Hi!
Is it possible (registry or tool) that active sync uses also (or only) the "My Documents" folder on the storage card?
Thanks!

i've tried it and its only one way from server to the device and you
must specify the file exactly...
Maybe somebody has another hint?

What about this: http://www.cassioware.com/cwsync.aspx

!!!HELP!!! Problems installing applications to SD Card :'(

Hi.
I have a serious probelm
When ever I try to install anything to my SD Card through Active Sync, I just end up getting the .CAB file for the install file and whenever I click on it, it installs the program to the Main Storage memory :!:
What I do is this...
I connect my XDAIIi up with my computer and use active sync to sync them both. I just then click on any of the programs that I want to install, and it asks do you want to install blah blah to the default directory (or something like that) I click NO and choose my Storage Card. It then does the above :?
PLEASE could someone help.
I am using an XDAIIi with Active Sync 4. Up until now I have had no problems. I tred downgrading to Active Sync 3.8 but that still did not work.
Am I doing something stupidly wrong???????!!!!!!!
PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HELP!!!!!!
PLEASE!!!!!!
I would greatly appreicate a reply as soon as posible.
Thankyou loads in advance,
Regards,

GURU'S NEEDED!!!
Please does anyone know?? There must be XDAIIi guru's out there somewhere!!!
Ohh..... how I wish I were one
did you try cabinst to install programs from your device to the storage card instead of using MS active sync......... ??
Ah Ha!!! Well done Just got that to work, I was trying to install Visual-IT London maps etc and I think they actually get extracted automatically to .CAB files, I have tried the bacIstall software and it works a treat Thankyou very much.
Cheers.
WHY on earth are these things ever simple?!?!

ActiveSync 4.5 losing connection?

Howdy,
When transferring a file to my device's Storage Card (WM6) over a USB connection using Active Sync 4.5, the connection drops out just after the file copy commences. Only seems to occur when copying files larger than about 1MB. I have had no other issues with the mini-SD card which I am copying to.
Does anyone else experience this or know where I can start troubleshooting the exact problem?
Thanks in advance

Do u know my solution????
I downgraded to 4.2

Good idea mikhe69!
But I thought that ActiveSync 4.5 was a minimum requirement for WM6?

Your right 4.5 is the minimum requirement for the WM6.
I haven't notice that you have WM6 sorry.
Maybe it's some problem with your ROM.
It's a cooked one?
U should go at Start-Settings-connections-USB to PC and deactivate this option. After this reinstall activesync 4.5.Then will work fine
I'm using the offical WM6 ROM for Australia...
And ActiveSync is currently set to 'allow usb connections' - is that what you mean?
My workaround right now is to use PocketRAR to archive up the files in 5MB volumes and transfer them via ActiveSync.
Any other suggestions for transferring files? (I don't have Bluetooth on my laptop/PC)...

I have the same problem too, need help!! anyone knows how to fix this?thanks for any help.
Have you tried disabling file conversion?
Go to Activesync on PC then click Tools -> Advanced Tools -> Edit File Conversion Settings and uncleck the tick box.
If you are trying to copy files from the memory card then the best way is to put the device in Disk Drive mode. Connect device then click Start->Settings->Connection tab->USBtoPC->Disk Drive
I encountered this the other day, I think you can only copy files from the SD card to PC on the phone using active sync.
If however, if you want to copy files from your phone's internal memory, to your PC, i used a differnt program to do this, think it was either called 'My Mobiler' or 'Jeyo Mobile something' so try those programs!
I find ActiveSync to be an extremely poor program, I recommend using 3rd party apps to get full control over your phone!
I tried to use 3rd party application such as my mobiler, still encounter the same problem, any other ways?what the main problem that make this happen?help anyone?

Can't transfer some mp3s from HD2 to PC

Hi!
Just got my TMOUS HD2. I copied some mp3s that i bought at emusic.com to the storage card and listened to them. Worked without problems. But I cannot transfer back some of them using Windows Mobile! One folder seems to be empty, in the other the mp2s are still displayed, but nothing happens when I attempt to copy them.
On the phone, the mp3s are present, I still can listen to them, but I can't move or copy them to another place with Total Commander.
What happened here? Is this a known problem? Couldn't find any help here or with google...
Thanks,
Hannes
Hi, How are you copying the files? Using remote file explorer? And whats the language of your phone?
- Herojit
Hi!
My Phone language is english (unfortunately for me, scnr). I start Windows Mobile and then browse the storage card from there. Is that the remote file explorer? (Sorry, my Win7 is in German)
Hannes
Hi, Are you trying to copy from Storage card to device storage and vice versa?
- Herojit
Yes, I tried to copy from storage card to device. With File Explorer, it does just nothing, with Total Commander, it says "Cannot acces file". When I try to transfer the files to the PC, it does nothing.
Also, i noticed that there is a file named ~hTC******.vin in all the folders that I cannot access. Maybe there is connection?
Hi, I think the file is Drm protected? Any chance for that? Can you check if there is a lock icon displayed on top of the file icon.
- Herojit
Hi Herojit!
No, the files isn't DRM protected (it was from emusic.com, they are all DRM free). It has the ordinary windows media icon.
Yours,
Hannes
Hi Hannes, now I don't see any problem, can you restart the device and copy again, I feel the file is still access by one of the player.
- Herojit
Hi Herojit!
Did that, no change at all. Another weird thing: my computer doesn't display any mp3s at all in the one folder that is having troubles, while I still can play them on the HD2. Another directory shows all the files, but cannot transfer them anywhere. This sucks!
Nobody ever experienced that? :-(
Hannes
From what I understand you're trying to copy those files while connected in "activesync mode".
If that's the case, you want to enable the "disk unit" mode.
If that is NOT the case, then Im clueless
Hi!
I had no transfer mode set up, just ignored that screen all the time. Anyhow, I figured out a practical solution: Windows Media Player was able to fetch all the MP3 from the Phone, even the ones that Explorer couldn't display. So I am quite happy now, but I'd still like to know what is going on with my phone...

The fastest way to do this is to copy everything you need directly from your memory card through card reader.
If you have bluetooth on your PC and have just few photos, you can send them through bluetooth (in any file explorer you use on your HD you should have option like "Send to bluetooth recipient") but this method is very slow...
And of course it is possible to do file transfer through USB cable (via ActiveSync or some other program, but I can't give exact advice, because I use just first two methods )
Third method (via USB) is to enable Data transfer instead Active Sync... Your uSD card will be visible as external disc, and on it you'll see famous DCIM folder which contains pictures...
it so easy
it s0 easy,
first; you have to install windows mobile center to your pc and than conect your phone to pc
