USB Host controller for Magician - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

I would love to take advantage of the Jam's USB client port and Windows Mobile 2003 native support for USB hosting.
This is a request: Please cook up a ROM that includes a USB Host controller! That way I can use any USB keyboard, etc I like!!!
Please Help!!!

Hi,
There nothing to do with ROM
The USB Port is Client but can't be turn Host by a ROM.
This is a hardware problem...

Connect pendrive to the Jam...

Hi guys!
Is it possible to connect a pendrive to the Jam in order to transer the files from pendrive to Jam?
No - this requires USB host control or USB on the Go, which the magician doesn't have.

Actually, the processor in the magician HAS usb on the go support, and the magician itself has an usb on the go port. I don't know if the operating system has the required drivers, but the hardware could do it.
Wow, cool, I didn't know that.
Do any of the HTC devices have on the go facility working then?

USB Pen

Hi!
Is it possible to connect a USB Pen to the magician and read/change its content?
Tanks!
No, don't think so, it doesn't allow USB host control, just slave (ie can connect it to a PC as a slave, but not control other USB devices).

Thank you!

Mini USB host Controller

Can our mini USB ports be used to connect things like usb flash drives, I know it cannot by default but doesnt the samsung and qualcomm chisets support this? I know windows CE supports it as well.
I don't think the Hermes can host USB. There's a newish protocol called USB on the go that's meant to allow devices to communicate without a host, but nobody seems to use it.
Personally I would be happy with a bluetooth usb host device.
no, tytn doesnt have usb host functionality, this has been answered many times in different posts.

Adding USB Host functionality?!

Hi!
Is there any (not that expensive) possibility to "teach" the HTC Touch Cruise the USB Host functionality? I want to connect a mini USB TMC Reveicer and maybe another GPS Receiver that has an MD6 Connector.
Thanks in advance
USB Host functionality (USB On The Go, or USB OTG) is hardware based, so AFAIK, there is no way of achieving that on the Polaris.

Artemis connected to microcontroller with usb otg

Hello everyone,
I need to connect a usb peripheral to the Artemis P3300.The peripheral is a usb client device ,an rfid reader , from which i want to pass a short string of data to the Artemis.
My idea is to use an atmel microcontroller with usb on the go , to act as a host , read the data from the rfid reader and pass it to the Artemis using its mini usb port.
As I am quite new to this kind of engineering I would like to hear your opinion about this way of interfacing the Artemis with the microcontroller.Has anyone tried something similar? Do you think that the extUSB is suitable for a connection with a usb on the go host device?
Best regards
