Where to get replacement parts? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Is there a company out there that I can order replacement parts for my I-Mate? Specifically right now I need a speaker; but what if I need a motherboard or a button in the future?
I know there are some guys with screens and cases; but no one I can find has the speaker or other internal items. Any help out there?

I've been looking all over for someone that sells replacement cases (housings) for my MDA2... Do you know of anyone?
Oh, and unfortunatley I don't know a place or someone that might sell the spares you want...
Thanks!
Sergio

In fact I do need a new mother board and can't find a source for it, has anyone got any ideas.
If I find a source I will let you know

It's a pitty...
This does not make any sense...
The Himalaya is one of the most popular PPCPhones out there and still it's very difficult (if not impossible) to find replacement parts (from mobos to housings)
It's amazing to see parts (even generic) for old, cheap-o & discontinued models but not for our little more expensive devices.

HTC Wizard Parts

I have heard somebody had found a place that you can order basically just about any HTC part, but after hours of searching I cant find anything. I think the post addressed where to get HTC replacement stylus, but the link provided in the post went to a website that offeres all kinds of differnet parts for the Wizard. Does anybody know of this post or where I might go for HTC parts?
Thanks!
I would like to know as well as I want to get an english only keyboard
i need this too!
i need a mainboard and battery cover.

I called HTC America and they are NOT willing to sell parts....I needed a replacement power switch for my 8125 (broke it putting it back together after replacing screen).
I saw a different thread here with some part numbers for Digi-Key and it turned out to be the switch that is used for the Camera/comm/voice buttons. (Digi-Key part #P12280SCT-ND--I have 4, let me know if you need one) In the end,I ended up buying one from Pocket PC Techs $15.00 for the power switch. After comparing it to what I have found on Digi-Key, I have narrowed it down to part #P10849SCT-ND. Now (hopefully) you won't have to pay Pocket PC for your switch like I did!!!

Fitting a Vario screen

Hi. My special needs son used a set of keys as a stylus and has made a couple of holes in the screen. I am in the UK and can buy a new screen for £65 on eBay but can find no instructions for fitting it. The firm will fit it for me but this cost an extra £25.
Anyone help me out please with some information?
Thanks,
Doug
Can get a replacement if I knew how to fit it! Anyone know please?

It's amazing what you can find if you use the SEARCH function instead of bumping your own post the same day....if you were that desperate for it try searching yourself next time?....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=43836
In fact, my friend, I used the search function before I did anything and it came up with about a thousand hits of which the first hundred were no good!
I am quite desperate for this information, hense the bump before it went off the page. Keep smiling.....
Doug
Learn to use the search engine? It came up straight away if you use the 'all words' function....and I attached the link for you but you obviously haven't realised as 'you are' desperate for the info not 'you were'...
Oh well. I'd just pay the £25....
Thanks for the link anyway. I have downloaded it but it looks so complicated, I will pay someone to do it anyway.
Sorry to be a bit sarky, the link was appreciated.

Another reason to get the screen vendor to fit the screen is that there are 2 possible screens for the wizard - unless you have opened the phone before purchase you will not know which, so if they post you 'a' wizard screen you may get the wrong one and I doubt they'll take it back. If you send them your device it's their problem if it's the wrong one, just watch they don't blame your board for being faulty and try and charge you anyway.
Some vendors sell magician screens saying they fit wizards and this is true in some cases but not all. The 'wrong' screen will display strange colours and look washed out or not display anything.
From experience, most ebay screen vendors etc don't actually know this.
For the total price ( £90) why not try HTCEuropes's service dept if you have a t-mobile vario? They don't touch o2 devices and may be slightly more than £90 but they will fit the correct screen and your warranty will not be invalidated.

Spares for the Athena, anywhere?

Can anyone lead me to where to find a spare enclosure (not an external case).
The one that holds the whole thing together. Ok I need some help here to find the right term
My Athena fallen and I now got a bent Athena. An art piece I'm sure, but rather have it back to its shape, you know?!
So does anyone know where to find spares?
why dont you take a picture so we could see what exactly you need
Will need to find a mirror as it is the only camera I have
Anyhow I just find what it is. Is the SHELL. The black aluminum shell.
Is anywhere to be found it as a spare?
Thank you

Thank you.
I ordered the spare casing. Will post how it goes....
Sorted!!
I have received the casing, followed instructions and I now have a bright new Athena
The only bad thing is that the camera button and the volume sliders are missing from the replacing casing. and the camera button is a nightmare to take it over from the old one.
If anyone needs assistance with replacing the casing, just PM and I'll do my best to help.
So which did you get in the end, the brando one?
I'm contemplating doing mine at some point, it's pretty scarred.
I did go for the brando and it took about a week to receive it in Scotland.
The instructions are quite easy to follow, but the tools are a must, specially the flat tool to push the parts open. I got mine here when I repaired my powerMAC a few weeks ago.
does someone know where to get a new digitizer? my one is broken (the LCD itself is still fine) and I ordered this one. But they refunded me my money and said they are out of stock
Any suggestions?
Try the brando website.
It looks like they have a lot of spare parts...
If you can't find it, try to contact them, I got a few parts not listed this way.
Good luck

You can try here
http://www.gpsmidlands.co.uk/index.php?category=Pda Digitisers
but this is £90 of her majesty money
the one in your ebay link for £19 is unbelievable, are they for real?
Regards
they said they are out of stock but they promised to contact me if they get some "digitizer-only"
currently they only have full LCD screens for £150
as far as I can see the dealer seems to be realiable...

Uni case screws - anyone has any spares?

I know it's a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone by any chance has a spare set of casing screws for Uni to sell. In particular, screen screws. Anything will be muchly appreciated. TIA.
I would give a look at my stock of screws but, I think you'll end up spending too much for those (ha!), anyway, I think that in Ebay you could find something, also try in your own city with the people that repair watches and those who repair electronic devices (radios, TVs, etc.), I use to have a repair shop and I kept always that kind of things, I'm sure that if you're the one in your avatar no one will say you "no, I don't have them".
A big and well known hardware store/screw (specific) reseller might have them, even if they might not be torx types.
good luck

I am the one on the avatar and I am the one doing repairs, so if I am the one asking here if someone has a set of screws, chances are I tried other places with no luck.
Oooops, sorry to read that, sincerely I'm laughing (but not too much), it's funny (from my point of view), anyway, just a few days ago I opened some old computer cd roms and cd burners, there are many screws about that size all around the optical pickup and the mechanical system, you could try there, also most of the little hardware have that kind/measure of screws, I'm talking about walkmans, discmans, little radios, etc.
You might alternatively -as I said before- try to find a large screw seller, it's not easy to get them because We (the little ones) are not among their "classical" customers, but in the big cities you micht find them even in the "yellow pages", I hope this might be of some help for you because I know that kind of problems, I've suffered'em a lot in all these years -by the way, don't you need a working partner?-, good luck again (with the screws and with the repairings).

sorry its craigslist or something and is only in US, i havent used it but i heard its like ebay, amazon, etc. Maybe you should look in the market section of xda.
What exactly do you need? If you would be a little more specific like which parts shoiuldn´t be faulty which parts are allowed to be this would help a lot and I might could offer you something.
