Use contact SIM - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hi all ,
juste a question
is it possible to use a contact SIM , to dial phonebook entries which are stored on my SIM card?
I notice when you press the Green button to start the phone application then we can call only the contact who are stored on the phone
I use Voice command 1.5 , in order to have more memory in the Rom , it's better to have 20 or 30 contact than 200 or 250 contact
then i have copied only 20 contact from the SIM to the phone , but the problem is when i have to call one of SIM card !
Then the only solution is to use ID caller !
Thanks for a reply

Copy all of the contacts from the SIM to memory. A contact takes so little space that it doesn't really matter if you have 20 or 200 of them.

DTMF tone sending

I am sure you used to be able to do it on the universal but now it seems I cant !!! does anyone know how !!!
I doubt you can send them, but you can enable tones in the phone control panel (I think it's there, but somewhere near there).
That just makes the phone keypad beep lyrical.

my old nokias can do it and so can my GF's samsung D500 !! a very useful option when using 3rd party dialers, I dont understand why this phone cant do it !!!
I always use this feature to send over the calling card PIN number and the destination number so even though I make an international call using phone card I do not need to puch the PIN etc manually. Just record the number into the contacts and use some delays. It works.

I know what you mean but that means I need to change all the international numbers stored in my phone, it would be easier if I could just call the number and then choose the number out of my contacts and send tones !!!
i have the same issue. i use an international caller to dial out to america and on my nokia i would just send the tones of the numbers i wanted to dial. now i have to write them down so i can punch them back into the xda. shame
Assuming I understand your problem correctly, it sounds like the problem is with your calling card provider and not your phone. The Universal, like any other phone, ought to send DTMF tones through in-band audio -- pretty standard stuff. I've tested this with my calling card provider and I'm able to put in my PIN code through DTMF without any problem.
I think that what these guys are describing is the ability, whilst on a call, to say "Send DTMF" and then choose a number from your contacts. This way, you can store your calling card number in one phonebook entry and all your other contacts as normal, then you choose the calling card to dial and then "send" the number for the other contact. However, you usually need to append a "#" with these services and the number needs the international prefix (so USA becomes "001" instead of "+1"). I generally just store two numbers against each name - one normal and one with integrated calling card.
I don't think anyone is saying that they can't manually key in the number mid-call.
That's exactly right, Melty.

CALLER ID not show for numbers/name stored in phone memory

atm my caller id is only working with number/names in the SIM memory..
is there anyway that i can have the contact that stored on the phone (sync outlook) to come up for caller id?
is there a software to patch this prob? o is there i setting i m missing to activate this?
My ROM is the newly updated one in end NOV (with blackberry function).
Using O2mini...
can anyone help me...? ><~~
Sorry, I have no clue on this issue, but I experienced a the similar problem, as my contacts (phone book) grows over time. As it grows, the phone took longer time to search through the phone book before could really display the caller's name. Instead only the number was displayed. Can anybody tweak around with this problem?

here how u goes
Start > Programs > Sim Manager
Wait for the Sim Manager to load all your contacts from Sim. Once done, highlight all the contacts, tap tools menu & select Save to Contacts. It should copy all the selected contact to your phone memory by now.
er.. dont think that was my question/answer..
but thanks for trying to help anyway ^^
I HAVE RESOLVED this problem now:
I think because there was no contact (ZERO) on my sim card memory, for some reason it didnt trigger this funtion.
So what i did to make it work was to make a new contact on the sim card with the number/contact that was also stored in my phone memory, and try call it, i realised it was showing the contact name that i had on the phone memory not the sim (as the number is the same but to distingush i make up differ name). Then i deleted the contact on my sim (back to ZERO) and try call again. NOW the caller ID shows up.

how to move contacts from SIM to phone?

how do i move my contacts from my sim card to my phone memory. im using contact breeze and i cant get it to recognize contacts on the sim.
...use simmanager, tap&hold on each contact...
where do i get simmanager?
...it should be embedded in your RAM and programs-menu...
is there an easier way to get multiple numbers for one contact together as one whole contact than having to do it manually. I'm sorry if im not clear. For example if I have a work number, a home number, and a cell number for one person is there an easier way to combine them into one contact than having to do it all manually? thanks for the help.

[Q] actions with sim contacts

Hi
I've a noob question:
Is there a way (maybe an app) to add more than one number, Group numbers, attach an image to a contact I saved on my sim card? I'm able to set these actions on my Gmail or phone contacts but not on my sim contacts.

SIM cards were never designed for those extra features, specially photos.
there's no easy way to save all the extra numbers and pictures of a contact into a SIM card, to use it on different phones, because every phone reads the data differently.
SIM cards only store contact names per single phone number, and your own phone number along with the carrier.
Thanks, lucky there is a copy sim to phone option.
