One thing thats really annoying me is that there is no room for a second mobile number in the contacts area.
Is there anyone who has written a fix for this?
thanks
Tim
But there are plenty of other phone# fields to use: Home, Work, Home2, Work 2, Car . . . .

I divert my phone to many different phones during the day (Qtek 2020) and ain't finding it easy.
I find the problem with the PDA is it isn't a very good phone ... I know it's a PDA first - but I'd like it to be good at both.
I've found Mobidial fixes a lot of the problems - however I divert to many different phones during the day and on other phones I'd set up **004*x**5# in speed-dials and quickly dial them as I change.
Problem is you can't dial **004's and *21 type numbers that are stored in Windows Pocket PC ( seems to be a Microsoft limitation )
Any good suggestions (I don't want to type them in every time or use Phones-options/divert as that only really stores one number
New version of mobiDial allows GSM service codes to be stored in speed dials. more details Here
Just wondered has anyone found a solution (maybe with 3rd party software on the XDA Mini) to a problem (more annoyance) I've hated on all mobiles I've ever had:
The problem is if I have 2 separate contacts with the same home telephone number, I've never found a way to specify which name shows up as calling for if that number phones me.
For example I have my mum stored as Maragret McRobie, with her mobile number and home number. I have my dad stored as Robert McRobie with his mobile number and his home number, which is the same as my mum's.
If someone from my mum & dad's house phones my mobile, I want it to show as Margaret McRobie calling, as it's more likely to be her phoning from the house than my dad.
However every mobile I've ever had, including the XDA Mini S, seems to get confused as there are 2 contacts with the same number, and usually just displays the 1st one alphabetically in your Contacts. I think the Wizard behaves by showing the name of the last one you phoned - i.e. if I phoned my mum's mobile more recently than my dad's, if their house phones it shows as my mum. I *think* this is how it works. It's better, but not perfect.
Any way round this, so I can specify explicitly which name will show up?
Cheers
None that I know of.
But if your Dad hardly ever phone you from home why don't you just delete the home number from his entry.
Yah, all mobile phones don't handle shared numbers very well. Your lucky its even showing you a name, because nokias won't show anything (just the number) if you have it saved under two names.
I'd suggest creating a new contact just for the home number and name it "Mom and Dad house" or something along those lines.
guyz, do u know that old WM 6.0 can identify the private caller, and when I upgraded my HTC to 6.1, I can't identify private caller . . .

I mean, I want to get their number when they calling me like older WM 6.0 version. . . .

Tell me your experience when you land
Speaking of which, Private callers are operator dependent, right?
Which means, if someone private calls you, your operator will send a 'private' string to your phone.

Hi guys,
I was searching a lot in the web and I found that some persons have the same issue (not in this forum), basically when you receive a call, you could not see the whole picture, you just see an small part of the picture, and if you dont have any photo assigned, the issue is still there, see the screenshot:
When you perfom the call, there is no issue at all and the picture is showed perfectly.
I already performed a Hard Reset and the issue persist.
My Moto X Has an Stock android 4.2.2 since is an unlocked device, no carrier customization.
Any idea how to solve this issue??
Thanks in advance!!
I have some issues too with the stock dialer.
I have sync my contacts, but when someone call me, still appears his/her number and don't the photo and the name.

I had that issue too but I fix it, all my numbers were stored like this: +54911XXXXXXXX. +54 code for Argentina, 9 (to call to a mobile if you are outside the country but still works if you are inside the country, 11 is for my city, BsAs.
In order to fix the issue, I deleted all 9 and spaces and dashes, some number were stored like this +54 911 XXXX-XXXX.
Good luck with your issue.

Hi,
I posted this on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49978192
as I was utterly ignored (probably my fault) I am reposting here, hopefuly is both the right place and it gets the right visibility.
--->
I am sure if this relates to this post, but as I unlocked the phone using this method I hope someone else can help.
I follow the steps listed here to unlock the phone and I am using it with NET10 in USA. My SPH-L720 has a NET10 card in it and I am connected to their network (No LTE, but the internet is still fast enough). I also changed the method listed here to change the phone number listed on settings ##MLS# and enter the number on both fields.
At this point everything works on the phone except for a really annoying detail.
Every call I get (and these are local US calls, not international) has a + (plus sign) at the front.
this is triggering two problems
1- the number shown on the caller id of the incoming call does not always match a number on my phone book. This is a problem as I don't know who is calling.
2- if I dial back, to call the number who called me, the call does not go through.
Now, if I go to the address book I can call any saved number.
The SIMM card i put on this S4 came from a Galaxy S2, which was working perfectly (not having these issues) - (I had to cut it to make it a micro)
At this point the only solution I have found is to use a program called Prefixer (apk) which will change the first character of every outgoing call to a +1. This of course will force me to edit every number on my phonebook and add the + (as otherwise prefixer will be changing any "first" character into a +1). I do have a lot of numbers
I wonder if someone can come up with a solution which does not involve something like this.
I hope the issue is understood, it has taken me three days to explain it to the NET10 team, and all they always asked was if I needed to make an international call (retards) :/
Thanks for all the help.
This is my work around so far, but I wish I could find a native solution to the problem
1- I exported all my contacts from google and fixed all the number in my address book only to include area code and number (no other symbols or spaces, etc) as in 305765342
2 downloaded: Prefixer from 253°Below (sorry I am new, can't post links)
I programmed two incoming and two outgoing rules using regular expressions to remove the + and +1 in front of numbers
The only annoying thing is that that app vibrates and provides a notification everytime one of the rules is triggered.
I wonder if anyone has a better idea on how to fix this.
Thanks
