Hi all, bit of a lurker, but the posts on here have helped me loads over the last 2 weeks of ownership of a XDA 2i, but i cant find anything to solve this prob i have, so im calling on someones help here!
Ive removed all the 02 stuff from the unit, but i have lost the power level indicator from the front splash screen, which is a little irritating to me! i like that little thing
i can get it going through the start, settings menu, so how would i go about getting it back on the front splash? ive tried everything i can think of, im prob just missing something really little and stupid!
thanks in advance for any help.

XDA does not start, Status LED Red

Hi all
About 4 weeks ago my XDA 2 was out of Battery and i wanted to charge it in the craddle. But when i put the XDA 2 in my craddle (with attatched power supply) the status led only turned RED and nothing else happend. After 30 minutes the status led turns off. I can not power on the xda, not with a soft reset and even not with a hard reset. So i thougt that the battery is maybe dead (too old or whatever ) and i bought a new one....but..... still the same problem!
When i charge the battery directly in the craddle (that works! led on the craddle changes after a few hours from orange to green) and put it after that back into the XDA 2.......... nothing happens....
please help
Hi,
I have the very same problem since month ago, I upgraded to wm2k5 2.03.32wwe, did a change in the system, and after 24h, my phone went dead
Did you do a rom upgrade or in any way altered something in the system? Let us know if you get it work, ok?
J.
The only ROM Update i made was the official one from O²... And this was half a year ago.
Well but..... I SOLVED IT! But i cannot say how... The only thing i've done is that i opened the XDA2 and deconstructioned it in its parts... Well and when i "just for fun" tried to connect the battery to the battery connectors..... DING DING So i assembled it again and now it works fine!
I also cleaned a lot of dirt out of it, maybe this was the reason. I will keep an eye on this...
But thanks for your efforts...
Greetings Ben
Da*n it, you lucky guy,
I wish I get off with such a simple solution. I do not have the right tools but I am out just now and getting the things I need. Fingers crossed
Red light means, you have problem with battery. At first check, if you have closed red lock on the bottom of battery. There is no switch to sense rear cover, so, it doesn't matter, if it put or not.
If battery is installed, lock closed, but you still have red light - try to obtain for a minute working battery from another Himalaya and have a try. If it does not work too... seems it's a hardware problem there.
Same thing happened to me I just took the battery out and left it for a few minutes then back in and it works

Thanks for your reply guys. I've tried everything you guys suggested, but I've been unsuccessful in starting my PDA. It's been like this for 2 months, I've tried taking out the battery, changing the battery etc, but still nothing. So I figured out it's probably a problem with the b/l mode, since I'm unable to enter b/l at all. I gave it to of mine who's a little more tech savvy, he's got the right tools to take the chip out, and if he can manage to flash the b/l. Has anyone done that. If yes, please advise. My friend has fixed some BIOS's for laptops etc, but this will be his first PDA. He said that he doesn't have a board for the PDA chip but will try to work it out some way around. Perhaps someone can advise me where to get that board from?
Anyway, I will keep you posted, and if you guys have any more ideas or experiences, please share.

xda mini S doesn't charge!!

hey guys, this is urgent!
My mini S ran outa battery, i didn't have time to charge it for 1 day, then when i tried to charge it afterward, it doesn't charge at all, the ppc is just dead now..
Pls help!!
Sorry but something like this is only going to get one type of reply. Search!!!
This is on here maybe 3 or 4 times!!!
People are not happy at the mo cus we are losing everything cus of dumb questines like this, that have not been searched!!
I dont want to have a go at you, its just that apart from feedback about new roms (Like that will happen ever again) you will find things writen about close to anything that could go wrong with the wizard.
Try searchiing for 'dead battery'
Here is one that may help you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281913&highlight=battery+dead
sorry mate.. my bad, should have made a search, bt i was too worried bout the wiz..

I may have killed my 8125. Help?

hi guys.
Okay. About 5 or 6 months ago i cracked the screen on my wizard. The phone pretty much hasnt been touched since then. I ordered a new screen and recieved it yesterday. I opened up my wizzy-wiz today and then proceeded to change the screen. I finished up with that, closed it up, and now...NOTHING HAPPENS.
Im thinking it could be one of two things...
1. I screwed something up internally.
2. ISA DED BATRY.
So, im kinda just wondering...are there any little tricks i shouldve known about before cracking it open...or fwat.
Im at a loss. All of these pretty new roms you guys are cooking up. They look SOOO TAZTY. Plus...im tired of my i617.
Any help would be awesome...especially if you have done an LCD change out before.
THANK YOOH.
did you buy the right screen?? there are 2 models of screen for the wizard
also does the charge light appear when plugged in?
Nevermind.
It was totally the battery. I got a new battery and all is good.
Thanks anyway.

[Q] Constantly crashing Uni. help please :)

hello uni guru's and such, im really hoping i can get some help with my Universal (orange version), ive had it a while now and its been sitting at the bottom of a drawer for a year because ive been messing around with my Kaisers', anyway the problem is that it crashes all the time, ive just done a DOC format and flashed orange stock rom and ive actually got it working now but its still crashing every so often. i was hoping someone had a miracle cure as i have done everything and it just white screens.
Thanks for listening and im really hoping to get my uni working as its a just a paper weight at the moment.
Alex
Welcome to forums,
Have you tried MTTY?
Have read on my signature, there are plenty of useful info.
Good luck,
well im not really that new as ive been flashing my kaiser for months, and yes i did the whole doc format through MTTY and it seemed to help but its still as unstable as a elephant on a washing line, im starting to think its not the software and its a just a dying board or something but i will keep trying new things till i get bored
Could it be an installed App or the ROM you are using? I would try a reliable ROM to rule out the software. (Make sure it's not overclocking).
i really doupt its the rom, it was what i tried first but its running the stock one it came with and it boots up, and it seems whenever i do anything the screen will just go blue, or green, or white. and im not running any installed apps.
it might poss be hardware struggling but i cant think what its struggling with.
