecting activesync...if this is the case there must be some reg key to solve it...
Whats the program, then it'll be easier to help you. Its probably in the registry.

What files are in your \Windows\Startup?
resco keyboar
smsclose
xbar
Try removing them (and if this doesn't help, just copy them back).
Also, you may want to check out what additional services are defined in HKLM\Services in the Registry; preferably with SKTools. It may be another place where the right now unknown app is initialized at.
i have removed all from startup folder and still get that application. in services part i have got stk, shall i delete it? or can i set it's isnenable=0 ?
